Aug 20, 2010I've got a problem with showing images on a page, that i hope someone might help with.
I have two sites like this;
C:WebsitesWebsite - Main Site
C:WebsitesAdmin - Admin site for main site
There is a table in the database that has a link to an image in a folder like this;
C:WebsitesImages - image store
The problem i am having is that when i view the page, the images don't show up. But if connect to the images folder using Windows Explorer then view the page again the images are visible.
Is there a way to have an image store and then all images be availabe to both sites?
I have though about the possibility of using a structure like this; (but i'd rather not)
C:WebsitesWebsite - Main Site
C:WebsitesWebsiteAdmin - Admin site for main site
C:WebsitesWebsiteAdminImages - Image Store
And reference them like this;
Main Site '~/Admin/Images'
Admin Site~/Images

Apr 29, 2010I have a folder at my server as Images consists of 200 images. My aim is to show those images in my webpage. What ever my be the control no problem like(gridview,.....) How to retrieve those images. *It should be dynamically generated. In future the count of images may increase. Better to have paging. If possible when i click on single image it should give a popup to show that image in large size.

Oct 22, 2010i have started to do a Asp.net Website Project...Am given few Images , to place it according to the requirement Web Page Sample image given by the client....Am just wondering how to calculatethe exact dimensions of the various parts of a page for Placing Images Perfectly.
Am using Html Divs , Css and a tool called WebPage Maker..Using WebPageMaker Tool i can place images and by running on a browser ,i can calculate the dimensions of that particular part[ For Ex:Header Image] by using FireBug Tool.....
But when using those dimensions[Left,top,Width& Height], at asp.net page by using Divs & CSS...Total page gets collapsed and images just run away.........
Whats the best Approach to do this..??
As of now,am given Few images[Cut], and the original required Image..On seeing that , i should place images accordingly...
But Am not able to calculate dimensions for using at Html Divs and CSS in a ASp.net Page..

Jul 15, 2010In my webpage I have 20 .jpg Images. Sometimes it can take about 10 seconds before the webpage is loaded and all images are seen.
I have one .jpg image that are more important to visually see first before the others.
So my question is if it is possible to "force" one image to load the Very first to be seen visually? I dont know if this works in a specific order or the webpage renders it by random?

What I am already done is, I created a folder in my severer side and continuously check for latest image in that folder.
whenever anew image arrived in that folder I display that image in my web page.
It was working when I am testing the code by dragging images in to that folder one by one.
But, when my application connected to the camera, images was coming in to that folder but my application don't have permission to take those images to display

Dec 17, 2010I am working on a financial portal and I am having a problem..I don;t know what to call it so i mentioned it as an 'unknown to me' problem..I have a webpage..whenever I click on any button on my webpage, the request goes through..but nothing show up on the webpage..then If I click on another link and then again come back to previous link,then only I see the results of button_click..
e.g.
I have a currency conversion and investment form..so after filling up the form in following way and if I click on "INVEST" then nothing shows up..
so now if i click on any other link and go back to 'buy currency' link I see the result as 'investment successful'
HttpHandlers / Modules :: Cache Images - Page Takes To Long Due To Images Not Caching?
Mar 31, 2010I've been trying to get image caching working for the last 8 hours and I keep the same problem time and time again, I'm trying to cache Images at the moment and then when thats succesful, apply this to cache my js and css files. I have at the moment Sql Dependancy caching working on my dynamic pages but the page still takes to long due to images not caching.
What I have tried is going to IIS7 Management and adding HTTP Response Header for the images folder and setting various things for the cache control.i dont care how long it caches it on the client or on the proxy servers i just would like it to check when the file was modified and compare it with the one in the client or proxy cache and if they are different then fetch the new image which has been ftp up. i could solve this by changing the image name but the thing is the image name is generated when they are ftp'd to the site by an application and the name is a direct reference to the product so i cant change the name each time, as it would mean making a lot of otherpages accross the board.
so What i would like, is to set and expiry date of lets say 32 days or more on the images and then check to see if they have changed by date modified or some other way of checking(Etags maybe) I'm not sure, if they have changed on the server then redownload and recache them, I tried using post-check and pre-check together but that just permantly cached them, so when i change the image the only way it would display the new image is to just hit F5.
In Brief, how can i Cache images, on the client machine/ proxy cache and recache them when the modified date of the file has changed.

I want to get clients images in web app(upload) and store them in DB (mysql) then send these images to windows app via web service (so i new web service, not web site). But i have 2 problems:
I have 2 ways to store images in mysql, first i should have BLOB field in DB -that it takes more space-, second i should save just name of each image in DB(so have image in one folder) -in this way i don't know how get image from clients and store them in that folder-. which one? Or what other? How (code) can i transfer image via web service(Byte[] or? ).
