How do I disable the Url Encoding? Or is this valid? I'm trying to do this for SEO purposes.
I have a HyperLink on my usercontrol in which I set onlick event dynamically on the server side like this:
this.Attributes["onclick"] = string.Format("javascript:alert('{0}')", base.NavigateUrl);
The problem is that when Asp.net renders the page, it ends up with something like this
<a href='...' onclick="javascript:alert('TEST')>LINK</a>
which obviously is not valid Javascript. Using " instead of ' wouldn't help neither, the generated HTML is alert("TEST")
I have discovered that the NavigateUrl is encoding the URL when it render it. It is a bit of a problem for me in Denmark because we have domianname with special charters. ex. [URL] the hyperlink control render it like [URL]
View 4 RepliesI am using a DataList to display records from SQL backend in ASP.net 2.0 Framework 3.5. In the ItemDataBound I am setting up a Hyperlink's URL and enabling/disabling it based on data.
The HTML is as follows:-
[Code]....
and in the vb code:-
[Code]....
This is all working correctly in IE, but in Opera, FireFox and Safari while the Hyperlink works, the control is not disabled if Stk.Docs = 0.
I have four Imagebuttons that I want to disable depending on the Role the user belongs too. I know how do do this in a gridview or detailsview but for some reason it isn't working on just a plain form. So when a User who is not in the "Admin" role logs onto the page he either doesn't see the button or the hyperlink has been disabled thus not allowing him to proceed any further.

What's the likely reason for this and how can I debug or fix it?

View 1 RepliesI am a newbie in asp.net. I am trying to load the text and the URL into hyperlink from a database. After debugging, I found out that the value is successfully loaded into the hyperlink control, however it doesn't shows at the html code? Does anyone knows how this happened?

How to create an OnClick event for hyperlink control? Can we use Attributes.Add("OnClick","eventname")?
View 1 RepliesI have the following piece of code.

I am outputting the content of a page from a subroutine. The weird thing is, the code behind is writing this to my aspx page. <asp:Hyperlink ID="HyperLink1" runat="server" CssClass="HoverMenuText">more</asp:HyperLink>
When the page is viewed live, the hyperlink is not a hyperlink because using the browser to "View Source", the html shows the exact same line! It wasn't converted to the format like "<a id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_HyperLinkHover">HoverMenuTest</a>" So for some reason, the server is not converting this asp control to an html control. Any ideas why it wouldn't do that?
Now for the final thing! I am trying to open up the page in a new window but get a string error that I can't figure out:http://churchmouse.firkinpubs.com%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20target=_blank/Here is my code
myMarker.Text =
"<b>" & (irow("BarName")) &
"</b>" &
"<br/>" & (irow("Address")) &
"<br/>" & (irow("BarDescription")) &
"<br/>" & (irow("Email")) &

I'm trying to code a pop-up box using the hyperlink control because I want to control the visibility of this control from my .cs file, I have a working code using the standard HTML link control however when I tried using the hyperlink control, it doesn't work at all.

somehow my page reads the "Eval" line as pure text and doesnt pass the 'NewId' gotten from my enum into it.
How can I write an url in a Hyperlink from code as in
Label1.Text="My Text";
I would like to be able to do something like
string MyLink;
MyLink="myurl.aspx";
ListView1.FindControl("HyperLink1").Url=MyLink;
I have a remove hyperlink which is created in a literal and I want it to post some data (a number in a text box). I think this should be possible but when a user clicks the remove link I want to be able to pick up what is in some text boxes. So in short existing click triggers postback, so I can use request.form("txt1")
View 5 RepliesI have found a code snippet as given below which is used to disable file monitoring (file change notification) on IIS server, but the code is not working as expected. The monitor object below is getting NULL value. Not sure if there is some more additional code required or any other settings required. Can anyone suggest why this could be getting NULL value or suggest if there is any better way to doing this in C# -
//FIX disable AppDomain restart when deleting subdirectory
//This code will turn off monitoring from the root website directory.
//Monitoring of Bin, App_Themes and other folders will still be operational, so updated DLLs will still auto deploy.
System.Reflection.PropertyInfo p = typeof(System.Web.HttpRuntime).GetProperty("FileChangesMonitor", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.NonPublic | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Public | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Static);
object o = p.GetValue(null, null);
System.Reflection.FieldInfo f = o.GetType().GetField("_dirMonSubdirs", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Instance | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.NonPublic | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.IgnoreCase);
object monitor = f.GetValue(o); //Returns NULL
System.Reflection.MethodInfo m = monitor.GetType().GetMethod("StopMonitoring", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Instance | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.NonPublic); m.Invoke(monitor, new object[] { });
this is in my aspx page:
<asp:HyperLink ID="lnkAll" runat="server" CssClass="links_b"></asp:HyperLink>
<asp:GridView ID="gridfeatured" runat="server" AllowSorting="false" AllowPaging="false" AutoGenerateColumns="false"
ShowHeader="false" GridLines="None" CssClass="grid" CellSpacing="5">
<Columns>
<asp:TemplateField itemStyle-CssClass="gridrc">
<ItemTemplate>
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<asp:HyperLink ID="lnkLogo" runat="server" >
.
.
.
.
now, in code behind it is'nt allowing me to use lnklogo.navigateurl("...") property.
whereas it is allowing me to use lnkall.navigateurl("...").
i think this is because the lnklogo is inside gridviews tempalte field. what is the solution to this.
i cannot provide navigateurl in aspx page and have to provide it in code behind since i want to do a conditional loop on it.
html
<asp:DataGrid ID="Grid" runat="server" PageSize="5" AllowPaging="True" DataKeyField="itemid"
AutoGenerateColumns="False" CellPadding="4" ForeColor="#333333" GridLines="None" OnPageIndexChanged="Grid_PageIndexChanged" OnCancelCommand="Grid_CancelCommand"
OnDeleteCommand="Grid_DeleteCommand" OnEditCommand="Grid_EditCommand" OnUpdateCommand="Grid_UpdateCommand">

<asp:HyperLinkColumn HeaderText="FirstName" DataTextField="FirstName" datanavigateurlfield="itemid"
datanavigateurlformatstring="details_title.aspx?itemid={0}" ></asp:HyperLinkColumn>

View 1 RepliesI have a scenario where a RadioButtonList needs to be in disabled mode by default and then on some event on client side, say, when a checkbox is checked, it needs to be enabled.
But once I disable it from code-behind, the javascript part of enabling it doesn't work.
I have a .swf flash gallery that loads pics from a XML file.the probelm is when I modify the XML the modifications do not reflect on the flash till I delete the browsing cache from the browser
I tried to disable caching using code like this

Response.AddHeader("Pragma","no-cache");
Response.Expires = -1;
