WebMatrix :: Can't Get Inline IF Statement To Write A Fragment Of Text?
Mar 7, 2011
I'm trying to get a Razor conditional to write a few characters into an HTML page, but I can't figure out the syntax to pass the text characters straight to the screen. This bit of code works correctly:
@{if(sortColumn=="BbConvTerm"){<p>ASDF</p>}}
But I don't want those <p></p> tags. I just want it to insert the "ASDF" characters into HTML. For example:[doesn't work] @{if(sortColumn=="BbConvTerm"){ASDF}} [doesn't work] @{if(sortColumn=="BbConvTerm"){new HtmlString("ASDF")}} [doesn't work] @{if(sortColumn=="BbConvTerm"){Html.Raw("ASDF")}}
I am trying to do an inline IF statement inside a asp:Repeater control to add a class to the first item, but I can't quite seem to figure it out.
Basically the code I have right now that is not working but should give an idea of what I'm "trying" to do looks like this.
<asp:Repeater ID="rptrTabRepeater" runat="server"> <ItemTemplate> <div class="tab <%= If Container.ItemIndex = 0 Then %>highlight<% End If%>"> 'Other stuff here </div> </ItemTemplate> </asp:Repeater>
I have tried using the OnItemDataBound event but the delegate interface cannot return a value. If I'm going to do anything from a code-behind function really it would just need to be an "echo" kind of function which I wasn't quite sure how to get the item index in a code behind function. If I could do something inline like my example that would be the best solution for me.
I have few inline sql statements with some arrays and if loops. I want to change them all into one stored procedure in SQL server 2005.
As i am learning SQL, i have got no idea about how it should be done with arrays and if loops. Is that possible to send arrays into stored procs or is there any other solution.
I have a datalist which acts like a table and displays certain values. I'm trying to display a boolean value as yes or no as opposed to true or false. This is what my current line looks like, is there any way to use an inline If statement to get this to work?
[Code]....
How can I make this show yes or no instead of true or false?
I'm trying to display an image inside a ListView control based on the value of a databound property. I've tried two methods of doing this (one at a time) and both returned errors of "The server tag is not well formed". Consider the code below.
For reasons that are probably not worth mentioning in this post, I have decided to stop using ASP.NET controls and simply use regular HTML controls for my .aspx pages. As such, to dynamically generate HTML, I use c# inline to the .aspx to do what I need to do.
For example: this .aspx snippet shows how I am dynamically creating a <select> element where the <option> elements are driven by looping through a generic list of objects.
<select name="s"> <option value="-9999">Select an entity...</option> <% foreach (MyEntity e in this.MyEntities) {%> <option <% if (MyEntityInScope.ID == e.ID) { %>selected<%} %> value="<%= e.ID %>"> <%= e.Name%></option> <%} %> </select>
Functionality-wise, I prefer this method of creating HTML (I feel more in control of how the HTML is generated vs ASP controls). However, syntactically (and visually), I think it's cumbersome (and ugly).
Is there a "better" way (another syntax) to dynamically generate HTML w/out resorting to using ASP.NET controls?
I'm learning razor syntax, using the startersite in WebMatrix and trying to display some data from a table. I want to select only the data from the logged in user, so in effect want to say
...WHERE UserId =@WebSecurity.CurrentUserId";but that doesn't work.
Using the @0 method doesn't work for me either - I get an 'A parameter is missing. [ Parameter ordinal = 1 ]' error.
Do I have to set a variable then use the @0 / @1 / @whichever way? If so - what's wrong with this code?
@{ //Is the user logged in? WebSecurity.RequireAuthenticatedUser(); [code]...
how can I create stored procedure and write my select statement in it, I know how to create dataset then put type stored procedure and assign it to the sp ... what I want is writing my sp... how can I make it ?
check the following code, this is what I want to write put I don't know where or how !
I have a RequiredFieldValidator with Display="Dynamic" on my ASP.NET WebForm. I have assigned it a class using the CssClass property. I want the error message to be displayed using display: block, so I have placed this on the css class in my style sheet.
Unfortunately, the validator places a display: inline on the element on the web page, effectivaly overriding my style sheet value.
Edit:
I just realised why this doesn't work. When setting Display="Dynamic" on a validator, it has the effect that it sets style="display: none" on the span tag when rendering. The .net javascript library then switches the inline style of the element between "none" and "inline". That is simply how the dynamic validator works. So for this to display as a block element, I will need to modify how the client side event validation works.
I tried to assign the value of button text through the following syntax where MyValue is the public variable with the value "Checkout" in the code behind.
[Code]....
But it turned out that it displayed <%=MyValue%> instead of "Checkout". Yes of course I can still assign button text value in the code behind but just don't know if there is any other solutions to it.
I'm writing a SQL query where I need to detect if the value of an integer column in one table is contained within the value of a varchar column of another table. For example:
Table1 has columns A, B, C
A = 1
B = 2
C = 3
Table2 has columns D, E, F
D = "1,2,3,4,5"
E = "2, 5, 10, 15"
F = "1, 3, 49"
How would I write SQL SELECT statement to determine if the value in Table1.A is in Table2.D, Table1.B is in Table2.E, and Table1.C is in Table2.F?
I need to return xml file back to web server url for credit card payment. can you guys have some sample how to return xml back to web service using MVC.
I have a web page with a form in the footer, when the user clicks submit in this form I submit their data and then return the view with the model with the line
[Code]....
but this means that the user is at the top of the page and cannot immediately see the validation errors or success message on that page as this information is posted in the footer section so is there a way to return a view with the model and a html fragment so the url is http://website/page#footer so that they can see this straight away without having to scroll down.
Also I have to assume the user has javascript turned off and the user could be using browsers ie6 and greater.
I'm using the old 404-rewrite method on a certain site that is tied to IIS6 *. So if I enter [URL] it calls my error page like so [URL] Except if I call the page with a fragment, like [URL] I get the same result as above. I can't find the fragment anywhere:
Request.Url Request.Url.OriginalString Request.UrlReferrer Request.RawUrl headers, server variables, etc
This has come up because I want to resolve paths created by AJAX to their server-side versions. Is there any way for me to retrieve the original path from my handler?
When that fragment (#blahtab) is present, some jQuery picks up on that and displays a different section of the page initially. However, that page requires a user to authenticate first. Coming back from the authentication step using FormsAuthentication, the fragment is discarded, regardless of the UrlEncode step.
I don't see the fragment actually sent to the server when I use a debugger on my local machine. Is this standard fare and the fragment is only for the client side?How can I keep that tacked on without writing my own redirection code on the login page?
Alternately, should I use another method to preserve the view of the page?
I am looking for a better way to update a list of records. I have a string column in my table that contains an array of strings like so:
"11112,AAAA1,AAAA2,99998" etc. It is possible that the column could contain one of those values at any position, for instance, these are ALL valid values for the column:
I want to . This MUST also remove any leading, trailing, or double comma values that may be left from simply replacing the "11112" with an empty string.
As of now, I simply load a SqlDataReader with any records that contain "11112", I replace it with nothing, "", then I fix the string if need be and update it.
But I assume there is a way to do this all in one statement, so I don't have to update one record at a time.... Right?
I've found a Webmatrix help article that says MS Webmatrix "publishes the (SQL Server or MySQL) database by creating scripts that run in a database that has been created for you by your hosting provider." That is wonderful, except I can't get it to work when I'm trying to publish a MySQL database (backing wordpress) through FTP (my hosting provider does not support 'web deploy'). Again, no problem, since it is already documented that " FTP protocols cannot be used to publish MySQL database. " But this does not excuse Webmatrix from generating MySQL database install scripts for me. During the publishing step, no database install script is generated - at least that I can tell - and there is no manual option to create a database export / backup / install script.
In short, as Webmatrix goes, I'm dead in the water trying to get my database uploaded to my hosting provider. Does anyone know the trick to force Webmatrix to create the MySQL database install scripts on my local box? Once created, I can take-over the upload and install process.
I'm wondering if it is possible to include Microsoft.Data.Entity.CTP.dll reference to WebMatrix site and if the Compact edition of the database would support it? I'd kinda love use something like
code-first development in my WebMatrix project. I think is even easier than writing SQL-s into the code...
I am fairly new to Visual Web Developer and am trying something out. I have an ASPX page done with a button (using VB). I have already been able to get the username variable to write to the page using Response.write(Environment.UserName). I want to go a little farther with this and extract the field [Program] from a table tblUserInfo in the sql database where the Env.UserName = tblUserInfo.username.
Now I have started to code the button but can't figure out how to use an SQL statement to extract that data...
[Code]....
My end result will be once I can see what program a user is linked to in the table, the question form they are going to will be different based on that program value... but one step at a time eh.
In our .aspx pages we have user controls each control has a Sql query to fetch data. The caching mechanism to be followed says that fragment cache all the user controls and invalidate the cache based on the respective queries of the user control.How to proceed to add a query dependency to fragment cached user control?
I started the Bakery site demo...everything runs fine on my local machine.When I publish the site to production server in w2k8r2+iis7.5 and with .net 4.0 (integrate) pool, my bakery apps not able to connect to the .sdf file.
