I have an Insert into function returns the error Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression when text the single quote is send to the access db from a form.
' I need to replace this with the ascii ' before the query is sent.

I am using 1 textbox with a Ajax Calendar extender to allow my user's to select a date graphically (exp: 12/15/2009). I have another textbox for the hour and minutes in military time(exp: 15:30). I think i have the code to grab the data from the 2 textbox's and combine them to be inserted into the field (exp: 12/15/2009 15:30). Here is my insert code for the Field:

However unless I make all the fields Nullable the insert fails, on top of that none of the other field that I have selected on the Detailsview Insert or Edit are inserted into there fields. Half of my fields have to be non-null values. So how do I fix this?
I can supply additional vb code and the aspx code if needed.
This is the error I'm getting: Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Operation_type', table '/GAOSDB.MDF.dbo.BC_Perf_Log'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated.'
This is the first non-null column.
I need to get this figured out because I have 30 other web pages that will be utilizing the same approach.

I am trying to set up an insert command in vb for sql server (not mysql). the following works fine as long as I manually enter a new ASSalesId and don't have this field auto increment. this field is set up a a primary key. I would like to just use auto increment on this field. but every time I set the field to auto increment the insert fails. if I just remove the reference to this field from the statement the insert fails.

Yesterday I upgraded to MVC 2 RC. I have several jquery ajax requests that worked fine prior to the upgrade. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
I know the MVC team made changes to the framework to protect against Json Hijacking so that GET requests are not allowed (by default) and I have changed my jquery ajax code to use 'type: "POST",' and then adorned the Action Method with the POST verb.
Again, the odd thing about this is that it works sometimes and other times it doesn't. When it fails, there are no error details. The error code is 12030 or 12031.

I am trying to use a variable from the code-behind page in a sqlDataSource WHERE statement. I am using Membership.GetUser().ProviderUserKey to obtain the UserId of the logged in user and I would like to only show record that have this UserId as a foreign key. How can I write the SQL for this?
Here is what I have so far:

How I can write following SQL query using LINQ. There is no default constraint define for the ID column so we have explicitly pass the NEWID().
I want to replicate the products of a company to another company.

I have SQL Details View insert statement, I need to have a Condition checked for the Insert Query. The condition is, I do have a table by name table1 with the No of Questions (for Eg: 10). I have a LINQ query like this:

What I would like to get is a query with an empty record

on the very top of query1. I think this can be accomplished by using the union operator, just don't know how.

Consider this snippet of code:

Note the "this.Date" part of the command. Now Date is an abject of type DateTime of C# environment, the DB doesnt store it(somewhere in SQLite forum, it was written that ADO.NET wrapper automatically converts DateTime type to ISO1806 format)
But instead of this.Date when I use sDate (shown in the first line) then it stores properly.
My probem actually doesnt end here. Even if I use "sDate", I have to retrieve it through a query. And that is creating the problem
Any query of this format
SELECT * FROM <Table_Name> WHERE DATES = "YYYY-MM-DD"
returns nothing, whereas replacing '=' with '>' or '<' returns right results.
So my point is:
How do I query for Date variables from SQLite Database.
And if there is a problem with the way I stored it (i.e non 1806 compliant), then how do I make it compliant

I have a stored procedure that is close to working. It takes the values of a details view puts them into the respective table 'entity' then should also put the @@identity into 'entloan' and should put the LoanID which is in the query string of the page the detials view is loaded on, into the LoanID field of entLoan as well. Everything works except for getting the querystring value to pass to a insert variable on my stored procedure.

i want to maintain a log of the visitors for a website.. the number of visitors is fix approximate (800), but i have to maintain the record of each visit page wise like page Id, time visited, user id. i am doing it using a database as it was .
i was asked to use a insert query on every page ,(ie each time user visits a page write the log to database), but i dint like the idea.. of making server trips every time the user visits a page and also we have a seperate database server. I tried to find a LINQ section on this forum, but couldn't, so I'll post this here since is deals with LINQ, C#, MVC, SQL Server, and well...just about everything.
Here's the details....My Application is an ASP .Net MVC 1.0 app, using C# 3.5, SQL Server 2005 Std, and LINQ to Entity.
In my View, I have numerous Html.CheckBox controls, they get passed to my Controller as a string collection via a JQuery Ajax call. The values of each checkbox are seperated by a comma(,). I then Split the string, to get the individual values. The overall purpose to to allow users to build a custom report with only the data elements they have checked the boxes for. Here is my controller:
