View 5 RepliesI am working on finance domain, we are using many sessions and viewstates for store values and data. Our clients want fast speed of our website. We are using grid/repeater/datalist and chart controls for show data.
View 3 RepliesI started using url routing for my web application. It's a dynamic website and it has more than 50k pages. It looks like now it works slower. how to optimize it, to improve it and make it more efficient?
View 1 RepliesI've been reading many articles and can't seem to get my ASP.NET 4 web forms project to do Routing/URL rewriting.
I have added the following reference to the ASP.NET project:
System.Web.Routing
It then added the following line to the web.config file:
<compilation debug="false" targetFramework="4.0"><assemblies><add assembly="System.Web.Routing, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/>
</assemblies></compilation>
In the global.asax file I want to add the routes, but it is not recognising RouteTable and RouteCollection keywords.
How do I get these to be recognised so that I can create the rules in the global.asax file?
I am a .Net Developer and I develop using C#. View 2 RepliesI there I have recently created an ASP website wich uses .net 4 and SQL db but soem some reason even displaying 20 records in a gridview is slow... So after some reading I converted the website to a Web Application Project so its compile prior to publish.. But yet again this is a bit slow. pages loading time is not of a bit issue...
View 8 RepliesI tried everything I could find, but still does not work on IIS routing.
View 2 RepliesI am using:
ASP.NET 3.5 SP1 with Web Forms Routing thru Global.asax (System.Web.Routing and RegisterRoutes)IIS 7
Everything is working fine in my local machine, but it gives the following error in my hosting environment:
Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Routing, Version=3.5.0.0, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I did everything inside my web.config file mentioned in the following link:

But I am still getting the above error.
What else am I supposed to do fix the error?
I have developed a website in asp.net framework 2 . This website is being hosted in two different servers without any change in code. My issue is about the performance of these 2 sites. One website is taking much time for inserting datas to the DB (SQL server 2005). 2 websites are having different DB server.
I think the issue is for the DB server. How can we rectify the DB performance while insertion and Is there any other cause for this permance issue?
I am not sure if this is the right forum. I can not find a forum for LINQ.
I am working on an application using LINQ. Application performance is not up to par and my tests show that it is LINQ queries that are slow. I was wondering if anybody can recommend where I can find an article about optimizing LINQ performance maybe by compilation or other methods.
I have a Web application where i have added a reference to a RESTful WCF. I got the WCF url Routing to work in my webapplication by adding Inherits="RestService.Global" to the Web applications Global.asax.
<%@ Application Codebehind="Global.asax.cs" Inherits="RestService.Global" Language="C#" %>
But then i tried to create url Routing for the Web application and it does not work with the Inherits="RestService.Global" in the Global.asax. If i take it away it works fine. Is there a correct way to do this.
I'm trying to create my own CMS and I've gotten a little bit stuck at the stage of URL routing.
I want clean URLs without extensions and I'd like to be able to create and modify them in a web based interface without any messing around with IIS or actual files.
I've seen how to create a static route, but for that I need to go into my Global.asax file and manually add it.I would like to have all of these routes stored in a database so that I can easily modify them later.
Does anyone know how this can be achieved?
Just for extra information, I will be attempting to create a feature so that if a path exists, but is later changed, a 301 redirect is created to the new URL, is this also possible? (My first problem is the main issue, but thought I might ask this as well just in case it makes a difference)
I am creating a service oriented application where trying to have everything using services....however there is something I am not sure of , I am having a page that calls the database at the page load...so what would be better and faster?? to call database in pageload , or to call wcf service from javascript during javascript load ??btw , I am using a repeater in the page , but I have created somekind of an engine to create the suitable html so...I'll be creating the repeaters html using the wcf and resend it back to the page If I am using a wcf service at the start.
View 1 RepliesHow to handle asp.net mvc routing along with asp.net webform routing. I have merged my mvc app into my existing web application. In my web application i have implement routing as below:
routes.Add("View Product Details", new Route("Product/{City}/{Manufacturer}/{Name}/{ProductID}/{*ProductType}"));
Similarly i have implemented routing in mvc as below
routes.MapRoute("Product Details",
"Product/{City}/{Manufacturer}/{Name}/{ProductID}/{ProductType}",
new
{
controller = "Home",
action = "ProductDetails",
City= UrlParameter.Optional,
Manufacturer= UrlParameter.Optional,
Name= UrlParameter.Optional,
ProductID= UrlParameter.Optional,
ProductType= UrlParameter.Optional
});
How to handle both pages, as one is custom web form while other is asp.net mvc view?
I'm a web developer and I have a website (actually a mega project) which i need to complete in a very less time.
How do i actually boost my productivity and double or even triple my productivity by developing my application fast.??
and in short how do i speed up ASP.NEt development time?
i have 100 buttons and 101 textboxs, button run scripts and some of them run by code like this:
[code]....
i meaen i want it run on client side only , before i submit by another button, but the problem is it spent more than 2 second to get value
from textbox1 to textbox2 in this case( because i have 101 button run like these), i know that it need time postback to server. i could not use return()false because if i do like that the value from texbox1 will not add into textbox2, 2 seconds is not reach my golf.
When I turn on Code Coverage in my test settings, on a project that references the Unity DI container I get the following error:
Cannot initialize the ASP.NET project'{Project Name}'.
The event log specifies the following reason:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=2.0.414.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. Strong name signature could not be verified.
