C# - Solution File Opens Up Precompiled Code In Inetpub
Jan 4, 2010
I have a folder that contains ASPX code and it's codebehind (C#) as well as a solution file. The compiled version of the application resides in the inetpub directory. Whenever I open the solution in Visual Studio, VS warns me that it is attempting to open a precompiled website and asks me if I want to continue. If I click NO it does nothing, but If I click yes it shows me the ASPX files in the inetpub directory. How do I make the solution work with that code in the directory that it is in (ie with the aspx and codebehind)?
I have a precompiled file done by some other person. I need to make some changes to the code. However when I open the folder on asp.net, the pages display as aspx pages only with no cs or vb files. how can I approach the code behind files in those aspx pages.
I just published my website to my webhost, and for some reason it's giving me errors. So I copied the solution and it works correctly.
What could the problem be? I think a possible problem may be that there's a process that creates a directory so it can copy files. By copying everything from the solution to the ftp, everything works correctly. If I publish the site, it somehow does not create the directories.
Is there something I'm not doing correctly? I've published in a local folder, and then copied to the FTP. I've also published directly to the FTP. Neither of them work.
this seems to be a problem only on my new PC, not my prior PC or my coworkers PCs. But, as far as I know, I have installed VS2005 the same way, including the VS80-KB915364-X86-ENU.exe and WebApplicationProjectSetup.msi additions.
I have a VS2005 Solution called 'Intranet' made up of several web projects. One of those web projects is also called 'Intranet'. All of the projects should load as Web Application Projects, which they did on my prior PC.
Now, the 'Intranet' project seems to be opening as a Web Site project. The name of the project in the solution now shows as "C:...Intranet" instead of just "Intranet" and is not recognized as being part of the SourceSafe project(no lock icon shows). If I right-click this project, "Build Web Site" is one option.
we have an application in production and the code is in Pre-Compiled form. The developer who developed that application left the company and we don't have any backup of source code. the only access we have is Pre Compiled code in the server. We need to fix the issues in the application now.Is there any way to Decompile (extract to actual source code) the PreCompiled code ?
I currently use Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4.0. I have been precompiling my site regularly for several years before uploading to our production or distribution server, using aspnet_compiler.exe, and have had no problems. When I tried to precompile and upload a few days ago, I got the following error message when I try to acccess one particular page (the rest of the site works fine):
The file '/Library/LibraryHome.aspx' has not been pre-compiled, and cannot be requested. The only significant change from the previous time I precompiled was that I had installed the AJAX Extensions and tried to use one of the controls on a page in the /Library folder (not LibraryHome.aspx but a different page). I eventually gave up on that control and removed it from the page, so there is no AJAX in the site.
I read in various forum posts regarding this error that it often occurs when one or more assemblies are missing when the site is uploaded. When I precompile, I completely empty the folder that it's going to compile into, and then when I upload the site to our production server, I delete everything in that folder also. I cannot find any assemblies that are missing. Everything in the bin folder of my local version of the site exists in the bin folder of the compiled version. I even uninstalled the AJAX Extensions, but nothing I've done removes this error message. I've checked the listing of assemblies in web.config and don't see anything it's calling for that isn't in the compiled site.
I have the compiled output from a site which uses asp precompilation. The .aspx files are just a placeholder and there are .compiled files for each .aspx. I'm trying to reconstruct a site's .aspx files from the precompiled assemblies. I've looked in the compiled assemblies using reflector but reconstructing the .aspx looks like a bigger task than what I was hoping for. I have a relatively short timeframe for this.Does anyone know of any easy way? Are there any tools out there that can acheive this task?
I am having the text file which is used to track all the ip address which is available in the network and replace the content from"Reply from 172.29.116.3: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255" to 172.29.116.3.
For this task i am having 2 functions 1.runCMD() Function is used to create a file which ping all the ip address between 3 to 254 ("Reply from 172.29.116.3: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255").
2.Another function textFileReplace() which is used to replace the text from "Reply from 172.29.116.3: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255" to 172.29.116.3.
This process will continue every 30 minutes..
But i am having the error while accessing the function textFileReplace() as The process cannot access the file 'C:inetpub' because it is being used by another process.
In my application i allow users to download a csv file from the App. When a user clicks on the Download file link , they see the Download file dialog box. My problem is that some o f the files opens as an HTML document. This happens intermittently.
I have an old application built with J#.Now I'm changing and adding some stuff to it, but when I test it, something happens that didnt before. The application is a document administration system with bills and other documents in PDF, XLS and DOC.When I open a PDF (which opens inline in an iframe in my bowser) the session somehow dies.ever happened before, just saw it today when I was making the changes to the app.If I send the header "content-disposition" as attachment, the session remains. but if I send it inline (which I need) it
i have genarated a xml file through the asp.net code as
public bool createxml() { DataSet ds = new DataSet(); clsRegister obj = new clsRegister(); int i = 0; string strpath = string.Empty; XmlTextWriter objwriter = new XmlTextWriter(Console.Out); ds = obj.searchgallery(4); try { strpath = "d:\hellojhasi\glance\jhansigallery\gallery.xml"; objwriter = new XmlTextWriter(strpath, System.Text.Encoding.Default); if (ds.Tables[0].Rows.Count > 0) { for (i = 0; i < ds.Tables[0].Rows.Count; i++) { objwriter.WriteStartElement("picturegallery"); objwriter.WriteElementString("fullimage", ds.Tables[0].Rows[i]["fullimage"].ToString()); objwriter.WriteElementString("thumbnail", ds.Tables[0].Rows[i]["thumbnail"].ToString()); objwriter.WriteElementString("title", ds.Tables[0].Rows[i]["title"].ToString()); objwriter.WriteElementString("description", ds.Tables[0].Rows[i]["description"].ToString()); objwriter.WriteElementString("height", ds.Tables[0].Rows[i]["height"].ToString()); objwriter.WriteElementString("width", ds.Tables[0].Rows[i]["width"].ToString()); objwriter.WriteEndElement(); } } else { objwriter.WriteEndElement(); } objwriter.Flush(); } catch (Exception e) { } return true; }
the code executed well.but the xml file when opens gives the following error
The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document. Error processing resource 'file:///D:/HelloJhasi/glance/jhansigal...
I converted my 2008 Web Projects to 2010 Projects, so the database project also converted to 2010 and changed the project file extentions.
Even though i didn't change anything in database project, each time when i open the project in Visual Studio the .dbmdl file is changing, i can't see what is changing in side it, i have to commit this change each time into Source Control.
Out of all the projects that contribute to MVC, I've added only the System.Web.Mvc project to my solution and I'm having trouble with the compilation of the aspx files. Firstly the page compiler complained that ViewResult<T> (which my View inherits from) was specified in two assemblies - the copy in the source code and the one in the GAC. I fixed this by changing my copy of the source code to a higher version and referencing the different verison within the 'compilation' tag in web.config. (In fact you can just delete the assembley reference altogether and it automatically uses the one in the solution.) Then it complained that Html helper methods couldn't find classes such as 'Controller'. Now I think this is because the official MVC assemblies in the GAC are looking for the correct version of 'System.Web.Mvc' (i.e. the one with the right public key) but my app is no longer referencing it.
I thought I'd fixed this with an assembley redirect to my version of the code but now the View templates are complaining about inheriting from classes that are in an assembley with the wrong public key.So is what I'm doing possible or do I need to be recompiling all of the MVC source code?
Chapter 19: Physical Tiers and Deployment on MSDN describes "Distributed Deployment" (see figure 2). All well and good.
In my experience we've always deployed our web based systems as per what they describe as "Nondistributed Deployment" (figure 1). My understanding is that in the Microsoft world the "Application Server" as a separate thing doesn't really exist (as it does in the Java world) because it's effectively 'baked in' to the OS / Windows.
I know one answer is to use a "service layer" - what are the alternatives? How would you actually do that? What would it look like from a code perspective?
What do I have to add to c:inetpubwwwroot folder to serve aspx pages to browsers? My webproject is in this folder but I think I'm missing something for running ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC webpages.
I want to create a Dynamic aspx Page in current solution through code-behind..forexample i have a 2 text-boxes one for page-Title another another for page-Content and a button.. whenever that button is pressed, An aspx Page should be created in current solution and should be included in the current solution
I have problem using Visual Studio.NET 2003. When I open solution made early ago, choose the code of the existing .aspx page, could not change it, because when type nothing happened, no letter, no sign, like the keyboard is "dead" (but it is not, ofcourse).
I have a web app, can upload images when running it on the local development machine, but when runnign it on WebServer 2008, it gives me an error saying "access is denied". I konw it is something to do with security, but how do I make it such that an internet user can have acces to it. The folder is located in: c:inetpubsiteimages494
I'm trying to create a .NET solution and add class libraries to it. First - in VS2008 I go to File > New > Project > Other Project Types > Visual Studio Solutions > Blank Solution. Then - after VS2008 creates the blank solution I right click on the solution and select Add > New Project > Visual C# > Class Library. However, when I add the Class Library to the solution, the solution icon disappears from Solution Explorer (although the solution name is still in the VS2008 title bar). Why does the solution icon disappear from the Solution Explorer when I attempt to do this?
I have a document that I have included in my VS 2010 solution. It is in a folder called "MyFolder" the file itself is called "MyDoc.docx". I've tried the following ways to open the file but none work:
Stream s = File.OpenRead("/MyFolder/MyDoc.docx"); and Stream s = File.OpenRead("MyFolder/MyDoc.docx"); and Stream s = File.OpenRead("~/MyFolder/MyDoc.docx");
I have been asked to modify an ASP.NET 3.5 web application. The solution file does not appear to be present on the web server, but there is a DLL. Is it possible to modify the solution by "reverse engineering" the DLL?
