I wondered how the more experienced .netters out there would go about creating something whereby users could create online surveys? I can't get my head around it at the moment as I have my survey object but need to store different object types of questions within it. Also does anyone think that creating some custom controls could be the way to go? (survey question controls)

how to save value of dynamically loaded controls without using AutoPostback.
Reason i dont want to use auto postback is - by using it the controls didnt get selected in very first time hence behaving unexpectedly.

View 3 RepliesUsing Visual Studio 2008, I need to create a custom web form that when picked acts like the web content form, by providing a dialog that lets you pick a master page. I have looked through the webform.zip template and thought I had a clue, but trying different combinations has baffled me as it either doesn't appear or doesn't work.
Also when you set the project type to Web and sub project type to CSharp it doesn't appear, so I don't know if this part of the cause, because I would of hoped that the SupportsMasterPage element would of caused this dialog to appear, if it is a web item, but no luck. Frown
p.s. I have used my googling resources to the maximum so unsure what to do.
I'm trying to add two features to my website using the microsoft built-in login features. One feature I want to change is the validation of the username. By default, it allows pretty much any characters for the username. However, I want to make it so that only alphanumeric characters, and spaces. Also, I want to make it so that usernames MUST begin with a letter. I'm not entirely sure how to do this, In addition, I want to configure it so that once an account is created, a file /users/(their username)/(their username).aspx created once they are authenticated, with the master page set to userProfileMaster.master

I have a webform that gives the user the option to submit 5 referrals. Currently I only have 1 checklistbox that gives the user a choice to select products of interest for all the referrals. I would like to add a checklistbox under each referral input field in case there are different product interest for each referral? So when the referral gets a confirmation email it contains the product of interest that is specific to that referral.

When I got ot File>New File, and Choose a new webform, it creates a "flat" web form. That webform does not create a default code behind page, and it does not create a default Auto-Generated Designer-behind page.
I am using a server control on a single web.forms page. I have to use this control on a web.forms page since its a server control, although this is actually a MVC project. So I created a web.forms folder and put my new page in it. I then copy the example code from the signature control. I get the following error:
The base class includes the field 'ctrlSign', but its type (WebSignatureCapture.SignatureControl) is not compatible with the type of control (ASP.signaturecapture_signaturecontrol_ctlsignature_ascx).
I know the code works because if I removed the ID attribute from the server control, it no longer gives me this error and my control renders. But I need the attribute for the ID so I can perform is post event

When we responding to the survey, as we know, it will open NewForm.aspx. this page contains a ListFormWebpart in which questions from survey list will be displayed. Now, i need to add few labels before the questions and these label values should be prepopulated from query string. What i am trying to achieve from this is, i wll created a link with some values in query string and send to specific users. different users might have different values in query string. Whenever they click on the link, it should open the survey with prepopulated label values along with questions in list.

I have VSExpress 2012 and am creating a WebForm survey app.
I have two pages - the start page (StimEntry.aspx) and the survey page (SurveyPage.aspx)
I have a "Begin Survey" button on the StimEntry page, but am not sure how to switch the user to the survey page when they click that button. Desktop app tutorials use PAGE.show, but that doesn't work here, and I'm assuming that's because I am working in a web form, but am not sure about that.
I'm in the process of re-writing an existing survey application that is currently using nested repeater controls to display questions and answers. The application was not designed with future enhancements in mind and its a pain any time a new question has to be added to the application. The repeaters currently contain questions, answers, and controls(texbox, radiobuttonlist,etc.)
Is the repeater the correct control to use for this type of application? What is the best way to design this type of application and table structure? Are there any new controls or features in VS2010? How to design this application the correct way and make it more flexible?

I want when i click the link in gridview in webform 2 then it close webform 2 and change the datasource parameter in webform 1 without open the new window (still same window)

View 2 RepliesI've add MSChart to a webpage and I'm also using a Survey page I got from 4GuysFromRolla (http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/061604-1.aspx). Both work on my development machine but when I move them to my hosting site there are issues.
With MSChart page the chart is not displayed although it's included the Page Source code:

The Hosting site is using Version 4.0 and the dll needed for the survey is in the BIN directory.
When I moved my files to the hosting site I had to change every instance when I referred to a file from:
"~/FileName"
To
"FileName"
I've tried all of the "fixes" I could find for the MSChart that involved changes to the web.config file but because of the error messages associated with the Survey page I'm guessing this is the issue.
I want to build a survey system where you can build a form with questions and some answers to these questions and then members who will log in will be able to take the test.
Then i want to present the different results from the test in some diagram or something like that.
I have a question. I know how to send a basic email form within an asp.net web form. But my question is has anyone ever had to construct an email with variables or values that are coming from a database?
