View 1 RepliesI have a problem where our CSS file is not playing nice with the CSS in a wrapper we're injecting our content into. I have some rules specified in our CSS file with !important declarations because the wrapper's CSS is causing the browser to ignore my rules. Unfortunately, this is overriding the styles in the wrapper and I don't want it to do that. You can see an example of this here:

The !important declaration in some of my CSS rules is causing the links in the navigation bar on the left to change size when you hover the mouse over them. If I remove the !important declarations however, the links in the table & the clipboard start to misbehave, in that they start changing size when you hoverover. (to see the clipboard in action, check a few of the boxes in the table & click "Check Your Selection")
I know our CSS isn't the best, how I could go about getting both to work together?
I also tried prefixing all my rules with ".content " because all of our content exists inside a div with the class "content" but that had no effect.

User can select the file he wants from a list of available files (RadioButtonList) and clicks on download button to download it. (I should not provide link for each file that can be downloaded - this is the requirement).What I want?I want the user to download multiple files one by one by selecting the required radio button and clicking on the button.What problem am I facing?I can download the file for the first time properly. I have a ListBox1 on the Form that I read in the same Directories: "GetS" as in the code below.
Now I select the first index wich is 0 in the listBox with the mouse and press Button1.
What the code below does is to find that specific folder that also contains a .BMP file and a file: File1.txt
So I will first delete the .bmp file and the File1.txt and at last the directory.
My problem is as follows. When I press Button1 the First time, nothing at all was deleted but the second time I press the Button1, the .BMP file and the File1.txt were delete fine.
But the code breaks at this line and says that the directory isn´t empty. But the directory is empty as I can see when open it manually.
So initially my problem is why the .BMP, File1.txt and the directory aren´t deleted at the first press of Button1 ? (ListBox1 has AutoPostBack set to TRUE and everything is put inside an updatepanel)

I am using URL routing in asp.net application (not MVC) . I have Admin folder in my aaplication which has admin related aspx pages with seperate web.config. I have seperate login form for admin users which is placed in admin folder itself. My issue is whenever I hit [URL] (which I want to go to login form for admin)- it tries to authenticate and goes to login url mentioned in web.config of root folder.
Note: Admin folder has anonymous access in root config file. Also I have set default document in config of Admin folder. I have added following line in global.asax so that routing doesnt work for files in admin folder;

In VS2010, in html files, JS IntelliSense works in script tags, but not in inline event handlers (onclick="...") Is that expected behavior?

I manage a large asp.net site which has previously been converted from static html site to asp.net. For several reasons (mainly SEO) we decided not to rename all the files to .aspx back when we originally converted the site. This was very easy to do by simply adding the buildProvider and httpHandler to the web.config.

Now I am upgrading the site to use Asp.net WebPages with Razor cshtml files. I can rename all the files if necessary, and use url rewriting to make the urls stay the same, however it would be much easier if I could just configure the web.config to tell it to parse .html files as if they were .cshtml. I have searched around quite a bit, and could not find anything equivalent to the PageHandlerFactory for razor pages. It appears as though it is just an internal mechanism in the .net 4.0 ISAPI handler.
The site is currently running on Windows 2003 server and IIS 6. We will be upgrading to 2008/IIS 7.5 in the near future, but I'd prefer not to wait for that. Is there any way to get the .html files to be parsed by razor as if they were .cshtml files?
I basically want to do a reverse 'search in all files', so it returns files that don't contain "keyword".Does anyone know how to do this, or the regex used, etc?
View 1 RepliesI have an application that uses resource files to display items in multiple languages. My app uses quote a lot of javascript and the alerts need to display in the local language. To do this, I have created an http handler which will read the keys and values of the culture-specific resource file and write them to a JSON array which is then embedded in the page in a script tag, the messages can then be accesses using, for exmaple:
Message.Error (en-GB = "Error", fr-FR = "Erreur")
The messages http handler works great in development, however when I run the application on a test server, I get the error: Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make sure "Resources.Alerts.resources" was correctly embedded or linked into assembly "App_GlobalResources.b0n9j90e" at compile time, or that all the satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed. The code that I use to acccess the resource file is:

ResourceSet resourceSet= Resources.Alerts.ResourceManager.GetResourceSet(Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture, true, true);
Where Resources.Alerts is the type that contains my multi-lingual definitions. The build action for the Alerts.resx file is set to "Embedded Resource". Any ideas why this works locally but not on my test server, am I missing something?

Following the first site, it had worked but when I´ve moved the pages and files to other folders and set the web.config file on this folder, now it won´t work at all!!!
The file is an *.swf object. I did put the asapi.dll to map the extension on the website root, I´ve put the

on the web.config new folder and on the web.config website´s root.
It won´t work!!! I can access the file directly!!! on the web.config of the folder that contains the file, there is a <deny users="*" /> line.

A) User upload a file.xls or file.csv that the server reads, checks and updates the database (cons:the uploaded file might be too big. file.* needs to be in correct format)
B) User downloads a tool.exe to read and upload file.xls (cons: maintenance of the tool.exe)
C) Use of a web service in excel? (don't know how to do it) but
this article might give you a hint

I've inherited a bunch of code that has server script inside of .htm files.
On IIS, a handler mapping pumps.Htm pages though the asp.net engine.
Unfortunately, visual studio doesn't notice that they should be treated as code.
Is there any way to make VS treat .Htm files as code/aspx files?

The majority of files in the Temporary ASP.NET File folder for a given application get deleted by ASP.NET following compilation -- .DLL and .PDB files amongst others remain.
Our compiler produces proprietary debug information files which are amongst those that get deleted.
Marking the files read-only prevents this but are there other options available?
I am a new to WCF. I have written ajax to use a web service before, but on this project I am trying to use ajax to WCF.After I build the project and wcf using ajax, I receive the return successfully. But, 10 or more minutes later I don't get a return, the ajax calls the error function, and the fiddler returns nothing.
If I rebuild the project without any source modifying, I receive the return successfully again.
