i want to know how to connect asp.net with access 2007. i need to add, update and delete data in a data grid. can you please help me out? im new and i need full instructions to do it. its really urgent
Is there any way i connnect a Access 2007 database from SQL Server stored procedure using oledb connection so that i can copy some records from that database?I am asked to achieve this through stored procedure only without using DTS or SSIS.
I have a web page with links to various files including an Access 2003 .mdb and an Access 2007 .accdb. Both are about 1 mb in size. Both are in the same directory. The hyperlink for both is coded the same except for the database name. Users are instructed to right click on the links and choose "Save Target As..." to download the application to their computer. Currently, users and myself can download the .mdb trouble free. The .accdb will not. The error message states that the site cannot be found or is unavailable. This happens with any .accdb I put in the directory.
I am using the below code to Export DataTable to Word,Excel,CSV format & it's working fine. But problem is that this code export to MS Word 2003,Excel 2003 & CSV version. I need to Export my DataTable to MS Word 2007,Excel 2007 & CSV because I am supposed to handle more than 100,000 records at a time and as we know Excel 2003 supports for only 65,000 records.
how to export DataTable or DataSet to MS Word 2007,Excel 2007 & CSV.
I'm working on a web app and need to stream various files. I can do pdfs, images, and older Office documents. However, when I try to do with 2007 documents, it breaks. Here is my code:
Response.Buffer = true; Response.Clear(); Response.ClearContent(); Response.ClearHeaders(); switch (FileExtension.ToLower()) { case "pdf": Response.ContentType = "application/pdf"; break; case "doc": Response.ContentType = "application/msword"; break; case "docx": Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-word.document.12"; break; case "xls": Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel"; break; case "xlsx": Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel.12"; break; default: Response.ContentType = "image/jpeg"; break; } Response.BinaryWrite(buffer);
The error that I get is:
An invalid character was found in text content. Error processing resource 'http://DomainName/GetFile.aspx.

I have a issue where I am trying to pull some records from an Access 2007 DB that has linked tables from a SQL 2005 Server. When I go to do this the browser IE8 just sits there and does nothing. THe little progress bar at the bottom moves about half way then that is it. It will sit there and show no errors or do anything. I have experience with connecting and manipulating Access and SQL server DB's but not through Access with linked tables from SQL Server. Here is test code below:
[Code]....
This does not produce an error or anything. The browser just sits there and sits there. Is there something I am missing?
I can't seem to add an Access DB to my ASP.Net project. I can see the DB in the Database Explorer Window, but I can't see any of the Tables or Views; nothing at all. I click Test Connection, and I get a message that 'Test Connection Succeeded', but I can't see anything and I don't seem to have any kind of control whatsoever. If I click on the Tables folder, I get this message: 'Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt'. When I double-click directly on the DB, it opens and runs just fine.
The Access DB is on my desktop. Originally developed in Access 2000; using 2007 now. Also, this is VWD and ASP.Net 3.5. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? It seems like a pretty easy thing, but it's turning out to be not quite as easy as I thought.
trying to connect an access db (.mdb) to a gridview control. the db is in a folder under my iis wwwroot folder. when setting it up i can test the connection ok, but when i go to save it, it comes back with 'the system cannot find the file specified'?
if it can test the connection ok how come it can't find the file? for the connection to test ok obviously the path must be right is there some restriction that the db has to be in the app_data folder? i notice when creating the data source and selecting browse, the only folder it displays and allows you to choose from is app_data. thats pretty restrictive and then makes it more difficult if that has to change when moving from development to production. is there some way to connect to a db outside of the project?
I having worked with asp.net in while.Working in VS 2008 it seems it embeds the database in the solution.I have a external database, that is used by other applications. How do I connect into that?
Public Function HelloWorld() As String Dim orgcon As New OLEDBConnection("Provider=Microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0;data source=c:dataDB.MDB") Dim OrgDA As New OleDbDataAdapter("select * from organization order by orgname", orgcon) Dim Orgds As New System.Data.DataSet OrgDA.Fill(Orgds, "Organization") Dim hwstring As String hwstring = orgds.tables(0).rows(0).item(3).tostring Return hwstring End Function
The flash just gives me an error that there was an error opening the web service. For some reason I canīt debug it in vwd.
I have a task in which i have to compare 2 access databases
and in these 2 databases, there is a field "Customer_Name" Let's name both databases as DatabaseA and DatabaseB
In DatabaseA there is a list of Customer_Name that includes all the customers
Now I have to match this CustomerList with "Customer_Name" field present in DatabaseB
If Customer Name of DatabaseA is present in Customer Name of DatabaseB then leave it as it is
If Customer Name of DatabaseA is not present in Customer Neme of DatabaseB then rename the name of that customer as "NA" in DatabaseA'S Customer Name field
So i have to perform these 2 above mentioned things, is it possible to do it in asp.net coding ? just with a press of button (in button click even) to save time as the list of customers includes 3000 customers approx
I have a problem regarding database. I write to the database fine with this code:
[Code]....
When I close the application and view the Database with access.. the records are added ok, but when I start the application the records are deleted. This is what I have in the Form_Load:
I am seriously at a loss here. The three things that will not change in this project are the fact that we are using the Entity Framework to do our data access, the fact that we want thorough unit testing and that our UI is asp.net. My question is how the hell do you make this work in Asp.net? E.g. You can use an ObjectDataSource to connect a method to a control, but if this control is a FormView you have all these problems [URL] to deal with and it simply doesn't work.
Furthermore, with grids, you don't get paging or sorting out of the box unless you use an EntityDataSource which basically circumvents your entire application. I can't be the only person who cries at this. What do you do?
in my ASP.NET applicaton I have ftpdata folder, where is MS Access 2010 somename.accdb file. On my local computer (Win XP), there is no problem to connect with OleDb to this file and read write datas into and from tables. But on server (Windows Server 2008), I cannot connect to the same file like on localhost.
I would like to connect to a password protected shared location that has an access database using an ASP page. I have the user name and password needed to connect to the shared location but I am not sure how to set up the connection string in order to get this done. The access database I would like to connect to does not need a username or password, only the shared location does.
