C# - Adding A List Of Tags (from UI) Into Database?

I have this food recipe asp.net c# application I'm working on and I would like to be able to insert a list of tags into the database for each recipe. So let's say I have three tags (southern, cajun, gumbo) that correspond to a gumbo recipe. How would I insert these three tags into the database from the UI? Would I store them in a List, run a foreach, and insert each tag individually? I'd really like to be able to somehow use a stored procedure to do this.

I have a dropdown list inside gridview which has a object data source and I am adding the list items as true, false which stores in the database table as a bit value. Even if i am addin the values 1 and 0 to the drop down list, its throwing the below error'grdDebug' has a SelectedValue which is invalid because it does not exist in the list of items.Parameter name: value My code to add the dropdownlist with list items are as below

I have an xsd that describes XHTML documents. However the application I'm working with may have some selected asp.net controls within to the markup at the point is validated. Therefore the validation fails.
An example control could be:
<smart:Address runat="server" />
I wanted to add a new element to the xsd file but when I specify:
<xs:element name="smart:Address">
I get validation errors as an element name must not have a colon in it.
how I might be able to extend the schema file to allow selected server controls?
I programatically add meta tags to the head of each page using htmlhead, specifying the name and content. I now need to add new meta tags with property and content.
I am generating xhtml in code that is then inserted into the page. Are there class(es) that help with adding tags etc. Then having a function that will output it to a string. (like the xml dom api) code like:
am working on website in asp.net mvc. There is form where user is asked to put some information along with the Tags similar to stackoverflow. this tags information is saved in the same table in field Tags.Now I want to show them a help to select tags from the list (same as in stackoverflow).how can i extract it from the table. Wont it be too much to run the query again and againfor each letter they type, because I will be extracting unique tags from my table. Or should i have another table tagslookup where i should save unique tags.

In my database MYDB I have a table called MYTABLE and I have a column called Description. I am saving a long description in there with multiple HTML tags.
How can i return the values and not include all the HTML tags?
Is this even possible? What will be the best way of doing this? In the SQL statement or in code behind? And how will I do it?
I read data from Excel sheet and I display this data in grid view the problem when I save this data the asp.net tell me that this page contain dangerous code I want solution to this problem but I don't want to enable EnableEventValidation for security reasons.
i need to create a textbox/text area orr any other control for a user to enter some paragraph. He must be able to give colours,formatting like 'bold' 'italics' e.t.c and finally after a busston submission, i need to pass this content to a table inside my database. From database i am sending mails to some users with this content.so this shoulld generate the html tags like <b> <i> e.t.c before sitting in the table How to do this? I am using asp.net 2.0
The pages text are modified and styled with an HTML editor (teleric). The resulting html is stored in a database. The html and style tags are stored with the text ofcourse.
Now, sometimes the HTML tags are DELETED from the text! I realize this has happened first when i see the page text totaly plain on the site. Then i go to the databse and check, and the HTML tags and styling is not there anymore!
The only thing i can think of that could be reason is a method i wrote to search in the text. It strips the texts from html tags so that only the main text will be used when searching for the string that the user has asked for. But the modified texts without HTML tags are not saved to the database. I use LINQ and i never call a SubmitChanges();
i have created a aspx page with the script manager, update panels and so on. Now, when i use some jquery functions which are included inside the head tags, when the page is run, i find the script tags generated inside the body instead of the head tag. i'm using visual studio 2005 only.
I am building a forum and I want to use forum-style tags to let the users format their posts in a limited fashion.Currently I am using Regex to do this.As per this question:How to use C# regular expressions to emulate forum tags. The problem with this,is that the regex does not distinguish between nested tags.Here is a sample of how I implemented this method:

I wrote code of chart with sqldatasource in database column. My problem is I could not able bind. I used DataList Control with a template and literal. Bind literal with <%# Eval("Code") %> But In sql I have ASP.NET tags <% %>. and when processing process %>, it assumes asp.net ends and wrote other text as it is in out put. how to bind this text. Or any other Idea to display graphs from database as per user selection.

Is there a way to apply your own CSS tags to <li> tags when using ASP .NET 4.0 menu control? For example, say I have an external style sheet that has tags "class1", "class2", "class3", and etc. I want to apply "class1" to the first menu item. Then if menu item is selected, I want to apply "class2" and if it's not selected, "class3". I played with various 'Static' styles, but just can't get it work. I finally gave up and created my own menu control that extends ASP .NET menu control and provides my own custom rendering. This works, but I'm wondering if there is a way to get it work with built-in menu control.
Adding runat="server" is not rendering my server tags <%...%>
I have a masterpage with a few <li> for menu and since I have to set class=selected for the current page, I am using a little server tag to find the url and assign the particular class.
I have total of 10 <li> and not all menu is available to all types of user, I need to toggle few of the <li> if the user is not admin, so I have runat="server" added to them so I can set their visible=false through c#
The <li> without runat="server" works fine, when on correct page the source code shows class="selected" or class="" as appropriate, the other <li> used to work fine too, until I decided to add the runat="server".
Once I added that runat="server", the whole block of class="" is being sent out to the html page, its not processing the server tags at all! I right click on the html and look at the source, it's being rendered as:
I have a dropdown list populated from the database. There is also a button next to the dropdownlist that once clicked on. It takes the item in the dropdownlist and use that to populate the gridview.however though, I would like to add a blank to the dropdownlist and message that would say, you have selected a blank whenever the user selects the blank from the dropdownlist and clicks on the button.
