I have a listview which I would like to fill with self created user controls.But the problem is that the properties in the user control is not set. The usercontrols are displayed but the property values I enter is not set. Why is that?

While running ItemDetabound upon load of a listivew, I am trying to access the text in a label of the LayoutTemplate of a different Listview. It works fine if I try access the same labels under the same names if they are in the same listview, but not if they are in a different one. It was working for a while, can't figure out what I changed, but now says that object doesn't exist.

I have a listview that displays a list of textboxes that get created on a button click. I would also like a label to be created next to each txtbox that would increment what is says from step x: to step x+1:
Do I need to create another listview control for this, or is there a much easier way (which I hope)?

When you click a button, it generates another text box, so clicking it twice results in this:

These textboxes are to create steps in a process, so all I would like to do is add a generated label next to each generated textbox to say which step it is. So I want it to look like this:

I have a listview control which is created dynamically, it is nested inside a repeater's itemtemplate. I'm trying to attach a datapager to it, which is also created dynamically but the datapager will not display and the listview will just display all its records in its entirety.

I have a ListView in which I have to hide certain LayoutTemplate elements when an Edit button is clicked. Naturally, the display goes from the ItemTemplate into the EdititemTemplate, which is accomplished in the following code. However, a problem arises when the EditItemTemplate is updated then displays the ItemTemplate: the elements from the LayoutTemplate which are initially hidden fail to re-display when the ItemTemplate is activated again.

To me this should be much easier, but I can't seem to retain the values that are put in the Insert template upon a validation failure or when the sql fails. This will prevent the user from having to retype everything agin in the event of a failure.
As you can see I am using the Sub Insert_Click and not using an insert through the wizard. so the fields are unbound textboxes on the form. There are 2 dropdowns that provide choices for the other fields.
I pasted in the code using the text only option becuase the format was getting messed up. I probably need more background on why the fields are blanking out.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to create a table with Listview and one of the fields I'm using is supposed to show a hyperlink to a more detailed view of the data shown, how I want to do that is by using FindControl on the ID of that item and then changing the value into a hyperlink of the detailed view page with a querystring attached, the problem is that I have no idea how to re-insert that data back into the listview field, which looks something like this:

I have a database with some data in. Now I'm trying to show that data on my page whit a ListView.
For each object from the database a ListView will generate a dropdownlist.
I also have a DataPager on my page and this is where the problem occurs.
Each object generated from the database has a field that may look like this example.: 1,2,3.
In my code now I´m trying to split this string of comma character and add new items to my dropdownlist.
This works as long as I do not have DataPager on. But if I choose to view an x number of pages at the time when the page loads, I have value in the dropdownlists, only on my first page.

All I am doing in my button code is within the onclick event setting a string value and calling a method by passing it that string value.

I have a ListView that contains a lot of editable items. Every item has some values, like; item name, item price, item size and so forth. I would like to add another editable column which should be a drop down list. This should list which sizes the item is available at, like S, M, L, XL. Some item are only available in S and M, while other items may just have a standard size (meaning none of the above sizes). So for example if you are to add an item called polo shirt and its only available in sizes L and XL then you should be able to do that. And then at the front-end where the users surf the items it should be like that when a users sees this Polo shirt he should be presented with a drop down list where he is only able to select L and XL
I can't figure out how to implement this in the Listview and the database. I have mentioned that I want a drop down list to appear in the back-end, this is not a necessity, anything will do as long as the front-end is showing a drop down list with the choosen sizes.
I have two listviews. The inner listview (InnerListView1) is in the SelecttItemTemplate of the outer listview (OuterListView1). Both listviews are bind in the code behind. The outer listview displays correctly in the ItemTemplate. Neither Listview Listview displays in the SelectItemTemplate. Both should display when I click the Select button. I just get a postback (flicker). The display should include the selected record of the outer listview and the inner listview.

I have a set of dinamically created User Controls on the page. They are pretty small 170X120 px in size, but when the page is displayed, they are all one under the other. All styling is default, which means they should be positioned in normal flow. Is there any way to place them next to each other. This is not a problem when I dinamically create for standard controls, like a button or an image. Why the user control is different. This is the markup behind the control:

i'm having a gridview with textboxes and i'm allowing user to enter all the textboxes and when submit button is clicked, I'm constructing the Object and adding all the rows to LIST class.,After that i'm putting that LIST elements in a session. Everything is fine, But when i try to cast the session object to LIST type and pass it to XML serialization, I cannot see the elements in the list and it is showing LIST as NULL. I can see the generated XML string with ROOT and my classname as attributes without no data.
