I want JavaScript functionClickMenu(this) at input button [id="ButtonMaster1" @ MyMasterPage.aspx] pass its value ["Menu-1"] into text box [id="TextBoxDefault1" @ MyDefault.aspx], and then performing update / doing post-back to server ONLY FOR UpdatePanelDefault1.
I am looking forward an example code for JavaScript functionClickMenu(this).
A friend of mine pointed out that all your C# code used in a website should be put in the aspx.cs file included with the aspx file. But now I just can't seem to run a function that is stored in the aspx.cs file.

I have some ajax fucntions on my default.aspx that I use for saving data to my db. I have the form on my web control. When I try calling the function from my button which resides on the web control. I get an error.
I need to call that function from my registerform.ascx. How do I do that from within the registerform code behind?
function ShowAvailability() {
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "Default.aspx/CheckEmail",
data: '{usermail: "' + $("#<%=subs_email.ClientID%>")[0].value + '" }',
contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
dataType: "json",
success: OnSuccess,
failure: function(response) {
alert(response);
}
});
I have an ASPX web site and I have code in there to redirect from the login page with the call to
"FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(username, false);" This sends the user from the root website folder to 'website/Admin/'. I have a 'default.aspx' page in 'website/Admin/' and the call to redirect works on a previous version of the website we have running currently, but the one that I am updating on a separate test server is not working. It gives me the error "Directory Listing Denied. This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed." I have this in the config file:
<authorization>
<allow users="*" />
</authorization>
under the "authentication" option and...
<location path="Admin">
<system.web>
<authorization>[code]....
for the location of Admin.Also, there is no difference in the code between the web.config, Login.aspx, or the default.aspx files on the current server and the one on the test server, so I am confused as to why the redirect will not work on both. It even works in the Visual Studio server environment, for which the code is also identical.
I have a function that returns an image name from an Array, and takes the array index as a parameter, something as follows:
public string imageGallery(int imageNumber)
{
return "~\webForms\profileAdmin\uploadedImages\serkijn\" + iArray[imageNumber].ToString();
}
On the aspx page I have something like this:
<img src='<%# imageGallery(0) %>' />

I have been trying to call a vb.net function in aspx page how can i do that?. I have done it in C# by
<td><#%GetItemIndex(Container.ItemIndex)%></td> its working fine in C# but in vb.net it says GetItemIndex not declared.
and trying to convert (rptpages is a repeater)
rptpages.Itemcommand += New RepeaterCommandEventHandler( rptpages_ItemCommand1) from C# to VB.net but i dont see itemcommand property in VB.net for the repeater.
I have created and application which contains a gridview that is populated by an SQL database. I built a function which converts the gridview into an excel file and stores it on the server.
I would just like to know how I can write an executable script(which I will set to run at a certain time on the server) that will access the gridview in the .aspx file containing the gridview and run the convertToExcel() function located in the .cs file attached to the .aspx file and then close.
I have more than one user control and those user controls have extenders of the ajaxcontroltoolkit. The problem is that each one has a javascript that writes "function PageLoad"... and as I have more than one user control in the same aspx, more than one of those javascript functions is written in the output. Is there anyway to combine all of them in just one function? (bear in mind that the javascript code is written within the user control and the user control doesn't know anything about what other control are in the container aspx). If I have more than one function PageLoad they will not work then, right?

We have a fairly large system involving multiple applications running on Windows, written in .NET. These include a number of web applications using ASP.NET.
We have a number of unrelated web applications written in LAMP - Linux/Apache/MySQL/Php.
The greatest advantage we've seen in ASP.NET is the ease with which code can be shared between web applications, win-form applications, windows console applications, and windows services. We have signficant code in .NET assemblies that are shared across all of these environments.
Apache/Php has some significant advantages over ASP.NET as a web programming environment, but if there is anything in it that is equivalent to .NET when it comes to integrating code that is shared across non-web applications, I'm unaware of it.
What's the equivalent of PHP's $_FILES variable in C#? Or at least something that accesses the files in the same way. I've got an upload form that I can't change and need to find out how to get at these files.
