I would like to change the listview template on a button click event. for example if your in edittemplate i would like to switch to ItemTemplate.i am trying to do this because im writing my own custom update function for the list view. so after i successfully update the row, it doesn't switch back to the default view.

View 1 RepliesI have a textbox with autopostback=true and a button to save the data in the form. Functionality works fine when entering a value in the textbox, tabbing out of the textbox and clicking on the save button. But issue comes up when entering a value in the textbox and directly clicking on the save button without tabbing out of the text box. In the second scenario, only textchanged event fires and save click event dosen't fire. What I was expecting was after exection of textchanged event, save click event should also fire. But this is not happening.

One of my webpages has an asp.net ListView control, with an insertitem template defined. I would like to allow the users of the page to enter data in a text field in the insertitem template, press the enter key, and trigger the insert event (which normally happens when you click the 'insert' button). I've tried simulating the button click event in javascript, but that doesn't seem to be working.

I have a ListView Which displays Customer, product, price, Quantity and comments from database.The User can either edit it or Insert new items. In Edit Item template and Insert item template, i need to add a image button next to the textbox, which when clicked, will display a pop up window with list of customers or products.I have been doing it with the normal aspx page with textboxes. I use click handler to pop up the windows.i'm not able to do with listview Please help to give a solution to it.How else can i add an image icon and click it and get the values back to the textboxes?i will post what i'm doing without listview first and then the part of the relavant code of Listview.

View 1 RepliesI created a gridview and bound it to a datasource, I had some problems that do not relate to this post.
then I created another datasource programmatically and deleted the old one,
and I bound it using gridview.DataSource = source.
now when I click the edit button the first time nothing happens, when I click edit on another row, the previous row I clicked on changes to editing mode and shows update cancel links, then when I click a 3rd one, the 2nd one changes to editing mode etc...
I have to click twice on button control to fire an event.

It has it's own little "framework" and conventions for developers to follow when extending/customizing its functionality. I am currently extending some of it's administrative functionality, to which the framework provides a contract to enforce implementation of the GetAdministrationInterface() method, which returns System.Web.UI.Control. This method is called during the Page_Load() method of the page hosting the GUI interface.
Problem: I have three buttons in my GUI, each of which have been assigned an Event Handler. My administration GUI loads up perfectly fine, but clicking any of the buttons doesn't do what I expect them to do. However, when I click them a second time, the buttons work.
I placed breakpoints at the beginning of each event handler method and stepped through my code. On the first click, none of the event handlers were triggered. On the second click, they fired.

i am currently developing an asp.net project. there is a previous, next, and cancel button that the user can utilize, but the problem is that everything is broken into controls so that if they hit the browser's back button it will reset everything and take them to the very beginning. i would like to capture the onbeforeunload event and trigger the previous button click event (i.e. treating navigation like clicking the previous button).

View 2 RepliesI have one Button (Refresh Button), One ComboBox (containing DEV and UAT as its items) and a GridView on my asp page.
I am filling up my Grid with values from database on the ComboBox's 'TextChanged' event and Buttons's 'Click' event.
First time when page is loaded, there is no information in the grid, but when i choose DEV/UAT from the ComboBox 'TextChanged' event is fired, the grid is filled with the relevant data. That is what i want.
When i click the Refresh Button to refresh the data again, first comboBox's 'TextChanged' event and then 'btn_Click' event is fired.
I want then when a button id pressed only 'Click' event to be fired and not the ComboBox's 'TextChanged' event.
i have written an button click event in js file but the event wasnt fired the code seems below
