I have a gridview which I am binding through code behind, I want to filter the gridview based on the value given by the user in textbox. It would be great if I'll be able to filter the gridview without any postback.

View 1 RepliesI have enabled User Rolls and assigned several Roll names such as 10, 11, 12, etc. I have a SQL Table that contains various fields of information including one named AuthorizedUserRoll, it's nchar(2).
A logged in user should only see the records in Gridview that matches his/her roll.
I'm using Web Forms and VB.

Since there is no server side event like keypress on a textbox, I decided to do use the client side onkeypress event and call a server side code using PageMethod. But then ran out with the limitation of PageMethod being static and I can't access grid from server side code.

I am planning a project for a pharmacy to enter quality control data to generate reports and graphs with Crystal Reports. There are 20 stores, I need to password protect the entrance page, giving each store their own username and password (just one per store is fine), allowing the store to only access that store's data. Each store will have an associated ID in the MSSQL table.I am using the Membership Provider. I know I need to implement user roles for Managers and Stores levels (Managers can run reports for all stores), I wonder if I can set the default store ID for insert/edit templates after that specific store logs in.Basically, I think I need to filter SQL queries based on the store ID associated with a user ID. I have seen a .NET site that, after logging in, you type in a store id into a textbox, and it gives you access only to that stores data. Something like this would work for my situation.Can anyone explain or show me an example for the best method to accomplish this with C#?

The files are stored in a server folder while the location is saved in the database. The code below gets all files in the folder and binds them to a gridview.

What I want to do is to get only one file per user as the fileID along with the location is saved in for every user. I ran a query to get the fileLocation and pass that location stored in the database instead of the current server path but I can't figure out how I would do it.
I have a gridview that I'd like to have changed based on a value selected in a dropdownlist. I'm able to get the aspx page to display the dropdown list (comming from SQL), and when I select a value, the page reloads, but no data show in the griview.

I have a database of cars manufacturers and their car models. I want to have buttons above the GridView, each button listing a manufacture. When the button is clicked, the Gridview will filter the data to only show the models by the manufacturer clicked. I don't want to use a listbox or combo box, it has to be 3 rows of individual buttons or links.
I am using VB.net and I was able to do this with the dropdown box, but it is not as clean as having a row of buttons.
As per ListBox Items a data should show in GridView by using UP and Down arrow keys. I tried by using Oonselectedindexchanged but when a page loads from listbox the cursor become active to inactive.

There is one search button for searching the records of user with different method suppose as Bindgridview2(); .

The Textbox is used as a filter for the where clause in the Linq statement. All works as expected however I want to be able to use more than one word as a filter. This is the problem. I take the textbox string and convert to an array
