I'm trying to disable a checkbox depending on whether an xml value contains the word disabled but I'm getting an error as follow. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this or see something wrong with how I'm doing it? The XML value is either blank or contains the word "DISABLED"
error:
System.InvalidCastException was unhandled by user code
Message=Conversion from string "" to type 'Boolean' is not valid.

how to disabled and uncheck the checkbox values from database fields..if i have entry in my database records as :Name Seats DateSumit 1,3 11-Dec-2010Sanjeev 2,4 12-Dec-2010Manish 1,3,4 11-Dec-2010I want on page load event the default date for todays is 11-Dec-2010 then checkbox1, checkbox2, checkbox3, checkbox4 will be disabled and unchecked state for 11-Dec-2010as you see on the above database structure the seats for 11-Dec-2010 is 1,2,3,4 so the chekbox1, checkbox2, checkbox3, checkbox4 will be disabled..
My page was created with a multiview which has 3 views.
Now on one of the view I have a checkbox called chkpeer. So, when this checkbox is checked it triggers a submit button to be set to visible and active with the code below;
Code: Protected Sub chkpeer_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles chkpeer.CheckedChanged If chkpeer.Checked = True Then chkpeer.Enabled = True btnSub.Visible = True Else btnSub.Visible = False End If End Sub
Now the problem is, when I check chkpeer - btnsub becomes visible set to TRUE. Then when I move to the next View without clicking the submit button then return to the view with chkpeer,
1) chkpeer is still ticked but disabled 2) btnsub visible is SET to FALSE.
I would prefer one of the following
Either have the chkpeer checked - enabled and btnSub still Visible (Ideally)
Or Chkpeer unchecked and enabled so that when I check it again it activates the btnSub ..
This code works fine if i use this inside ssercontrol > panel and i have a checkboxes in table when no checkbox is checked its works fine .... but if i disabled and checked any of the textbox then this doesn't work .... in usercontrol why ? i didnt understand ..

My Datbase structure : ID Name Seats Date 1 Sumit 1,2,3 11-Dec-2010 2 Mili 1,4,5 13-Dec-2010
Example of this is that site have a look to know more : what i want : [URL]
I have a report page, that displays many rows, each row having its own checkbox with its value being an ID field from the database. This is for a bulk operation, that will be preformed on all the row's where the checkbox was checked. So if the user checks multiple boxes, hits a button, I need to send all the checkbox values to a controller's action that will take those Id's and process them.
I have an ASP.NET web form that has 6 checkbox. 1 checkbox is to call a Function to select all checkbox and show the message "You have selected" 6 "items" (in this case, 6 checkbox). If a user doesn't select the Select All checkbox, they can select or deselect other checkbox individually and the message will be "You have selected" # "items" I'm trying to do this in jQuery, but it's not working yet. Here's the script:
[code]....
The CSS class CheckBoxClass is not with the HTML input, that's why I'm looking for checkbox Id instead of checkbox class.
I have a Datagrid with 2 textbox template columnsand two checkbox template columns. I have two other Textbox controls and two CheckBox controls. I have an Add button.
I want to be able to use the add button to update Datagrid Record inserting the Textbox control texts and the Checkbox Control status.
I am absoluetly confused. My web app has a checkbox list that my code is looking to see if the user checked it. Like I said, very simple stuff... Here's the code:
If (chkLaunch.Items(1).Selected) Then Launch = 1 End If
The odd thing is that when it gets to this bit of code it just moves right past it like it wasn't checked. The same thing happens when I use a single checkbox (rather than a checkbox list). I've tried a bunch of different ways to make the code work but I'm left to the conclusion that I'm just not telling it to do this correctly. Either that or my project is messed up somehow.I say that my project is messed up because when I add an object to the page in Design mode, it doesn't write the source code. So when I save and close, all the modifications are mysteriously gone. This happens on multiple PC's...So, is the checkbox problem just me not doing something correctly or is my web project messed up?
We have recently had some security issues with our web app where users have actually gone into the IE debugger tool and enabled a "Submit" button and saved data they shouldn't have. So...my question is....is their anyway to prevent this from happening?
How can i see if a check box was checked with razor. I am trying to do Request["checkbox"] and it returns nothing. (checkbox is the "name" of the checkbox).
My web app (asp VB 2005) uses Windows authentication. If the user isn't part of a specific AD security group they don't get to edit the data; instead I redirect the user to a read-only page. The program works fine in the IDE.I published the web app to my laptop and Disabled anonymous access. When I ran the program I got redirected to the read-only page. I added a write event to the application event log to see what was going on, and found that the WindowsPrincipal.Identity.Name contained my laptop's ID, not my user name.I reassert: anonymous access is disabled in IIS and the web.config file has Windows Authentication.
Can anyone shed some light on why DotNetNuke comes configured with request validation and event validation disabled? They're both off at the web.config level for a default install which seems to be a regressive approach. Are there any sound reasons for this and what is the functional impact on DotNetNuke if they're turned back on?
Obviously appropriate input validation should be happening in code anyway but the native .NET framework behaviour is always a nice fallback.
