Force Menu Popout To Trigger On Click Instead Of Mouseover?

I use a ASP.NET Menu control with Orientation=Horizontal. It is kind of irritating that the popout menus appear on mouseover, which causes it to show by accident if you move the mouse over the menu when you want to click on something right below the menu. Then the menu popout hides the element you actually wanted to click on! Is it possible to change the functionality so that the popout requires a mouse click instead of mouseover?

I'm having a little problem with the popout icon in the ASP menu control not appearing when the sitemap node doesn't have a URL. Take the following sitemap nodes as an example:

</siteMapNode>
<siteMapNode title="Top 2">
<siteMapNode title="Sub 2" url="~/Sub2.aspx" />

The first top level item - Top 1 - gets a popout CSS class written to the tag that spans the label. However the second top level item - Top 2 - does not get the class. Given this class is generally used to hold the arrow indicating there's more content beneath the item there's a bit of a usability problem here. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Or alternatively, is a sitemap node without a URL attribute somehow breaking the intended usage of the control?

I have an ASP.NET document, with an Image element within it. I created a mouseover function on this image element and it's working fine. The question is: If the mouse is ALREADY over the element when the document loads itself, the mouseover function doesn't trigger (I need to mouseout and then mouseover again in order to trigger it). Is there any way to check in the $(document).ready function if the mouse is already on top of this element? and if yes- trigger the mouseover function.

i have created a masterpage with menu. i add the menu item by retrieving the imageUrl ffrom the database and displaying the images instead of text and the same goes for the submenu. it worked perfectly but the problem i have is that i need to change the images of the menu on mouseover the images which i have save the URL of the images for the mouseover inside the database together with the URL of the original images of the menu.

I've found posts about making a click event with jQuery for a button, however I need a little more then that. When any postback occurs on a page, I need to fire off a jQuery click event. Based on a condition, I want to continue processing (including running the server-side event code after the jQuery code), or, perform a redirect. I'm not quite sure how to go about this.

i have a menu which is collapses as a default. This is done by following query.

Now, the problem is, whenever i click on any menu item by expanding the menu, the item page opens but the menu collapses again. I want to let the menu remain as expanded although a menu item is clicked. i.e. menu shouldn't refresh when a menu item is clicked.

I am using frames in my webpage.in one of the frames i have a menu control whose items are database driven.when click on the menu item, i want another page to be displayed in other frame.
now i want to pass the the selected menu item text to the other page using session variable which is in the menu item click event method.but the thing is when i click on the menu item, the click event is not firing.
is there any better way to pass the selected menu item text to the other page?

I have a set of accordian divs (powered by the prototype library) in an asp.net page. I would like to save the state of the accordian, so when a postback event occurs, the same div is open rather than reloading the page entirely and opening the default div.
My plan was to set a page control value with the ID of the open div using the div's toggler click event function, and then fire a click event after postback calling that same div (using the value of the control holding the div ID) as the target. I'm not sure how to fire a javascript click event from vb.net however, and this sure seems like a lame workaround.
1) can you tell me how to fire a javascript click event from the vb.net codebehind page

I have the following case, all my controls on an update panel on the page.
one of these controls is a grid view , this grid view contains a check box on the header template field( to make a check all) . the autopostback is true but when the check changed no thing is happen , the update panel has a trigger asynchronous post back for the gridview.

I am using Update Panel in my asp page and I am doing JQuery Validation on Asynchronous Postback...I just want to validate my form on only button clicks or submits..My problem is..all my buttons are in different formviews and won't load at a time...that's why I am unable to take the button id's and use the click events..here is my code..

I have four server-side panel controls that, when clicked, trigger some jQuery animation. I'd like them to also trigger some AsyncPostBack as well. Is there an easy way to code that server-side? I know that the Panel controls don't have a Click event.
I could always trigger the AsyncPostBack via JavaScript, but that seems less than ideal.Secondly, (and I don't think this is possible), right now I use a QueryString and cookie to track a PreferredCampus selected. We'll be migrating this to be a subdomain. There's no way to change the URL without full-page postback, correct? What I can do is change the cookie setting via the partial-page PostBack I'm describing above, and then have the subpages catch and redirect to the correct subdomain.I'd really like more information about the first part.

My CompositeControl creates dinamically several RadioButtonLists according to the DataSource information. These controls are added to the Controls list and rendered in CreateChildControls event.
I need to create a LinkButton that clear a specific RadioButtonList selection and do a postback, to load the DataSource information again (some selections changes the data that need to be loaded from the database). For each RadioButtonList, I've put a LinkButton and assigned the Click Event to a method inside the same CompositeControl, to do the RadioButtonList cleaning.
Unfortunatelly, the LinkButton doesn't trigger the Click Event. In HTML code, the link has the "onclick" attribute setted with the asp.net event, but when clicked, nothing happens.

I have an asp:Menu control on a master page that is reading its menu items from a web.sitemap file via a SiteMapDataSource.When I click on a menu, the new page loads which uses the same master page, but the ASP:Menu vanishes. I have put some plain text next to the menu for testing, this appears on the new page but the menu does not.Does anyone know how to get the asp:Menu to remain visible on the page?

I have UpdatePanel with GridView and i want register posback triger for index changing and asyncpostback for pagging and sorting.
When registering AsyncPostback (with event) and Postback in one control i have ASP event.
How go around this problem? , dynami register triggers mayby is a solution but i can`t unregister triger.

i am currently developing an asp.net project. there is a previous, next, and cancel button that the user can utilize, but the problem is that everything is broken into controls so that if they hit the browser's back button it will reset everything and take them to the very beginning. i would like to capture the onbeforeunload event and trigger the previous button click event (i.e. treating navigation like clicking the previous button).

Here what I want to give delete facility to the user upon the selection of checkbox corresponding to the particular record. I have searched around but unable to find a solution that will work. I have a link button that is created dynamically during the page load. It is given an ID (obviously). There is a script manager on the page. I have the controls added to a panel in the updatepanel (updatePanel1). There is a dynamic label that is also created with each link button. I can get a response from the linkbutton click event during a postback on the second time clicking the linkbutton, but I am getting a complete postback instead of the asyncpostback for that control. During the creation of the dynamic linkbuttons, I am also creating a dynamic trigger for each button and adding it to the updatePanel1. The Click event is not firing the method without doing a complete page postback.

i have created menu dropdown as css based but problem is that when i am going to click on any menue it will remain same after post back so now i want to select those menue link wether i have clicked.
i have follwing code here is 2 main menu links
1 Dashboard: it has no child links
2 Manage security: it has 2 child links
when i click any one of them links from Manage security menue, all retain same after specific page is redirected so how can i select such menue which page is redirected.......
