I have created an intranet application in ASP. From my main web page I am opening a web browser window and adding a record to database from that new window. Now on close of that window I want to refresh my main web page to reflect the database changes. My backend is "ms access" Also on the other hand I also want to disable the closing button of web browser.

I have all of my code into one ASPX file. Called Scheduler.aspx. I am using the DayPilot scheduler and the Obout Flyout. But i moved it all to one page to make it simpler. But one thing I am having probelms with is; when I save my popup it should close and refresh the page. And when I hit the close link it should close (which it does) and then refresh the popup when I click on it to open again (which it doesnt). Since I have this all on one form and I am calling the popup using the flyout I can't figure out how to do these.
My page is called: Scheduler.aspx
My Scheduler is called: dps
My flyout is called: EventFlyout
Right now I have the flyout opening from a label. So when I click on the label my flyout opens, I insert data and it saves to the database. But i have to close my browser and open another to get the data I just imputed to show.
I have tried lot of different methods to refresh the parent webpage of a pop up window.
All of my methods failed for the moment using javascript .
Basically i am opening a new window from a Sharepoint webpage.
When I click "submit" on the op up window the sharepoint webpage should be refresh.
So far i have to do manually F5.

View 2 RepliesI have a web page (aaaaaa.aspx) which opens a popup window (bbbbbb.aspx). From the popup window vb.net code, I do a Response.Redirect("cccccc.aspx") to another page. On this page I have a button and when I click it, I want to close this page (cccccc.aspx) and refresh the original page (aaaaaa.aspx) so that the changes can be seen. Presently, the page cccccc.aspx close but the original page (aaaaaa.aspx) does not refresh. Normally this works fine with just a popup window. But the response.redirect is what messing me up, I think. I did not write this code but just trying to make it work. Here is the code I am using in the button_click event of page cccccc.aspx:

The child window close, go back to parent window, and reload the page and no confirmation box to refresh the page, working as expected. but all my previous entry to the screen is gone. how to retrieve it back or any work around?

View 1 RepliesI have a page that creates a pdf and opens the pdf. I use response.write with javascript using window.open to make the window open with the pdf, works fine. I then want the main window to do a redirect to a message page. But soon as I add code to do that (either more javascript using location.href or response.redirect, it does that but the window.open no longer works. It's like it's running the redirect before it really has a chance to finish the window.open. Is there a better way (a way that works LOL) to accomplish this?

The only way I have found to set the paramaters for the report is the user must fill in the paramaters and hit the refresh button on the Report Viewer toolbar ,but I would like to have the user click a asp.net button insted. Is there anyway to call the refresh method from codebehind?

It is supposed to refresh every night.... refresh is done by other vendor(3rd party).... we dont know what method(technology) they use to refresh the databases....

I'm creating an ASP.NET MVC 2 (RTM) project that uses areas. The Index action of the Home controller of one area needs to use RenderAction to generate a sub-section of the page. The action called is also defined in the same Home controller. So the call should just be:
<% Html.RenderAction("List") %>
However, I get an exception:A public action method 'List' was not found on controller 'RareBridge.Web.Areas.Events.Controllers.HomeController'.
Note that I'm not in the "Events" area! I'm in a completely different area. If I remove the "Events" home controller, then the exception still occurs but names a different controller (still not the one I want it to call).
I've also tried providing the controller name and area to the RenderAction method, but the same exception occurs. What is going on here?
BTW: I am using Autofac as my IoC container

I need to be able to flag ANY PartyId input field with class="PartyLookup" so that it will modify the DOM and include the image next to the input field. The popup window returns data to populate both the hidden and text fields, but since the click() is generic I need to pass it the ID of the input field.
