is there a way to post asp.net code and not complie it into a dll
I would like to upload only .aspx file and the aspx.vb file. I dont want to compile it into a .dll
is there a setting or something in that I can do so I dont have to compile it?
I have a complete web application code created by other developer using asp.net c#. I am trying to deploy it on IIS 7.5 on windows 7.
In this application, there is a root folder that contains very less code files & one web.config file. This code is online currently & when we open the url, it redirects to the sub folder which is
http://******.com/pages/home.aspx
On IIS when I try to open this same path locally as http://localhost/test_project/pages/home.aspx
it simply prints the code in browser as

I fired up my first asp.net 4 app put together with visual studio 2010 and IIS doesn't seem to compile my code behinds on the fly for some reason, I have to build the site manually.
How do I configure my app to compile code behinds on the fly? I looked around but I must be missing something. Never had this issue before.
Recently, I downloaded the source code (not Binaries) of latest AJAX toolkit and introduced some changes in Calendar extender. Now, I would like to build the DLL out of it so that I can add it to my project and use it. Now, when I am trying to build DLL, it fails. It never compiles for me. Infact, I am not sure which project/application file exactly do I need to run.
Every-time, I try to open any Solution/Project, I get exceptions either for some missing files or folders. I have both VS 2005 Pro and VS 2008 Express Edition installed. I need the libraries to be compatible with Framework 3.5.
But something strange happens when i compile and checke the code with firbug.MyCode:

For some reason, the SPAN tag gets the class name, not the INPUT tag.
I previously crate website in framework 2.0 before one year and there is working good on server. But Currently I download same site on my local machine and configure again in Visual Studio 2008 with framework 2.0 compiler then do new changes on site and it running good on localhost.But the same code I upload on server again They can't work code properly.In new code I changes some XML file that retrieve data and save data, but I add new code in this XML file so it can't work with new code but previous code is working as good as previous.

produces a bunch of compile time errors in Visual Studio 2008 - although it works fine.
But this seems to be the exact way inline code should be added, at least according to this MS help file:

I am working on a page where we have a form that the user is filling some information in. When the form is submitted I want to process the information and then redirect to an external server. The catch is that I need post data to go to the external server so a redirect will not work.
Is there a way to programmatically submit a form request with post data?
For the sake of a ridiculous example let's say on http://A.com I have an asp.net page with two inputs that accept numbers and a submit button. When the button is clicked I want to send a post to http://B.com with a post data parameter "AdditionTotal" which contains the sum of the two numbers entered.
I want to implement a Payment service.I will create some values in code behind and then by using post method I have to post this values to Payment gateway and user must redirect to that page.
I can't Use form action becuase I have to create some values and save some thing in db in code behind.

How can I call a method in the code behind from a jQuery post in asp.net webforms?
In MVC it's simple, I just do this:

but I can't figure how what to put for the first parameter if I wanted to call a method in the code behind in webforms... for example, if I have a method called doSomething() is there a way to stick some location in there so that it will call doSomething() and return data to the callback?
I have PDF that opens in a browser (iframe) that has standard PDF form fields. I would like the user to fill out all the fields and then press an HTML submit button (located outside the iframe in the surrounding ASPX page) so that all the data in the PDF that was filled out in the PDF Form Fields posts that to another ASPX page.
View 2 RepliesI have 3 search pages which all implement IProductSearch. I have a results page that expects it's PreviousPage to be a cross page postback of type IProductSearch. The IProductSearch pages use the postbackurl property to post themselves to the results page. The results page then loads the search params from the IProductSearch page and loads the results. All in all its working well.
Now, I want to create a IProductSearch page that has no gui and takes all its values from the querystring. But as there is no button to press (therefore no postback url property) how do I get this gui-less IProductSearch page to cross-page post to the results page?
I have a remove hyperlink which is created in a literal and I want it to post some data (a number in a text box). I think this should be possible but when a user clicks the remove link I want to be able to pick up what is in some text boxes. I got a asp: label (hidden by css) to which I store something.
I could not use a hiddenfield since you cannot set a css class on it. I need a css class so I can select it in jQuery. I cannot select by Id since asp.net webforms change your id. I cannot use xxxxx.ClientId, since my jQuery script isn't on that form (oh oh, i miss my mvc)
Anyhow, I pop up a dialog, let the user type sth in. When the dialog closes, I set that label to whatever the use typed in the dialog. That work (I'm testing for now using some alerts) but when I add a button, and in it's click event check the value of taht label, it is still what it originally have been though.

My webapplication starts a new session at a point, where there is no reason.For the moment I even don't know, which part of code I should post.Clicking a button in the browser on the app, everything is ok for the first time.Clicking it a second time, the new session begins.
What could be the reason for this behavior? Perhaps after an answer I can better determine, what lines of code I need to show you.

I have a dynamic data bound drop down list, when the user selects thier selected item I have to use the autopostback feature.
Problem is: when the page comes back it is at the top of the page not where i have the control.
I don't really need it to focus back on the dropdownlist but to scroll to it, I want to do it in the code behind.
Any "New" ways to do it, I mean new as in code from like 2010 instead of old code from the early days.
I really don't want to use Page.Register new Script...... code if I can avoid it.
What would be cool is a ScrollToControl() Function for my code behind that worked but didn't register script.
