Sep 28, 2010I would like to use WordPress as my blog engine, but it is based on PHP. I wonder if there is a dot net version of it which provides the same feature as well as the same look.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to roll out a Wordpress site here at [URL] but ran into a snag as the only Wordpress version that it supported was the 3.0.1 not the 3.0.4. What version does Webmatrix install? I have a running site and would rather not rebuild it, can I install this over the top of my existing site?
View 6 Replies I downloaded and installed VS 2010 Ultimate as a trial and I received "sucessful" message at the end of the installation.
But when I opened VS 2010 Ultimate I received this warning "The 'Visual Studio HTML Editor Package' package did not load correctly.' error message".
The next thing I know is that all the Toolbox icons are grayed out (I tried to create a .NET web application). There is no design/split pane.
I have been trying to install VS 2008 profesional in my computer, I am getting this error "Package Visual Web Developer HTML source editor package has failed to loas properly GUID = BFCC0C3C-6F87-4285-A6C8-BB1606180OD Please contact package vendor for assistance, application restart is recomended , due to possible environment corruption.

I'm looking for any and all information on how to execute an SSIS package from my asp.net web site. I have written the call and when I run the application from (Localhost) it works, but when I run it from the server it does not.
Here is my code to call and execute the package:
[Code]....
Again this works from my local machine running from localhost, but not from our live server. I have turned on impersination to see if that worked and still getting the same result. The file is written successfully to the server without issue, but I'm just lost.
I have a web setup package project alongside an old .asmx web service. When I build it I only get 'MyService.msi' and not the 'Setup.exe' in the 'Release' folder after build. Normally the .msi suffices for installation, but on Windows Server 2008 R2 I am getting denied from installing the .msi pacakge. I can only install .exe packages after right clicking and stating "Install as Administrator".
The server admin is still new to 2008 R2 and not sure why I can't install an .msi because I am an admin, so for now if I knew how to get that web setup package to generate the Setup.exe file as well I see my other VS.NET setup packages create.
Are the Crystal Reports objects within Visual Studio (I'm using 2005) the full version or is it a trial version that is missing features?
View 1 RepliesWe have an application that is already deployed in the production environment. And currently it is using Dundas evaluation version. We tried updating it to the licensed version by simply pasting the dll file. but we got the error message as "The file has not been pre-compiled and cannot be requested".
View 1 RepliesI am attempting to create a single sign on experience between an asp.net site and a wordpress site using a simple form POST method. I have built a simple php page that uses the native wordpress functions wp_insert_user and wp_signon to create user account in the mysql db and sign them in. In my asp.net 'create new user' page code behind, I'm using the post method of an HttpWebRequest to send the required information to the php page.
It almost works! The new wordpress user is created in the mysql database, but they are not logged in. How can I get wordpress to log them in?Here is my HttpWebRequest
'get the values
Dim fn As String = TxtFirstName.Text
Dim ln As String = TxtLastName.Text[code].....
I'm try to get my site to detect what browser someone is using to ensure they're using one that is compliant with our site. Everything works, except Firefox seems to post the wrong version in the Request.Browser variables.I'm on Firefox 3.6.10, but Request.Browser shows Mozilla 1.9.2.10. It's correct in the HTTP_USER_AGENT string:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 YFF35 Firefox/3.6.10 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Is there a way to detect it better without having to parse through the HTTP_USER_AGENT string?
Is there any limit on the size/numbers in the version number of the FormsAuthenticationTicket.
I tried to create an ASP.NET cookie using forms authentication, with a large version number(ex: 1234567 need this number for identification purposes). But when I decrypt the cookie I get 135 as the version number.
Initially the old forms authentication cookie was removed, in order to add new information.
Response.Cookies.Remove(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName);
Following is the code I used to create the FormsAuthentication cookie.
FormsAuthenticationTicket newAuthTicket = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(1234567, un, DateTime.Now, DateTime.Now.AddHours(5F), false, user_data);
HttpCookie newauthCookie = new HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName, FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(newAuthTicket));
Response.Cookies.Add(newauthCookie);
After retrieving the cookie, the version number I got was 135. This number varies with different version numbers.
string cookieName = FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName;
HttpCookie authCookie = Context.Request.Cookies[cookieName];
if (authCookie == null)
{
return;
}
FormsAuthenticationTicket authTkt = null;
authTkt = FormsAuthentication.Decrypt(authCookie.Value);
if (authTkt == null)
{
return;
}
int versionID = authTkt.Version;
Can someone let me know if it's a bad idea to use such big version numbers, or am I missing something in this.
I have Visual Studio 2008 installed on this workstation with SQL 2000, 2005 Express, 2008 Express and I think 2008 R2 (not sure if that is a version itselve or not)
I will call that workstation HOME
I created some tables in SQLEXPRESS through VS2008.
I worked on this project on another workstation that I just installed VS2008 annd SQLEXPRESS 2008 and I know that was R2
Installed Visual Studio 2010 trial edition between the thiem I made the tables on HOME and tonight for the first time since that install
I am now getting the "cannot be opened becuase it is version Version 661. This Server supports version 655..."
What to do now?
I can opened SQLExpress 2008 management studio and it is running.
So is my SQL 2000. The problem seems to be that after the VS2010 install neither VS2008 or VS2010 can connect to the SQLExpress 2008
What do I do now?
I can't remove sql 2000 because it is tied to several 3+ gig databases that will not work in Express.

I'm working on a Press Release website that currently has an existing distribution platform built on ASP.NET - the site that I have built is utilizes Wordpress Multi-site and BuddyPress, and I need to share information between Wordpress & the existing ASP.NET CMS. The information that needs to be shared between both platforms is 1) Press release information (which is a custom post type in Wordpress) and 2) The login information. Is there a way to have ASP.NET get the information from the Wordpress MYSQL database? Or is the best way to write a plugin for wordpress that will send information to the ASP.NET each time a new press release is written, and each time a new user account is created. I can go either way - having ASP.NET grab the info, or Wordpress send the info out.
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to integrate a Wordpress blog with ASP.NET If yes, then how?
View 2 RepliesI am trying to automate a few things in wordpress blog, using HttpWebrequest.i have tried to get the login page "http://mywebsite.net/wp-admin"and then try to post with login data on page "http://www.mywebsite.net/wp-login.php"data = "log=admin&pwd=mypassword&wp-submit=Log+In&redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fmywebsite.net%2Fwp-admin%2F&testcookie=1"i am not able to login, wat i have discovered is that when using browser the cookies are sent to the server, but using HttpWebrequest the cookies are not sent on post, i am configured a cookiecontainer for the httpwebrequest and works fine other wise,.. and also on "post" the request host also changes to "www.mywebsite.net" and on "get" request it is "mywebsite.net"

View 4 RepliesI have a directory in my website called /MyFiction. It is an installed version of Wordpress for a particular blog and I would like to keep it to where you can only get to it if you're authenticated. I'm an old hat to ASP.NET but with MVC I'm still a newbie....
View 3 RepliesI have a wordpress website that collects data in a MySQL database and I need to magically get that data into our SQL Server database. I'm hoping it can be done in an automated way.
View 1 RepliesI need open source blog, something like Wordpress. I have a limit, whichever is the only solution that runs on IIS and uses SQL Server Express.
View 1 RepliesOur shop is primarily .NET but because of the lack of any really good popular .NET CMS products, we have chosen to use WordPress (and Drupal at times) for our public facing sites.
I realize this is highly subjective, but it is the conclusion we came to for our purposes. One could certainly make a case for DotNetNuke and others, but that is another conversation.
I would like to know if I can integrate small components into WordPress sites, primarily to do simple forms (logon, lost password, contact us, change user settings, etc...)
Can I do this with an iFrame or another method that I am not thinking about?
I am thinking of designing a home page with Wordpress with links to ASP.NET pages. Is there potentially any conflict running this on a Windows server?
View 7 RepliesI have a web site built using asp.net with ugly URLs like /DisplayContent.aspx?id=789564.
I know how to migrate the database, but the Wordpress urls will be (naturally) different.
Can I simply write some mapping or do I have to include a rewrite rule for each subpage (300 pages) in .htaccess?
Should I provide a rewrite rule for each existing page that would transform a full old url to the known new url, like for example:
/DisplayContent.aspx?id=789798 -> /2010-5-10/Title-Of-The-Post
Even if I manage to migrate the URLs, the structure of the HTML for the new content will naturally be different. How does this affect SEO?
Should I run asp.net and wordpress side by side and issue the redirects from the asp.net application?
What is the most efficient solution to this kind of migration of URLs without doing PHP programming?
