View 3 RepliesOn my web form I have a Calendar Control. The Calendar Control works fine. The problem is that it changes sizes all of the time based on how many entries are in the date cells. For example: if one month contains information in a cell for each day the Calendar control expands in size taking up more space on the web page. Then if the next month the date cells don't contain any information the Calendar control shrinks in size taking up less space on the web page as the previous month.
I made up a maximum amount of entries that will be entered for each day of the month and then set the height and width to that size but still if there is less data in the date cells the Calendar control continues to shrink.
How can I force the Calendar control to stay at the fixed height and width that I would like to set?
I have an application that is hosted in Server 2008 Standard Edition.It has more than 50 active users that uses it. The problem is that when Temporary file size of Windows (C:Windows emp) reaches around 10MB, than the application blocks and the reports cannot be generated.When we clear this temp folder and reset Refresh IIS, the application starts working again.Below is the code we use to generate reports:

<asp:Label ID="lblOrderID" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("Observacion") %>'></asp:Label>

View 7 RepliesI have a GridView control inside one Update Panel and a detail section inside another Update Panel. Initially, the detail section is hidden and when a GridView row is selected, the Detail panel becomes visible. Everything works fine except that if the GridView contains more rows and covers most of the user's screen, screen doesn't shits to the start of Detail section.I can use anchor but was just wondering if there is any other way of achieving this. Also the Detail section has multiple nested Update Panels and if I use anchor, then any of the child Update Panel's update will move the screen to the beginning of the detail Section.
View 4 RepliesCurrently I have to use javascript to post back client Width and Height.
But this is relatively a simple task which I think many people will need.
Like drag and drop a special control, or AJAX control or something like that which I can easily get the client screen size automagically. :)

I am trying to increase the size of file upload for my ASP.NET app.. (Windows 2008 Enterprise + IIS 7)
What I have done in web.config:
<system.webServer>
<security>
<requestFiltering allowDoubleEscaping="true">
<requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="100000000" />
</requestFiltering>
</security>
</system.webServer>
I have two panels in a formview. The first panel has a dynamically set image to be used as a stationary background and it has a fixed size. Inside of this panel, I have a second panel with its Z-index set to overlay the first panel. This second "text" panel has five labels in it. These five labels contain text of varying lengths. Some much longer than others.
How can I dynamically change the font size of the labels in the second panel (or the panel as a whole) so that the text (remember it has verying lengths) is contained within the margins of the stationary panel?
I am not certain that using panels is the right way to accomplish this, but could find no other way to do the overlay concept.
I should've mentioned - I am working in VB.
We have a website portal hosted in Windows 2003 server. For security reasons we are using different windows Login user say (xxxx) for signin other than Administrator. Now with this user (xxxx) name I installed .net Windows Application. It was working fine. For some reasons I renamed the original windows Login user(xxxx) to different say (yyyy). Now this .net Windows Application is not working with (yyyy) and even it is not allowing me to uninstall it.

View 2 RepliesI want to understand the interaction of telephone with webforms application.
In order to do that I want to create a small application which will be able to receive multiple calls at a time, place them in a queue and then forward calls one by one to a call answerer.
It should also be able to retrieve the Caller Id i.e number from which the call is being made.
How this may be achieved?
If there is any ready made solution available with source code pls provide links.

View 2 RepliesI'm experiencing a to me mysterious error when sending e-mails through a SMTP-server from an ASP.NET web application. I get the famous error "unable to relay for xxx@yyy.zzz". What's mysterious to me is that when I cut and paste the exact same code that sends the e-mail into an usual .NET Windows Forms application, send the e-mail with this application, it all works just fine. This made me think that perhaps the problem is that the ASP.NET application runs as NETWORK SERVICE while the Windows Forms application runs on a domain user account, but it turns out that I have another ASP.NET application sending e-mail through the same SMTP-server running under NETWORK SERVER at the same IIS, and this application does not experience this problem.
I've further tried to send e-mails through the SMTP-server manually by telnet the smtp-server on port 25 and running the SMTP-protocol manually, and it all works fine. The SMTP-server is not configured with any kind of authentication or SSL.
Another mysterious fact is that the ASP.NET application can send e-mails from an adress within the same domain to an e-mail adress within the same domain, but not to any adress outside of the domain. But the Windows Forms application, that uses the exact same code, can send e-mails from any adress to any adress both within AND outside of the domain.
So to summarize:
The ASP.NET application can send
e-mails from addresses within the
domain to adresses within the domain,
but not to addresses outside of the
domain.
A Windows Forms application running
the same code on the same computer
can send e-mails from ANY address to
ANY address.
Another ASP.NET application on the
same IIS running under the same
account (NETWORK SERVICE) can send
e-mails using the same SMTP-server
from ANY adress to ANY adress.
There is no authentication configured
on the SMTP-Server.
Both the ASP.NET application and the
Windows Forms application utilizes
the System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient class
to send a
System.Net.Mail.MailMessage.
The code that sends the e-mail massage is:
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
MailMessage mesasge = new MailMessage(txtFrom.Text, txtTo.Text, "Test mail", txtBody.Text);
SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient();
if (!(string.IsNullOrEmpty(txtUserName.Text))) //Is false since txtUserName.Text is empty
client.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(txtUserName.Text, txtPassword.Text);
client.EnableSsl = false;
client.Host = txtServer.Text;
client.Port = 25;
try
{
client.Send(mesasge);
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
txtResponse.Text = ex.Message;
}
}
As far as I can understand, this should be a matter of configuration rather than coding issues.
Currently we are running an application build in VB6,ASP,Commerce Server2000 and Sql Server 2000. This application is running in Windows 2000 server.Now we are planning to migrate Windows server 2000 to Windows 2008.Will this application run in Windows 2008 or do we need to upgrade this application to dotnet and Sql 2008?

How can i create a window that holds Patient data in it? The 2 records that you see is in List View. I would then using ContextMenuStrip for text "View Details". When View Details is clicked i need to show the context. For web development this could be done via Javascript,div and panels. How that should be WinForms?
I have some common dlls that are referenced by both a windows service application and a asp.net web application. I don't want to make separate copies of the dlls and I also don't want to put those dlls into GAC. I try to put that service application under the same root folder as the web application so that they can share the same bin folder. I am not quite sure if this will cause any problems? I did find the web application had random session timeout, but not very often. Not sure if it was caused by the shared dlls.
View 1 RepliesI have a simple windows form app that I need to get the file path for. I am placing a config file in the same directory and I need to be able to get the path to that file.
I have used
Application.CommonAppDataPath
but that returns the path with 1.0.0.0 at the end.
and
Applicaiton.StartupPath
but that returns the path with indebug at the end
Is there anyway to get the path to just the main file directory without anything appended to the end?
