View 1 RepliesWe have around 2000 staff. Each has a shared drive to store some of their files. This shared drive points to a central location on our network.Example:
John's F: drive -> \ournetworkjohn.doe
Jane's F: drive -> \ournetworkjane.doe
Each user will have a folder within the root "ournetwork" labeled with their username. I do not have to worry about the directory creation as that's already done for me. These users are all tied into our AD for authentication. Folder name == AD username.We would like the ability to allow our users to access their mapped "F" drive from outside our network through a web page. I understand that the programming involved(assuming it comes to that) will not rely on their mapped drive but rather the UNC path as posted above.I am open to suggestions on how to get this accomplished. ASP.NET? Is there just an IIS solution like WebDAV? (although client-side WebDAV on win 7 seems to be broken, so that may be off the table).
I am using windows authentication in website. All LAN users have access to one shared drive. I want to retrieve those files progrmatically. Like reading a file from network drive. If I open the solution and click F5, I am able to access it. Once it is hosted in IIS, its throwing error.
View 3 RepliesI have a ASP.NET/C# web application that contains user controls with GridView controls. The GridView controls contain the following column types.
CommandField - Contains buttons like Edit, Select, Delete, ...
BoundField (x8) - Contains the data fields from the database.
TemplateField - Contains a single ASP:Menu control.
The menu control consists of the following structure.
Navigate To (Parent MenuItem)
- Location A (Child MenuItems)
- Location B
- Location C
- Location D
- Location E
What I need to do is when the OnMenuItemClick event is fired, determine which menu item was clicked (already done) and then capture what the value in the first BoundField cell is for the row that the menu item was clicked on.
So, for instance if I have three rows in the grid with the first BoundField column containing the IDs 1, 2 & 3. Then I hover my mouse over the menu on the 2nd row, and click the menu item "Location C". The "Menu1_OnMenuItemClick" event is fired and I can determine that "Location C" was clicked by e.Item.Value == "Location C".
However, how do I navigate up through the API to determine what the contents of the cell in the first bound field column are for the row that was clicked on?

I have to display data (names) in a random order on the website. The data is stored in a MS Access database. The names must be displayed in a GridView and DataList in different places. I have created a query in MS Access "zorder: Rnd([MarinaAccommodation]![ID])" which works fine in MS Access giving me a different order each time.
The problem is that when I try run it on the website the order remains the same, it does not change each time the page is loaded.
I'll be having a website to upload images and am creating the database now , I'll have one original image and about 6 to 7 thumbnails , I just want it to be in the best possible way so I thought I'll save the original image in database and I'll be saving it's thumbnails on hard drive as they're going to be accessed alot so I dont want the httphandlers to be bringing like 20 images from the database while they can be brought easily from the harddrive.

View 1 RepliesI am using C# and VS 2008 with access database. I have a nested gridview (2) with two access database tables. Date1 (takes System date) is the primary key in table1 and also present in table2 as foreign key. User data is stored in gridview 2 w.r.t to the date in gridview1. What i am tryin to do is to mail todays date (System date) data of Gridview 1 and data corresponding to it in Gridview 2 to a specific mail id.
View 8 RepliesIs there anything missing in IIS 6.0 that prevents me from (Insert into table) using MS-Access?
Explain: The application works fine under Visual Studio 2008 IDE the insert into table works fine with no error, Also I tested with hosting provider and works fine with no problem. but now I have published the same exact app in a dedicated server windows 2003 with
IIS 6.0 .NET framework 2.0 with latest service pack I gave IIS_WPG write/modify access to the folder where MS-Access database is located and database but at the time of insert an error pop-up. I need to install in the Server or settings in the IIS to recognize my MS-Access db is it some office runtime that I am missing. (BTW I am using OLEDB connection string in my C# )
Using System.Data.OleDb;
I can retrieve data off of it with no problem but when I try to insert is when it fails I thought the problem was Access Rights but I do not think is the case.
Can I export my Gridview data to an Access Database (MDB), like how we will export to Excel ?

i am "attempting" to use the Menu control to dispaly a static site map. To do this i simply set my StaticDisplayLevels to 10 to ensure the 4 levels of navigation i have all show up. this works fine but we require styling the upper level items differently from the lower items. Since i am not using Dynamic items i can't set DynamicItemStyles separate from StaticItemStyles (if anyone knows how to keep other levels dynamic but force them to stay expanded im all ears!)
Anyways i set an even on the MenuItemDataBound that gets rid of hidden elements and i wanted to use this similarly to a repeater control to hook into the hyperlink i have in the StaticItemTemplate and set a class. Only problem is using e.Item does not allow for a "FindControl" method. Is there any way to cast a menu item as a ListItem or somethign where i can actually try to find the control within it?
Or any other alternatives on styling levels differently. I noted that the e.Item has a propert of Depth which i can use to determine how to style it. just can't seem to get into the item to find any controls.
With Menuitem in horozontal display mode, i want it to be displayed accross the top of the screen, filling the whole width - any idea how you specify this? I see there is a width parameter, but what value to use? Additionally, if say it contained 4 items say and I wanted to display the 4 items justified in the centre only of the screen - how would I do this?

I'm using VS2010, where the automatically renders the menu items on an ASP.NET menu control in <ul> and and <li> tags with anchor and image tags--the image tags for the ImageURL reference that I specify for each MenuItem, which is great...
trying to get an id property into the img tag rendered for each menu item. Is there anyway to do this, so that I can use Jquery easily to access each of the items? The closest I can come to a unique identifier on each rendered img tag is the title property--which translates into the tooltip property on the control.
I have created a simple application to edit data in an access database using gridview but its not working , the results are shown correctly , but when i click update nothing happens..
