C# - Display Only Two Rows In The Repeater?
Oct 6, 2010i have a asp.net repeater control .I have to display only two rows in the repeater .but my dataset has 10 rows ..is there a way to restrict the number of rows of a repater ?

The itemtemplate of repeater control is having a table row

And I am binding these repeater control with some datasource.
My requirement is to have focus on first item row and i should be able to use tab ket to navigate between various rows of the repeater control(which is ultimately a table)
There is no anchor(<a>) control inside the table.
I am using onclick event on table row which does something in my application.
I want my user to use TAB key to navigate between rows.

Oct 8, 2010I'm creating an ASP.NET/C# page where a user enters an ID at the top of the page, and when they press Submit, the page posts back and displays the data. Right now, the data fields are displayed at all times - even when the page loads and no search has taken place. This is not ideal as when they navigate a Menu with a MultiView I have made, some errors will come up. Plus it's obviously not good practise.
Is there a way I can hide all these elements (they are DetailsViews and GridViews, plus the MultiView and Menu) if the SQLDataSource is blank? So if the search returned nor esults, or no query has been executed yet.

i guess when i search from the table where the item is car, then it will search row by rows, then as the number of rows become huge, it will be so late to find the result.

Feb 16, 2010I need to expose a Web service which will provide an array/DataTable of 20 rows (average) of data - certainly no more than 100 rows would ever be needed. The largest item in these rows would be a date.The Web service would be called by a separate Web site in order to display these 20 (approx.) rows in a GridView/DataView. I would have to be able to dynamically choose which domain to go to and find the Web service.I would possibly have to secure the Web service with a password but this is not vital (possibly with soap headers over https).
My question is what technologies should I use to create this Web service? I know enough about .asmx Web services to struggle through and get this working, but should I get a book on WCF and learn that instead?I use AJAX and jQuery so am also wondering if I should be using one of those client side, to call the Web service and populate the grid?
