I'm getting the error from the subject line when I try to move some code that formerly lived in the App_Code directory to an external library (that would be moved into the /bin directory). What do I need to include or reference to get rid of this error?
I've already included: System.Runtim.Serialization (says it's version 3.0.0, I don't see a version 3.5.0 anywhere).
At debug time I would like to see what are the keys in my InitParams collection - I can't seem to be able to list them.
EDIT:As Jon suggests below, this might be a bug within the Silverlight debugger. To reproduce, just create a new Silverlight Application within Visual Studio 2010 and just edit code
{ public partial class MainPage : UserControl { [code]...
I use the JavaScriptSerializer class of ASP.net to serialize my object and return it to the client side. How can I deserialize the string using JavaScript?
The coding language is C#3.0What is the most optimum method to retrieve all hashtable keys into string separated by a delimiter ","Is the for loop or the foreach loop the only option?
public class Package { public Package() { name = ""; type = new List<Dictionary<string, string>>(); } public string name { get; set; } public List<Dictionary<string, string>> type { get; set; } } [code]...
Is aspnet_regiis.exe secure? If i encrypt using aspnet_regiis.exe, will it automatically decrypt the string and wont give any error? Need an insight into this stuff.... Is Rsa the best option or wat? Wat's the best way to encrypt/decrypt programmatically?
My current project has many peripheral systems and many different environments (testing, integration, development etc). As expected, we're using .config files to dynamically manage everything.
Instead of updating each relavant key when deploying to an environment, I was hoping there was a way to change 1 key only. Such as:
I've done some searching and haven't come up with an elegant solution. I'm aware that .config files can make use of system variables, but this seems like a bit of a high wire act.
I have an ASP.NET website in which I have to perform a certain operation. I have to displaying the ID's from the DB on menu.aspx page in this format {1:2:3:4}. The above format is not a problem and can be just be written with
[code]....
Note that I am saying that user will type this URL. I know that query string can pass the values from one form to another but this is a single web form and if I attach this ?search=yes, it should return the result. How can this be done?

But here comes my question. I have to generate this ID when the user types the query within the URL somewhat like

I have a simple function that is supposed to create a string of year values(separated by a comma) from a form that contains checkboxes for a set of years.
[Code]....
The problem is, it is doubling data somehow. For example, if I check the checkboxes for 2008, 2009, 2010, it will return :
,2010,2010,2009,2010,2009,2008
But I can't figure out why it is doing this...is there something I am doing wrong?
I am trying to serialize an object that has a public member of type ArrayList. If I am reading this correctly, an ArrayList is a serializeable member. My class looks like this:
[DataContract(Name="Family")] public class Family { private int _FamilyID; [DataMember]
[Code]....
But then I'm serializing more of the properties than I want. I would be happy to either a) figure out how to get DataContractJsonSerializer to serialize my ArrayList or b) get JavaScriptSerializer to have the effect of honoring a datacontract. I understand that JavaScriptSerializer is depricated so I suppose DataContractJsonSerializer is the way to go if possible.
I am developing a webiste in ASP.NET. On one of the pages page named menu.aspx, with the help of a certain login, I am getting the output in this format
foo({"1":"Jeff","2":"Mik","5":"Tom"});
I am using this code to get the output on the JSON form.
[Code]....
However, I must get the output only in simple JSON on the page without any HTML.
For eg: Here's the screenshot showing the source of the output page. [URL]
Notice that it has only the JSON string as the output.
And here's the screenshot showing the output page source (with HTML). [URL] .This HTML is what I have to remove. How can do I do this? The full code of menu.aspx.cs is putup here. [URL]
I'm using Json.NET and I'm trying to create a JSON string representing a row from a database table to return in an HTTP response. I'm not sure how to do this while I'm reading from the database.The problem is marked by the obnoxious comments /******** ********/
// connect to DB theSqlConnection.Open(); // open the connection SqlDataReader reader = sqlCommand.ExecuteReader();
System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer s = new System.Web.Script.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer(); result = s.Deserialize<Hashtable>(data); Error is thrown if data is "{a:""test" 123",b:"hello" }" No error is thrown if data is "{a:"test 123",b:"hello" }"
How do I adjust the data string so that no error is thrown even when there are quotes?
I have a class that contains an enum property, and upon serializing the object using JavaScriptSerializer, my json result contains the integer value of the enumeration rather than its string "name". Is there a way to get the enum as a string in my json without having to create a custom JavaScriptConverter? Perhaps there's an attribute that I could decorate the enum definition, or object property, with?As an example:
I have some stored JSON strings stored in the DB which I want to return to the client as JsonResult . I know that Json(object) turns an object into JsonResult but what if I already have the result in a string ? can I cast it to JsonResult
