Web Forms :: Show Values From Table Which Are Not In Listbox?

i have a list box (listbox1) populated with some values.i also have a table with some values.I'd like to show values from table which are NOT IN listbox1.here's a code. I see what the problem is. Just can't understand what is the solution.If I have one value in listbox it works fine, but if more than 1 it messed up, since it tries loop several times.

The only thing: If I want to update some properties of item, but do not update name(just leave name the way it was) it still fires the validation, and my update cannot pass validation since this name is already exists.i have a listbox populated with values from linqdatasource (or from datacontext using code-behind) Also I have formview which allows to insert new values to database.When I insert new value in the database, this value doesn't show up in listbox until I recompile project/restart browser. When i refresh page nothing happen. Only old values are visible. Id like to have more dynamic page. I tried updatepanels. Maybe I need somehow refresh database connection first?

is it possible to select only the item that are displayed in the list box. That is i am having a list of item starting from 0 to 100 in the list box. But i have reduced the height of the list box so that it displayed the item one by one. I need the displayed item to automatically selected.

I have a listbox and used the sqldatasource to load the items in the listbox. But if there are no items in the result then i need to hide the listbox and show one msg like "no items". I know to check the listbox is empty or not using "Items.Count " , but which event will i check this?

Updates to the edited item are not passing the new / updated values but rather the original values. And I can't for the life of me figure out why when I change the original value in an edit textbox and post the update the new value is not being passed. I get the original value. Perhaps fresh eyes can spot the problem. This should be super basic but apparently I'm missing something.

its possible to show multiple line text in listbox. For eg. I have two records as follows

Pizaa 1 : BBQ Chicken
Add: Extra Sauce
Add: Extra Cheese

Wings 1 : Hot Spicy
Add : Extra Red Pepper
Remove : Cheese
I have to provide "Remove functionality" , listbox is the easiest to provide remove functionality. I cannot modify above record format. If its not possible, then what is the alternate to overcome this issue.

I had used listbox control with multiple selection mode. I stored id with comma delimiter in database.
e.g.
1. List Item One.
2. List Item Two.
3. List Item Three.
4. List Item Four.
5. List Item Five.
6. List Item Six.
Suppose user select item 2, 4 & 6. So I will store it as a 2,4,6 in database. This will work fine.
Now in editing I have to shows selection-bar for item 2, item 4 & item 6. So I had typed below source.

I want to display panels based on the check boxes selected on the dynamic checkbox list control. I have been able to dynamically build the check box but have no idea on how to access its checked propety. This is what I am doing but getting error on Request.Form On page load wrote this code.

I am trying to add the total of the items in my listbox . i have done this with my checkboxlist and it works no problem. When i try to add the total of my products in listbox i get 0.

I have a problem to save data into SQL table.
I have two listbox controls, one contains the Author list and another contains the author of the particular record.There are two buttons to copy data from one list box to another listbox.

I have a listbox (lb1).When multiple values are selected from the listbox ,only the first value is shown in the label.
label.text=lb1.SelectedItem.Text; This seems to be working for just single value.
How can I assign multiple values to the label?I tried using the foreach loop with the listitem but its not working.

I have a gridview that calls a stored procedure that allows the user to search a parts list. In the gridview, I added a textox for Quantity and a button to Add to Quote. The idea here is that the user searches for parts, enters a quantity for a selected part, part is added to quote and user searches again for more parts. Here's my gridview code:

Questions:
1. How do I display the gridview values including textbox Quantity in my listbox?
2. How do I ensure that parts remain in the listbox after another search is performed? If it's viewstate, can you provide an example of how to go about doing this?
3. The values in the listbox will ultimately be written to the database on an insert record when customer creates a quote. Is there a way to streamline this process so that the insert is started when gridview textbox quanity is entered? I'm thinking about using a wizard control with first step being a display of selected parts, culiminating in an insert statement.

I am fairly new to ASP.Net and web programming in general and I am having issues trying to add values from a dropdown list in my gridview to another table.
Here is my scenario. I have 2 tables in my SQL Express DB. When editing the values of table2 in a gridview, I would like to show some data from table1 in a dropdown so users can select a value from table 1 and enter that value in table 2.
I have the Gridview setup to show table2 data.
I created a field template and inserted my dropdown list and linked it to my table1 data source.
When I run my web form, I can click to edit one of the fields in the gridview, and my dropdown list correctly displays the data from table 1, but when I try to update the table2 with the dropdown value, it doesn't correctly update. The row in table2 never updates.
posting the dropdown value from table 1 into the appropriate field in table2..
Again, I am new to this and have been following the tutorials etc on this site, but can't find one pertaining to this topic.
