I'm pretty new to SOAP so go easy on me. I'm trying to setup a SOAP service that accepts the following header format:

In my ASP.Net (2.0) Web Service implementation (The implementation class derives from
System.Web.Services.WebService with WebServiceBinding confirming to WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1 .
The SOAP response sent out by the Service has two elements missing :
1> The XML header itself : (<?xml version="1.0">)
2> The opening and closing Envelope tags with NameSpace ("<S:Envelope xmlns:S=http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/>" and "</S:Envelope>" ).
This results in "breaking" of my client unless the above mentioned headers are inserted at the client end, and my intent is to avoid bypasses at the client end as far as popssible.Is this the default behavior ?

ASP.Net 2.0 Web Services automatically create both SOAP 1.1 and SOAP 1.2 bindings. Our web service, however, has SOAP extensions and custom exception handling that make the assumption that only the SOAP 1.1 binding is used (for example, the SOAP extension uses the HTTP SOAPAction header to control behavior).
I am looking to correct the code that makes these assumptions and make it work with either SOAP 1.1 or SOAP 1.2 properly. I am running into a bit of a problem in the generation of elements for our SOAP faults.
Consider the following web method implementation:

The SOAP 1.2 response now has the wrong qualified name for the detail element. It should be <soap:Detail>, but instead is merely <detail>, same as the SOAP 1.1 response.
It seems that the ASP.Net 2.0 framework has done quite a bit to transform a SOAPException into the appropriate form for the SOAP version, but neglected to properly handle the detail element. Additionally, they don't seem to have exposed the correct SOAP 1.2 qualified name for the detail element as was done with the SoapException.DetailElementName property.
So, what is the correct way to add a detail element to a SOAP fault response that works for both SOAP 1.1 and SOAP 1.2? Do I need to detect the SOAP version myself and hard-code the SOAP 1.2 qualified name for the detail element?
I am developing a web application which uses a third party Web service. It requires Username & Password in SOAP Header request. I am passing those credentials well and the web service returns an XML string in Response and also a SESSION ID in the SOAP Header.
I don't know how to read/access the soap header from the response sent from the web service.

One of our client uses squid proxy and tries to connect to our asmx web service(which is deployed on our server over internet) via our windows application. But windows application fails to connect to our web service and gives below error.."This method call needs the custom bla bla.. I am trying to modify my header but haven't been successful. I am using proxy in 2.0. I created a separate class which inherits the soap header. I have copied my code but I am not sure how to go about this. How do I attach this header to proxy.

As like this there are plenty of web methoad's in my webservice and i don't want to check the username and password on all the methoads. instead i wanted to checkonce and provide access to all the methods.Â
I'm having trouble setting up a custom NEW User Screen. Here is my situation, I have a Request for Access Screen that uses the CreateNewUser Wizard Control. I want to leave the Question and Answer for this, however I also want a custom NEW User Setup which I build myself to allow the system administrators to setup users, but for this setup I don't want the administrators to have to pick the question and answer for the NEW user, so I would like to bypass this for this setup. However, my Membership.CreateUser keeps asking for it. How can I accomplish this? I've included a copy of my current web.config file. You will notice a AspNetAdminMemberhip which I use to allow the System Administrators to reset passwords.

I have a web setup package project alongside an old .asmx web service. When I build it I only get 'MyService.msi' and not the 'Setup.exe' in the 'Release' folder after build. Normally the .msi suffices for installation, but on Windows Server 2008 R2 I am getting denied from installing the .msi pacakge. I can only install .exe packages after right clicking and stating "Install as Administrator".
The server admin is still new to 2008 R2 and not sure why I can't install an .msi because I am an admin, so for now if I knew how to get that web setup package to generate the Setup.exe file as well I see my other VS.NET setup packages create.

I have a Gridview where I want to handle the Sorting in a custom control that I've added to the header.
I've added this control to my GridView's Header via OnRowCreate event handling. I want the Sort Expressions to persist session to session (via Webparts Personalization)
Here is what I have for adding the custom header control to the GridView Header

This works out well for adding the control, but I can't get anything to persist because these controls are creating initially via postback (per the event) and re-created on all subsequent postbacks. I can't add an If(!IsPostback) because the controls are initially created on the gridview's postback (well at least thats how it's acting when I put it in there) If I were to add this control via the ASP page, not via the Codebehind, I would be able to persist the control. If I try to treat it as though everything is setup correctly, and assign my custom control's controls to [Personalizable], I get a runtime error telling me that I can only have webpartzones in or before Page_init (I'm guessing this is due to when/where the
gridview hits the OnRowCreate event). If there is some fundimental logic I'm missing, or best practices that I'm moving away from,

View 1 RepliesI have a Tab Container that I would like to be able to add a star (*) at the end of the tab header text when there are NEW Users to be approved by the Site Administrator. By default meaning that is what I typed in designer mode is "Users Waiting Approval", but when I load the page I run a routine to see if there are and new users requesting access and at that point durning the page load I would like to change the tab from "Users Waiting Approval" to "Users Waiting Approval *" with the star at the end (*). How can I update this tab header text durning the page load event? Is there some javascript function I can call like set_HeaderText?

i have a gridview bound to sql datasource with template fields binding the columns. I have set the Header Style to a css class. I have 3 columns not bound to data as Add, Edit and Delete. When I set the text color to white for the header only the non bound columns go white. The bound columns are BLUE like hyperlink. Any one know a way round this. (If I set the style in the gridview the all columns are white. Want to set in external css file).

I've trying to use the API for CapsuleCRM... [URL] I've been reading some articles on SOAP in asp.net and I just don't get it. Most of them seem to be ablut creating a web service, not using it and none of them seem to explain how to use basic HTTP authentication. I have got as far as constructing the XML i want to send to the API but I could really do with seeing some example code which makes an http call using http authentication to a SOAP API.
