Can Assign Date Inside Textbox Using MaskedEditExtender
Jun 28, 2010
I am using MaskedEditExtender so that user can enter date inside textbox with specified mask like "DD/MM/YYYY".
i am facing problem when i am trying to assign value within text box from some string variable while when i am directly typing value within text box it's successfully enter like "28/06/2010"
How can i assign value within masked text box from variable. For mask text box i am using MaskedEditExtender of AJAX.

In my gridview, I have 6 columns. The first 5 columns are filled with data retrieved from database.In the 6th column I want to display a value from textbox from same form. The value should be displayed on the row next to last row of rest of the columns. So my last column (i.e.) 6th column will just have all the rows filled with the same value of the text box.
First 5 columns of grid will be filled by selecting the college name from dropdown.The last colum (Date) must be filled with the date that is given in the textbox.It can be even after button click event(date of attendence).
It can be done after button click event also..

I have a textbox for date input and I used a MaskedEditExtender to set the Mask="99/99/9999": here is the code:
<asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="tbDate" Width="80px" />
<ajax:MaskedEditExtender ID="MaskedEditExtender1" runat="server" TargetControlID="tbDate" Mask="99/99/9999" MaskType="Date" />
In my code when the page loads I need to set the tbDate to readonly, then when the user enters some other info on the page I will make tbDate editable (not readonly), I did all these using javascript by setting tbDate.readOnly = true/false. However, when
going from readonly to editable, when the tbDate field receives the focus, the mask __/__/____ appears, but when the user starts typing the first digit, it pushes the mask as if the mask was part of the value, so it becomes something like 12__/__/____ instead
of 12/__/____. If I commented out the code that makes the tbDate field readonly, then the mask works as expected.

I'm registering a javascript in aspx.net
Dim script = "<script language = javascript>" & _
"window.setTimeout('ShowTime(true, [?????])', 1000);</script>"
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType, "iniciar", script)
I must write a dateTime parameter in string format, but I'm not achieving the goal. I've tryed various time formats (Eg. 2011/02/10 17:05:00), without success. Ps: I know... when I try with only the date, its ok. But I need the time too.

I am using a MaskedEditExtender on a textbox to verify a date. MaskType="Date" Mask="99/99/9999". Users of the system are used to typing just the last two digits of the year (i.e. 22/06/10) so I am trying to make this possible.
I have tried using Century="2000" but this option does not seem to function at all (still results in 22/06/0010).
A response in another forum suggests modifying the MaskedEditBehavior.js file to fix this behaviour - see here.
My question is, how should I go about modifying the MaskedEditBehavior.js file (as suggested in the link above), and how do I ensure that this modification is distributed with my application? I cannot even find this file to modify.

I have a webform with two textboxes both with maskededitextender with date type, and a button.
When I press the button and the postback occurs the first textbox looses the value and shows the date mask.
What to do so this doesn't happen and the textbox doesn't loose the value.

I have a master/detail scheme for editing an asp:GridView using an asp:DetailsView. One of my fields is for a phone number of type int64 (always 10 digits). I would like this field to always be displayed as (###)###-####. My issue is the first digit in the phone number is always truncated for my edit item field which I used a MaskedEditExtender to achieve the formatting.
Here is my EditItemTemplate for the details view:
<cc1:MaskedEditExtender TargetControlID="edtPROJ_Leader_Phone" Mask="(999)999-9999" runat="server" ClearMaskOnLostFocus="false" ClipboardEnabled="true" MaskType="Number" />
<asp:TextBox ID="edtPROJ_Leader_Phone" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("PROJ_Leader_Phone") %>' ></asp:TextBox>
When my details view is displayed for editing, the text box displays(_23)456-7890 for the integer 1234567890. Also worth noting that if the property MaskType="Number" is removed, the textbox shows:
(234)567-890_. I would of course have the textbox show (123)-546-67890 after binding.

Below is my code:
<asp:TextBox
ID="FromDateTextBox"
runat="server" />
<asp:ImageButton
ID="FromDateImageButton"
runat="server"
ImageUrl="~/images/calander.png" />
<ajaxkit:CalendarExtender
ID="FromDate"
runat="server"
TargetControlID="FromDateTextBox"
CssClass="CalanderControl"
PopupButtonID="FromDateImageButton"
Enabled="True" />
<ajaxkit:MaskedEditExtender
id="FromDateMaskedEditExtender"
runat="server"
targetcontrolid="FromDateTextBox"
Mask="99/99/9999"
messagevalidatortip="true"
onfocuscssclass="MaskedEditFocus"
oninvalidcssclass="MaskedEditError"
masktype="Date"
displaymoney="Left"
acceptnegative="Left"..........
I've set Culture="auto" UICulture="auto" in @Page directive and EnableScriptGlobalization="true" EnableScriptLocalization="true" in script manager to have client culture specific date format in my textbox.
I also have a Go button on my page on which I will do a partial post back. So, I want to validate the FromDateTextBox in javascript when the Go button is clicked.
UPDATE
I know how to create a javascript click handler. But because masked editor is already validating the date on focus shift, I'm thinking there should be some boolean property (like IsValid) exposed by it which will allow me to see if the text box contains valid date.
FURTHER TRIALS
I also tried below code and Page_Validators[f].isvalid always returns true even when the date is invalid and MaskEditValidator shows me a red star near the Text box.
function isDateValid() {
var b = true;
for (var f = 0; f < Page_Validators.length; f++) {
if (!Page_Validators[f].isvalid)
b = false;
}
return b;
}
$('#GoButton').click(function() {
if (!isDateValid()) {
return false;
}
loadProducts();
});

I have a TextBox using the AjaxControlToolkit's MaskedEditExtender, the extender is using the Date mask (99/99/9999). We had modified the toolkit code to support 2-digit year (as seen in this post) which works just fine when the date TextBox initially has no value. But when the date TextBox has an existing date such as 10/04/2010, if I type in say 100409, it becomes 10/04/0910, in other words it doesn't replace the existing year but simply replace the first 2 digits of the year. If I first hightlight the entire field then type then it works. My question is is there a way to hightlight the entire date value of the TextBox upon entering the field?
I tried using javascript code textbox.focus() and .selet() but it doesn't highlight anything, it just places the cursor at the beginning of the textbox.

Let me first start by saying I'm NEW to ASP.net!
I have a DIV inside a Content Place Holder because I want to assign a different Color and Width from the Master Page.
Looks like this:
<
asp:Content
ID="Content1"
ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder"
Runat="Server">
<div
style="width: 1000px; background-color:White">
I would like to assign a CSS to the DIV instead of setting the Width and Background-Color in the form. How can I move these settings for Width and Background-Color to a CSS file, and then assign the CSS file to the DIV?

in my asp.net_vb code web. there are 9 textboxes whcih is used for entering numerical/dates
first is lve.text in whicj numder is entered
second one is lvefrom.text
thirdone is lveto.text
when user fills (lve.text) 5 and enter 15 Jan 2013 in lvefrom.text then lveto.text should show 19 Jan 2013. i had posted this earlier and got reply which is mentioned below. this code below gives me 20 Jan 2013 instead of 19 Jan 2013.
tw text boxes lve.text (number filled) and lve from.text (date filled). when user enter a numder in lve.text and select a date fro date picker in lvefrom.text then lveto.text should show date selected in lvefrom.text + number of days in lveto.text (eg if number of days is 5 and date selected in lvefrom.text is 15 Jan 2013 then lveto.text should display 19 jan 2013. because the starting day is also counted in my case.
Protected Sub lvefrom_TextChanged1(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles lvefrom.TextChanged
Dim ObjLocDate As New Date
Dim IntLocDays As Integer
IntLocDays = Convert.ToInt32(lve.Text)
ObjLocDate = lvefrom.Text
ObjLocDate = ObjLocDate.AddDays(IntLocDays)
lveto.Text = ObjLocDate.Date.ToString("dd-MMM-yyyy")
End Sub
fourt tex box is pfx.text, fifth is pfx1.text, sixth is pfx2.text
when use filles pfx.text 3 then pfx1.text should display 12 Jan 2013 and pfx2.text should display 14 Jan 2013. these are the prefix for leave( as 12 to 14 Jan 2013 is prefix.seveth is sfx.text, eighth is sfx1.text and nineth is sfx2.text
when user fills sfx.text 3 then sfx1.text should display 20 Jan 2013 and sfx2.text should display.

Using MySQL 5.
In my SAP.NEt project, defined a constant:
public static DateTime NullDateTime = DateTime.MinValue;
I have a function:
protected static DateTime GetDateTime(DataRow row, string columnName)
{
return (row[columnName] != DBNull.Value) ?
Convert.ToDateTime(row[columnName]) :
Globals.NullDateTime;
}
In the source code:
public DateTime StationFeedTime{ get; set; }
StationFeedTime = GetDateTime(row, "StationFeedTime");
I ran a SQL to fetch records from MySQL, this field is Time field in MySQL.
Got an exception inside the function:
Unable to cast object of type 'System.TimeSpan' to type 'System.IConvertible'.
