C# - Formview Paging Controls Not Showing?

I have a formview which displays a recordset based on a parameter supplied by a dropdownlist. The formview has "AllowPaging = True".
The first time the dropdownlist is changed, the formview shows the (correct) first row of the retrieved recordset but the paging controls are missing. From that point on, when the dropdownlist is changed, the formview works as expected, showing the correct page controls.
What do I need to do to have the formview show the page controls the first time it is activated?

I'd like to implement a custom paging template for my formview that displays numeric paging as well as next/previous buttons. The pre-defined templates only appear to have numeric first last as an option. Can anyone recommend a good article that covers this?

I'm still begginer in ASP.net and wonder whether is it possible to assing a keyboard shortcut to next (previous) page command. For example: after press PageUp on keyboard - the next record is shown in FormView, after press PageDown - previous record?

I have a web app where everytime I upload an Excel file, its contents appears in Gridview, which is binded with a DataTable. Using the properties, I have set paging and sorting to true.
When I input a file using fileupload and a submit button, the web app has page numbers at the bottom appear.
It also correctly sorts it, (my page size is set to 10), however, when i click on the next page (pg 2, for instance), nothing shows up until i upload the file and hit submit again.
This is the code in which I build the table:

I am displaying selectable rows in a gridview. The selected row uses a stored procedure to display all the fields in a formview when the Select button is clicked.
Only a small subset of the fields in the selected row are editable. When I click the Edit button only the EditItemTemplate fields show up, the read-only fields from the ItemTemplate disappear. I want the read-only rows to remain visible with the editable rows.
If I include the read-only fields in the EditItemTemplate, I get an error when I click Update on the FormView. The error states that there are too many parameters being passed to the stored procedure to update fields. How can I continue to show the read-only fields with the editable fields on the FormView and avoid getting the input parameter error on the stored procedure for the Update command?

i have the following scenario: one formview. when in editmode there is a child formview linked to the other by a column value. i need to take the value of one of the values of parent formview controls and set it to a textbox of child formview in insert mode. I wish to know which event should I use in codebehind to bind both controls? (that escenario will have paging and must keep the binding as if it was master detail)

I have a page with a FormView on it. The page is strictly for adding records to a Table. I have the FormView bound to an EntityDataSource and everything works greate except for one thing.
I want to initialize a date field in the FormView to today's date. So, in my page_load event I have:

The first time this page loads, the txtSetupDate field is initialized.
Although, and subsequent loads of the page doesn't initialize the Text Box. I step through the code in the debugger and I can see that the code is executig, but something (the FormView bind?) is "clearing" the Text Box.

I would like to ask if it is possible to access data on a master FormView from a nested detail FormView.
I have a main form (master) with several tabs (detail) and would like to display a label with text from main form that is hidden by the tab at the moment of editting. My asp page looks like this.

I am passing the PageNumber and PageSize to a stored procedure, which returns only that page of data. It also returns a record count what the total number of records would be if I returned all of them at once.Generally, how do i hook this up to the DataGridView to enable paging?It seems like the expectation is for the resultset to contain the complete dataset. Many of the properties that I expect to be able to set, like RecordCount, appear to be read only.

I have a formview that I am adding and editing items. I need to have a lookup button besides a textbox so I can click the button and show a webgrid listing items with their descriptions. Select one and enter the data in the formview control. I know how to put the data in the formview control with the FormView.FindControl method. But how can I add a lookup? Can I do this with a popup panel? And on the postback update the textbox control?

I have a gridview which has 4 columns, each holding an ImageButton in a templateField column. When I click on one of these image buttons the clicked upon image is displayed in Image1 using GridView1_RowCommand and this works fine.
However, when I click on one of the page numbers on the gridview the Image1 control resets to its original state and loses its ImageUrl.

So I am using EW + Access database to create a page.
This page contains two controls. First control is Dropdownlist which databinds with second control Listview.
This listview has paging on becuse of multiple pages. If I don't use QueryStringField paging works but if I use QueryStringField paging doesn't work and it goes back to first option of Dropdownlist.

I have a gridview within an updatepanel which allows paging and has a linkbutton that when clicked shows a modalpopup for editing records. This works fine in IE, Firefox, and Opera but I do not get a postback in Chrome or Safari?? I have other linkbuttons on the page that are within updatepanels but are not within gridviews that are working fine. I have scowered the web but cannot find a solution.

Header controls like create ,delete are created by using templated user controls (ITemplate) .
The controls are working in all pages except the last page when paging is enabled in grid view.

have two detailsview controls on the same page, one showing pictures, one showing the comment on the current picture. I separated them because they are in different parts of the page (just in case someone was wondering why). They both bind on the same objectdatasource. The issue is that since I use paging to navigate the pictures and i dont know how to also update the comment detailsview control to the same page as the picture.
