I am trying to enable/disable textbox when checkbox is checked (enable) or unchecked (disable). WIth the piece of code i have nothing is happening once the checkbox is checked/unchecked.
using c# I am entering two types of string in a text box for eg "so-123456" or "12345678" only this two formats are allowed to enter, when i enter only 12345678 i.e, without "so" next textbox in that page should be enabled, if i enter "SO-123456" textbox should be disabled. without any click event i.e, while entering text in 1st textbox if it contains "so" textbox2 should be disabled, if textbox1 contains only integer(123456) textbox2 should be enabled.
I have a checkbox and a textbox in a GridView (for every row), and I'd like to be able to write some javascript that would enable and disable the textbox depending on the state of the checkbox (checked or unchecked). I guess I'd have to give JS the row index somehow.
Added <Body onkeydown = "return(event.keyCode!=13)"> into a VS2008 masterpage. Did this to disable the Enter key from basically doing a button click event. The code works great, however, we use multiline textboxes that were accepting Enter to do a newline in the textbox. Now the multiline textbox does nothing when Enter is pressed. I am trying to put in scripts for google analytics in my code. But I want it to run only if the environment is production and not in dev or qa. This javascript runs at page load itself and I am confused how to make it run conditionally. My app is an asp.net app.
Javascript is always confusing to me. There are many other javascripts in the page and I just need to disable this one. Had it been a .net code/function I would check for the environment and conditionally run the function. But I am confused about how to accomplish this type of functionality with javascript
I have a scenario where a RadioButtonList needs to be in disabled mode by default and then on some event on client side, say, when a checkbox is checked, it needs to be enabled.

When the page load, the file upload control has to be enable = false when I click on the radio button list's Yes option then it has to be enable = true and when No option is clicked then enable = false
I am using a master page and web content forms in my project. I have a panel on my web content page which opens a popup window using window.open. When opening the popup window, I disable the panel on the web content form.

so i have a lightbox in which pops up an aspx page with textboxes and two buttons (submit - disabled and cancel - enabled). I wanted to enable my submit button ontextchange. it works fine when opened separately (not as a lightbox) but when i let it run normally with the lightbox function everytime ontextchange gets triggered the whole page refreshes disabling the lightbox.
now if i take out the "autopostback=true" it then will not trigger the the ontextchanged. was wondering if is it better if javascript will be the way to go for enabling the button or is there a way where i can prevent the postback when ontextchanged is triggered?
I have a checkbox together with a listbox displaying all countries inside edititemtemplate of detailsview. What I tried to achieve is that if the user checks checkbox then listbox will be disabled and vice versa.

When I run the page, the listbox was truely enabled when I unchecked the checkbox. But when I tried to update on the server side the listbox is still disabled and couldn't find the selected items.
I having a two radio button. When the second radio button is enabled, a text box which accept the email id will appear. I am validating the Email using Regular expression validator.

I am trying to keep a button disabled unless a row in my gridview has been selected. If I just keep the button disabled, I cannot ever get it re-enabled.I am assuming I need some javascript to enable it when a row is selected.
