I am using DbProviderFactories.GetFactoryClasses() method to check odp.net exists or not. It works perfectly fine when odp.net is not installed or when it is installed. But when I unistall odp.net 10g then also it shows odp.net provider exists. I have checked registry it doesn't show odp.net. better way to check if odp.net exists or not.

View 4 RepliesI cannot install the proper Visual Studio 2010 because I have the Visual Studio RC isntalled and I cannot uninstall the Visual Studio RC because it crasches. I think my last option is to download the Visual Studio RC install files again and repair that installation and then uninstall it to later install the release version of Visual Studio 2010. Does any one know where I can find the Visual Studio RC install files again?

Cannot uninstall the specified feature(s) because the SQL table 'aspnet_Membership' in the database '[DBNAME]' is not empty. You must first remove all rows from the table. Is there a way to tell SqlServices or any other class in .NET to erase those old data too?
I installed Visual Web Developer 2010 on a machine that already had SQL Server 2008 Professional on it. Now that machine is running both SQL 2008 Professional and SQL 2008 Express instances.
Is there an easy way to uninstall the Express instance?
I recently "inadvertantly" installed VWD 2010. I still have my Visual Studio 2008 (full version) installed and want to remove VWD 2010. I want to recompile my active projects under VS 2008. Here are the steps I am planning to undertake. Am I missing anything?
1. Save all active projects 2. Remove VWD 2010 using "Uninstall Programs" from the control panel.3. remove ASP 4.0 via the same route.4. Reinstall VS 2008 5. Reinstall all service packs.Will this bring me back to a fully functional VS 2008? Need I make any additional registry changes?For the record, I do like VWD 2010 and would like to upgrade to the professional version but I cannot afford to do so at this time. I need to build some console applications and this is not possible under VWD. I am also unable to install C# Express.

View 7 RepliesI have installed SQL Server 2008 express, reinstall it with advanced services, uninstall TFS 2010 and tries to reinstall it but fails. It doesn't want to completely uninstall.
So I'd like to clean everything by hand (deleting registries, folders) but can't find any info. I have deleted install directory but installer still memorized that TFS is installed.
I downloaded the Beta Version for .Net 4 and Visual Web Developer 2010. Now I want to delete them and get the New versions. It will not delete. Visual Web Developer will not install without the .Net 4 Framework.

I have an application that I'm deploying via the Publish Wizard from Visual Studio 2008. I've added some code to my application that adds a few registry keys. I'd like to execute some code during the uninstall process to remove these registry keys.

I uninstalled everything that said VS2010 in the Programs area and am now attempting to reinstall the MSDN copy. It does not work. Now with this user (xxxx) name I installed .net Windows Application. It was working fine. For some reasons I renamed the original windows Login user(xxxx) to different say (yyyy). I am a new to WCF. I have written ajax to use a web service before, but on this project I am trying to use ajax to WCF.After I build the project and wcf using ajax, I receive the return successfully. But, 10 or more minutes later I don't get a return, the ajax calls the error function, and the fiddler returns nothing.
If I rebuild the project without any source modifying, I receive the return successfully again.
In regards to web development PHP works seamlessly embedded inside HTML pages and is parsed before the HTML itself (hence the name PHP!).I'm thinking of starting to learn ASP.NET and C# and it greatly boggles me how do these two Microsoft technologies work in tandem when compared to PHP which is a single entity in itself. I still can't understand how any logic written in C# files is tied to HTML pages that contain ASP.NET scripts.

Problem: not updating collections with FK's.
Example:

Mapped right using References<Category> and HasMany<Forum>. Conventions are as follows.

Now, I've tried every possible setting for inverse, all the different cascades, on both sides. Nothing works. It just flat fails, telling me it can't insert NULL for Forum.CategoryId (field, not entity prop).
