I have a TextBox(enabled with PostBack). I need to store the value of it before it's postback. Is it possible? If so, Eg : I enter "10" in my TextBox. Then, in it's PostBack, a message box appears, telling "You have entered Ten!". Next, I enter "100" in my TextBox, this time, a message box appears and tells, "You have not entered the correct number!". Upto this point, it's Okay. But now what I need is, when I press the Okay button in the second mentioned message box, the number "10" should be displayed in the TextBox.
I have 2 textboxes and a submit button inside a .net composite server control. I tried to only postback when submit button is clicked. I set autopostback = false for both textboxes. But either one still trigger submit button's onclick event by hitting "Enter" inside textbox. How can I stop postback by enter key?
I have a search page with 3 TextBoxes that users can filter a search with.
I have put the focus on the TextBox that contains text. If more than one contains text just focus on last TextBox.
[code]...
After the code runs and a user searches, the focus comes to the beginning of the TextBox, not the end where it would be presumed. How to put insert marked at the end of that TextBox?
On a page, I have a couple of textboxes. I use JQuery to convert the text into currency format and tinally total these values and submit the form after changing. But I notice that the new total value is not what gets saved when I click Submit. The total textbox' s data changes on postback, but this doesnot happen with the other textboxes. Why would this happen? These textboxes are not in any update panel nor is the Submit Button.
I have a simple page where I want to filter a ListBox based upon a value(s) in a textbox - both are in an UpdatePanel. This works correctly, however, after the postback the textbox had lost focus...so I set focus back in the page_load.Then I noticed that the cursor was now at the beginning of the text when I want it at the end so the user can carry on typing, so I added an onfocus(...) attribute to the textbox to set the value back to itself (see code below). This works the first two times, but then it stops setting focus to the textbox?

In my page I have a read-only TextBox that contains a rather large amount of text. I noticed that on postback this text is sent back to the server and validated, even though the client can never modify it. This seems silly; is there a way to disable this behavior?
It is, as you might have guessed, the text box from an on screen PIN pad. Javascript fills in the values. The page is posted back every five seconds (using an update panel if that matters) to update various other unrelated items on the screen. This works just fine. However, when I convert it to a password text box, like this:
Then whenever the page posts back, the text box is cleared out on the screen and the textbox is empty (though during the timer event, the value does make it back to the server.)
I use AjaxControlToolkit 30930. I use modalpopupextender with textbox control and I found that there is a comma append textbox value every postback. Are ther any solution for me. I don't want to use previous version because I need AsyncFileupload.
Basically what I would like to be able to click in a textbox and it cause a postback. Not TextChanged, but when the TextBox gains focus. Any way to do this?
I'm having a little problem with textboxes automatically resizing after postback.
I have a textbox on set with a width of 90%.
Now the text box works fine but if I have something in the textbox that is longer than what it can display, when I save and the page reloads with the string in there the textbox automatically makes itself larger and becomes bigger than the 90% that I set and goes off the page, a scroll bar appears.
Is there a way to turn this off? I have been searching and can't seem to find anything..
I realize that if I set it to a fixed with this problem goes away if I set a fixed width but I need it at 90%.
Also, I have some multi-line textboxes and they have the same issue, even though it's multi-line, it still becomes a little bigger wrap less times than it can.
Is there any way can let me set a textbox's value before the asynchronous postback. but I don't want to add a handler for a control which caused that asynchronous postback, because there are too much control can cause that. I want to know if there is a client event would be caused before the postback.
I tried the event initializeRequest of PageRequestManager to do this, but it did not work, it seems like the request has been generated when this event was executed, the value i set in this event for textbox did not be sent to server.
here is a page I used to test
<%@ Page Language="C#" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> runat="server"> <script

I've got a simple ASP.Net form with txtBox and btn.
User click btn, which adds text to an ASP:TextBox in a postback (its adding a known "starter text".
After the postback I'd like the focus to be set to the end of the text in the textbox.
If I call Page.SetFocus(...) or txtBox.Focus() then the txtBox gets focus, but at the beginning of the text - which means if the user starts typing, they'll be in the wrong place.
e.g.
cursor100-01
would like it to be
100-01cursor
I've tried the following in the textbox:
onfocus="alert('focus');this.value = this.value;"
but the "alert" only appears the first two times? Then nothing?

I've got an application that uses jquery ui datepicker on an asp.net textbox control. The control is working as intended, but I've noticed that when you postback from a server call (via submit button), the entered value gets lost in the application. Was wondering if you all have experienced this? And what measures that you have to do to prevent this? Here is my code:HTML:
There is button(btnOpen) and a textbox (txtResult) in the page.
Once I clicked on btnOpen, a modal dialog will appear, displaying TextBox1 and Button1.
The user is required to type something in TextBox1 and I want to pass the TextBox1.Text into my database but when I try to do that, the value actually = "", which is gone.
So I created this test program to illustrate by passing the value into a txtResult.
Can anyone guide me on getting the TextBox1.Text value?
Besides that, is there anyone to tell more about what does this lines of code do?
