May 18, 2010now, the error message will display if I move out of current textbox. I don't want to display it until I click submit button.

Feb 14, 2011I placed 2 requiredfieldvalidators in my page (well, actually, more like a dozen of them, but only these 2 behave this way) and can not seem to figure out why the error message will not be displayed. The validation function works (the processing code is not run and focus is returned to the first field that fails validation) but no error message.

I just watched the video on PluralSight and was just following along with the example. I created my own Movie and MovieRepository objects. I then created a strongly typed view for adding a new movie. This is what's in the view:

If I click submit without entering anything in the input field, I get validation messages i.e. The Rating field is required or if I enter non-numeric data, I get The field Rating must be a number.
I didn't wire this and wanted to understand where this is coming from.

Currently, the page has a rectangular "Submit" button, and a hyperlink for "Cancel" so they don't match each other visually. I'd love to learn how to make them both be rectangular buttons and also how to make them both look like hyperlinks, then I can always choose.

Submit Button Must Be Click Twice
Oct 6, 2011I am creating a webform that will be used for capture data. Whenever a certain option is selected in a drop down box, a textbox will appear for the user to type additional info into it.
However the problem that I am having is that it requires the user to click the submit button twice. I can't figure out how to fix this. The user should only have to click submit one time. All of the other drop down boxes work fine, it is just this one THAT IS forcing a click twice
