I have an asp.net page with couple of div elements on my page. Some of them are floating left and some are separated with <br /> elements.When I put a button which just post-backs and click that, I see that some divs (which were floated to left before) are repositioned to a new line

i have a page called a1.aspx, with the Masterpagefile = a1_master.master. Now the master page has its own divs and images for design purposes. I want a way where when i load a1.aspx, certain chosen 's and images should be hidden(visible=false). how can i do this? how can i change the visibility of a div or an image in the master page from the content page?

the problem is docuement.ready doesn't execut when there is a poctback. Postback==>Button visible.normal as i've put the code in .ready. Is there a way to persist the code:$('.MyClass').css("display","none"); I tried to apply .live() on button load,but it doesn't work.
i am using the update panel in my application in that i had added 3 dropdownlists,all of them are having the selectedIndexchange event so, once you select any item in the dropdown list i had to some operation, but the problem is that if i change the any dropdownlist in the update panel all the dropdownlists selected index methods are getting called, but what i was expecting is that when i select any item in first dropdonwlist that corresponding selectindex has to be executed not the other ones, so anybody had experienced this kind of problem let me know?
View 3 RepliesI have a page with two columns. Initially, the left column will contain a list of links that are article titles. Clicking on one of the links will display the text of the article in the right column, keeping the list of titles in the left column. Clicking on another title will clear the text of the first article and display the second. Is there a way to accomplish this without having to repaint the whole page? I would rather not have the whole page resent each time a title is clicked, but rather have the page stay as is and only the contents of the right column get cleared and redisplayed. I assume there's a way to do this with JavaScript.

I want to load a popup when a user clicks a button. The buttons are images located inside a tabpanel. The first time the page is loaded the helpEvents DOES display the popup and the 'click' popup. Then I navigate to Tabpanel tab2, and the helpTickets button doesnt work (doesnt even display the 'click' popup) Then I navigate back to Tabpanel tpEventDetails, and the helpEvents button doesnt work anymore either(and also doesnt even display the 'click' popup anymore) So I think something gets lost in the updatepanel on callback...but what? and how to fix it?

I'm trying to create a table with Listview and one of the fields I'm using is supposed to show a hyperlink to a more detailed view of the data shown, how I want to do that is by using FindControl on the ID of that item and then changing the value into a hyperlink of the detailed view page with a querystring attached, the problem is that I have no idea how to re-insert that data back into the listview field, which looks something like this:

I'm still an amateur in ASP.net, and if any of this seems too convoluted when there's a much easier to do this that I don't know about.
If I set up a repeater that has LinkButton controls, an UpdatePanel works great. If I add child elements to the LinkButton,such as SPAN, the UpdatePanel stops working as expected. If you click on the area of the LinkButton everything still works, but if you click on the area of the SPAN inside of the LinkButton, you get a full PostBack.I've tried setting ChildrenAsTriggers to true and a few hundred other things. Nothing seems to work. I think the UpdatePanel sees that the "click" event happened on the SPAN and doesn't know to capture it for an async postback.

View 2 RepliesI am trying to change the text of a asp:textbox and collapse some ajaxToolkit:CollapsiblePanelExtenders within some ascx controls on my page as well as output a dynamically generated file. I have no problem collapsing the CollapsiblePanelExtenders and changing the text of the textbox from the codebehind or outputting a file. The problem arises when I want BOTH of these events to happen on the same postback. Unfortunately using Response.Write negates all of the other changes to the page.

I am building a website in which all of the site layout is in Master page and the content of the site is in the inherited pages. I have various links for navigation in which i simple use Response.Redirect to transfer to different pages. Now the problem is that I want to put the content place holder inside Ajax Update panel so that the postbacks are Asynchronous and I want to show the postback by an animated image inside Update Panel progress control. The problem is that I am unable to achieve this result and the entire page is posted back and rendered again. I have placed the content place holder inside the Ajax control toolkit's Update panel but it does not work. Is there any way that I can change the content of the content place holder to a new page with asynchronous postback.

I'm working on an ASP.NET page where I've got 10 entities. I'll call them Items. An Item can be displayed in one of two modes: Featured or Thumbnail. At any given time there is one Featured Item at the top of the page, and the rest are Thumbnails arranged in a 3x3 grid underneath the featured Item Each item is an ASP usercontrol that contains two divs: one div for Featured and one for Thumbnail -- when the item is Featured, the Thumbnail div is set as invisible and vice versa.

I have some controls within panel control.
In the deisgn time they all appear 0th position on panel.
if the textbox's top is defined as 250px, in the design time also it should appear exactly at 250Px position instead it is appering at the 0px of panel.
all controls are appearing at the top of panel frame.
this problem i didn't see in vs 2003 1.1 framework, usign vs 2008 it started.
But at runtime they do appear perfect what ever the position they were suppose to.
I know for sure i may have to do some settings on the VS ide.
I have a .Net Web page that refreshes every few minutes, and all of this works fine. However, a user has made a request for some enhancements. There are two requests, which I am little unsure how to do
1) On my page are scrollable panels, what the user would like is for the position of the scrollbars to maintain their scrollable position during postbacks, because the scrollbars return to the top of panel during each post back. How do I keep the scrollable position of the panels - I have only 3 panels to content with
2) Inside each panel, are dynamically added controls, and these controls have an image button with some javascript which hides or shows a div tag. What the user wants is to maintain the show or hide of a div tag on each of these dynamically added controls during post back. How do I do this?

View 1 RepliesMVCThe generated ADO.NET Entity Data Model loses ordinal positions of columns and reorders Entity Set column names alphabetically. This causes the columns in a new MVC VIEW to appear alphabetically and needs to be reordered by hand. I am using MySQL Database.
How can I retain the ordinal positions of columns?
