I am trying to put the select command in code behind:
sdsAdd.SelectCommand = String.Format("SELECT Classes.ClassId, Committed, CallNumber, SubjectArea, CourseNumber, SectionNumber, GradingBasis, NumberOfUnits, NetId FROM Classes INNER JOIN EnrollmentAdjustmentClasses ON EnrollmentAdjustmentClasses.ClassId=Classes.ClassId
WHERE AllFormsId='4' AND SectionId='1' AND NetId=@NetId AND Committed='True' AND EnrollmentAdjustmentClasses.FormId={0}", Request.QueryString["FormId"].ToInteger32());
gvAdd.DataBind();
When I do that, then click edit to edit the selected item, the item disappears from my gvadd. What am I doing wrong?
below is the code I have but I want to change the ddl.Deal(dropdownlist) to cbl.Deal(checkboxlist).. How can I loop throught each items if checked. and if all items are checked. to filter my data and show in gridview..

Two ListBox Items Compare and Distinct Values Insert Into Third ListBox
View 1 RepliesI'm having trouble getting selected items in a listbox to be seen as selected. On my aspx page there's a listbox and a button:
[Code]....
But if I change my condition to Not selected, the string does build, with every item in the list. So the Sub is reached, the items and their text and values are seen, but user selection of items doesn't work. What am I missing?
I am building a web site, it's used to manage the data in SQL server so the another web site(connect to the same SQL database) can receive the new infoSo far I've build 2 parts, one manages the news system, the another manages the album system, news manage system work perfect, when I update, add or delete news form the web site (using sqldatasource, INSERT, DELETE and UPDATE command), the data inside SQL changes as well.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to update items in my SQL database from a ListView. It works, but all entries in the database update. Not just the one I'm working on. I backed up the database prior to testing, so there's not any issues there.This is how my SqlDataSource UPDATE command is setup:
SQL Code:
UPDATE entries SET duration = @duration, checkinDate = @checkinDate, receivedBy = @receivedBy, cosmeticDmgIn = @cosmeticDmgIn, STATUS = N'closed'
I don't have any code setup to update the database, which is probably the issue.When I load the ListView, select edit, type in my edits, and click "Update", all the rows in my database, for that column, are updated with that data.I tried inserting the parameters manually, within the ItemUpdating event, but it never works.
Can you add a row of data programatically and bind it to the gridview? If so, how?
I have a grid with 2 columns. One of these columns is a template that runs a function and delivers an output. Within that function I need to manually add data that is not present in the sqldatasource to the grid and use it when performing aggregate functions.
ColumnA - ColumnB
1 - MyFunction(1) - adds new row (1, B)and returns A to column B.
2 - MyFunction(2) - May return just A
Grid should look like
1 - A
1 - B
2 - A
Even though SQLDataSource only returns
1 - AB
2 - A
I have a series of dropdownlists on webform in ASP 4.0. The first drop down is filled upon load, and then when a user selects a value from that list, it populates the second dropdown. To accomplish this, I have a SQLdatasource with a parametersource of the first drop-down list control. This works great, except when a user changes their selection from the first drop down. It performs the query, but then adds the list of items to the ones that were already there from the previous selection, instead of replacing it with the new data. Here is the code:
[Code]....
Do I need to do something on selectedindexchanged to somehow "clear out" the previous datasource? I can't find anything about this online, although one person seemed to suggest it was related to using a master page. (which I am using).
I'm looking for the easiest way to bind data from a SqlDataSource to textboxes dropped in Visual Studio 2008.
For example, I have 4 textboxes currently that have Address, City, State, Zip. I also have a SqlDataSource on the page fetching the ID of the record and selecting those 4 fields based on ID.
How am I able to quickly bind each box to those particular fields selected? I would think this would be really straight forward - but seems it's not. Seems like the answer is funneled towards having to create a GridView or some type of control.
how can i access the my sqldatasource selected datasource for modification and adding for example new datacolumns before binding??where is the best place to perform these modifications ?i guess SqlDataSource1_Selected is the right place, but i don't know how ?
View 1 RepliesHow to get all items from Listbox. i need to load all item from Listbox to my database. how to get collection of item and how to save it into databse.
View 3 RepliesOn a modular popup I have placed a checkboxlist and added items programmatically. Unfortunately I cannot get all selected items when I click the Ok Button. Me.CheckBoxListAddMyPoint.Items.Count is equal to 0 even if there are checked values.
View 8 RepliesI have a list box which is populated using a dictioanry. When I iterate throught the selected items using the following code, it always show only the first items as selected - even if the first item is not selected. Have you ever encountered this scenario? This problem occurs when I use dictionary for binding. On the other hand a generic list works fine.
private void PopulateListBox2()
{
List<string> subjectList = new List<string>();
subjectList.Add("Maths");
subjectList.Add("Science");
ListBox1.DataSource = subjectList;
ListBox1.DataBind();
}
Even it will work fine, if the values are unique. But in my scenario, the values are same; only key varies. The following works
private void PopulateListBox5()
{
Dictionary<string, string> resultDictionary = new Dictionary<string, string>();
resultDictionary.Add("Maths", "Lijo1");
resultDictionary.Add("Science", "Lijo2");
ListBox1.DataValueField = "Value";
ListBox1.DataTextField = "Key";
ListBox1.DataSource = resultDictionary;
ListBox1.DataBind();
}
The following code has the problem......................
I'm creating input radio dynamicly on a ASP.NET page using PlacHolders. While reader.Read
Dim ltr As New Literal()
Dim ltr1 As New Literal()
Dim ltr2 As New Literal()
Dim ltr3 As New Literal()
Dim ltr4 As New Literal()
ltr.Text = reader.GetString(2) & "<br />"
PlaceHolder2.Controls.Add(ltr)
ltr1.Text = "<form> <input type = radio name=groupe" & i & " value=1>" & reader.GetString(3) & "<br />"
PlaceHolder2.Controls.Add(ltr1)
ltr2.Text = "<input type = radio name=groupe" & i & " value=1>" & reader.GetString(4) & "<br />"
PlaceHolder2.Controls.Add(ltr2)
ltr3.Text = "<input type = radio name=groupe" & i & " value=1>" & reader.GetString(5) & "<br />"
PlaceHolder2.Controls.Add(ltr3)
ltr4.Text = "<input type = radio name=groupe" & i & " value=1>" & reader.GetString(6) & "</form><br /><br />"
PlaceHolder2.Controls.Add(ltr4)
i = i + 1
End While
My problem is : how can I get all the items selected on those input radio.
i am using the 2 checkboxlist controls namely chklstearnings,chklstdeductions in my .aspx page and am binding the data tothe checkbox list using ds and now when i try to get the selected items am unable to do it so
here goes my code for data binding
page_load
{
MySqlConnection con= new MySqlConnection(System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings.Get("connectionString"));
MySqlCommand com=con.CreateCommand();
[Code]....
now my prob is i am getting the name of the item in ded and ear but the property selected is all ways showing false irrespect of selection
I have a checkboxlist that gets data from my database and displays a list of items.
Item 1
Item 2
Item 3
I know how to get the chosen items, but i'm not sure how to get them in the order that they were chosen. This is my code to get the selected items.
[Code]....
So if I choose Item 3, Item 2, and then Item 1, when I display them on a label, the order is always Item 1, Items 2, Item 3. How can i preserve the order of the chosen items?
I have a list with multiple selection enable, wen i do a loop in back end to see which items are selected it always just shows me the first one as selected only and everything else false.
View 2 Repliesmy vb.net will not use listbox1.selecteditems it always comes up with a blue line underneath even though when i search online everyone is using this. my goal is to get the selected items and list them in a textbox
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim li As ListItem
For Each li In ListBox1.Items
If li.Selected Then
TextBox1.Text &= li.Text & vbCrLf
End If
UpdatePanel2.Update()
Next
End Sub
End Class
I have a listbox control data bound to a data source and I want to be able to get the value of each selected item so that I can use that information to form an insert query for another table. In other words be able to select a few items out of the returned list and get the selected value of each. I tried using a for each statement but came up with some strange numbers.
View 2 RepliesI am getting this error: "Cannot have multiple Items Selected in Dropdown", when I Edit the data.
I have few gridviews with a checkbox. I want the selected items in the gridview to be populated in a seperate list.
Example as below :
[URL]
I am persisting the search selection criteria of a listbox onto another page which is called AreasLb. Multiple areas can be selected, I simply want to set the listbox items that the user selected as .Selected = true
I think the below code should work, but it doesn't, with no items in the Listbox being selected.
if (s == "Areas")
{
string[] area = nv[s].Substring(0, (nv[s].Length - 1)).Split(';');
int i = 0;
foreach (ListItem item in AreasLb.Items)
{
foreach (var s1 in area)
{
if (s1 == item.Value)
{
AreasLb.Items[i].Selected = true;
}
continue;
}
i = i + 1;
}
continue;
}
I need to know how to loop through all the selected items of a listbox.
