I have a page that creates a pdf and opens the pdf. I use response.write with javascript using window.open to make the window open with the pdf, works fine. I then want the main window to do a redirect to a message page. But soon as I add code to do that (either more javascript using location.href or response.redirect, it does that but the window.open no longer works. It's like it's running the redirect before it really has a chance to finish the window.open. Is there a better way (a way that works LOL) to accomplish this?
The issue I am facing is that the current page URL is getting appended to the 'LinkAddress'(the URL being fetched from the database) and thus,the final URL formed is not a valid one.Can someone suggest how do I remove the current page URL? Is there any way it can be done without writing code in the code behind page?

I'm facing issue with the print button present in the toolbar of IE. Whenever i click the print button, the page's prerender event is called. This happens only in IE. When i try to print with Firefox, this does not happen. I have an iframe in first.aspx page. In the prerender event handler, I'm giving the iframe source as follows.
iframe1.Attributes["src"] = "second.aspx" In second.aspx, i read an image file, convert into byte array and display it in the first.aspx iframe as follows. try { response.contenttype("image/jpeg"); response.binarywrite(img); response.end(); } catch(Exception ex) { response.write("Error loading the image"); }
The image is displaying properly in both firefox and IE. But when i try to print it, i'm getting error in IE. Also, when i ran in debug mode, i found that on click of print button, the first.aspx's prerender event is being called (only in IE).
I am looking for a way to figure out the current URL that the page is currently on (NOT what the asp.net page currently is, but where the CODE is at). ie. My web app is located at: [URL] my code is: String page = [URL]
String response = GetResponse(page); //basically the above code goes to the website [URL] and parses the HTML within it and brings it back and populates the variable string "response". But, sometimes the [URL] throws me a curve ball and redirects me to: [URL] I want to be able to use a try/catch to be able to "catch" the error of a different page: ie validateUser.aspx. So, I need to do to this: try
{ String page = [URL]; String response = GetResponse(page); } catch { //code to check the behind URL to see if [URL] is the URL OR IF [URL] is the current URL }
understand I know how to find the URL of the current page the web app is on. I need to find the current page that threw the exception during the execution of the code behind.
I need to hide the menu and tool bars of a browser window, and the only examples I've found on how to do this are in the DOM with a javascript window.open command similar to the following:
The problem is, I cannot use this as the page (an aspx form) is being called with a server.transfer, so there really isn't a way to use the above code. Is there a way to set the toolbar and menubar without using window.open?
