strjscript += "window.opener." + HttpContext.Current.Request.QueryString["formname"];
strjscript += ".value = '" + Calender1.SelectedDate.ToString("yyyy-MM-dd") + "'; window.close();";
strjscript += "</script" + ">";
Literal1.Text = strjscript;
}

e.Cell.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.LightGray;
}

I decided to use the CalendarExtender on a project and I converted it from VS 2005 to Web Developer 2010 Express. I initially added the AJAX toolkit for ASP.NET 4.0 and the calendar extender worked fine. However, I realised that the server didn't have ASP.NET 4.0 installed and I thought it would be simpler to add the toolkit for 3.5 instead and change the target framework to 3.5. I tried and then the CalendarExtender did't work at all. When you click the textbox nothing happens. There is the error on page - 'sys.extended.ui.textboxwrapper is null or not an object'
I tried switching the project back to 4.0 and using the other one and that no longer works for some reason. The same in 2008 Web Developer Express. I've clearly done something wrong along the way, but I can't work out what it is.
Here's the source for a page on a test Web Developer 2008 Express project.

I've got a detailsview control on a page. The table that it interacts with has a DateTime column in it. This column is nullable, and a lot of the records have null for that value. In the EditItemTemplate I've got a calendar control. When I try to put the DetailsView into edit mode, I get the following error message:
System.InvalidCastException was unhandled by user code
Message=Specified cast is not valid.

at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBind(Boolean raiseOnDataBinding)
at System.Web.UI.Control.DataBindChildren()
I am convinced that the problem is the null values in the DateTime column of the table. I've done some web searches on this, and some have suggested placing some dummy values into that column, but that seems more like a kludge, rather than a solution. How do I keep nulls in the table, and yet not have that preceeding error come up when a user tries to edit the selected record?

let me see if I can explain this clearly. I have a gridview control
and I am trying to use the Edit function. In my gridview, there are numerous rows. I pick one to change and click Edit. I then see the boss name in my gridview and click "Change". When I click Change, I'm expecting two fields to appear, one is a label, the other is a DropDownList. I get this error when I click:
System.NullReferenceException was unhandled by user code
Message=Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

i have an application wherein i have incorporate a "Remember Me" feature for the login screen. I do this by creating a cookie when the user logs in for the first time, so next time when the user visits the site i get the cookie and load the user information.
i have written the code for loading user information in a common class in the App_Code folder...and all my pages inherit from this class.
code for loading the user info is as follows:
public static void LoadUserDetails(string emailId)
{
UsersEnt currentUser = UsersBL.LoadUserInfo(emailId);
if (currentUser != null)
HttpContext.Current.Session["CurrentUser"] = currentUser;
}
Now the problem is i get an "Object reference" error when i try to store the currentUser object in the session variable (even though the currentUser object is not null). However the password property in the currentUser object is null.

I have an AJAX Calendar Extender inside an ASP.NET Repeater, which binds date data from a table and allows users to change this. I have an issue however - if the date is null, it returns an error as it cannot bind null as a selected date. Are there any ways around this?

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to open a Calendar once the user selects a text box? I tried using the Ajax toolkit, but had no luck getting that to run. I could always do the icon for the Calendar if that is easier, but i'd prefer for the Calendar object to open each time the user selects one of the Date Text Boxes.

Is there a way to put a button on a specific date in a calendar object? Specific dates in my website might have a lot of data that needs to be shown and I want to place a button on that date to open up a new webpage or make a panel visible with the information. Below is the calendar object and the dayrendering routine to place the current information in the calendar object.
[Code]....
Dim linkStr As String
e.Cell.BackColor = Drawing.Color.Red
linkStr = "<span style=""font-size:11pt; font-Weight:bold; color:white""><br />Error Loading Date: " & e.Day.Date & _
"<br /><br />Check Date and Re-Submit!"
e.Cell.Controls.Add(New LiteralControl(linkStr))
end sub

I have a <script> that contains this line: var tbl = document.getElementById("<%= this.tblSelection.ClientID %>"); but tbl always ends up being set to null. The table is declared like this:
<asp:Table ID="tblSelection" runat="server" CellPadding="2" CellSpacing="0"
cols="1" style="position: absolute; top: 0%; right: 0%">
Both the script and the table are in the same master page file. What could be causing this? I should mention that this script is executed on onload

I think thaAjaxControlToolkitTextBoxWrapperThis use to work, but I think that upgrading to te latest version of teh Toolkit (4 something) broke it:
var txtExpireYear = document.getElementById("ctl00_phPageContent_dtmPassportExpirationDate_txtYear");
txtExpireYear.AjaxControlToolkitTextBoxWrapper.set_Value(dtmDateOfExpire.getFullYear());
I now get the error:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'AjaxControlToolkitTextBoxWrapper' is null or not an object
Executing this:
txtExpireYear.innerText="value1"
txtExpireYear.value="value2"
results in the watermark text being changed, not the textbox's text.
