Feb 21, 2010If I use a regular distinct selector with MySQL and show the results in a repeater I can show the the data in the webform with the following code.

But If I use this code:
"SELECT DISTINCT mid(posted,6,1) ORDER BY posted DESC"
I get the following error trying to use the code above.
DataBinding: 'System.Data.Common.DataRecordInternal' does not contain a property with the name 'posted'.
So how do I get the data I've collected with the "DISTINCT mid"-selector to appear in the webform?

How To Show The Real Time Path In A Webform
Jun 2, 2010I am developing a real time tracking system , we are using cisco apis for retrieving the current location and they store this value in a location server(cisco hardware) ie from that server we will get the x and y positions. Using this x and y posituions i need to show the path of the object. i need to continuouly connect this with location server and retrieve the x and y and needto show the path . How this will be possible. Currently we are uising timer and refreshing it with 5 seconds. Is there any other way so that we need to show the path as soon aspossible likle an ant moving along the surfacce.

Feb 26, 2010I am using a server control on a single web.forms page. I have to use this control on a web.forms page since its a server control, although this is actually a MVC project. So I created a web.forms folder and put my new page in it. I then copy the example code from the signature control. I get the following error:
The base class includes the field 'ctrlSign', but its type (WebSignatureCapture.SignatureControl) is not compatible with the type of control (ASP.signaturecapture_signaturecontrol_ctlsignature_ascx).
I know the code works because if I removed the ID attribute from the server control, it no longer gives me this error and my control renders. But I need the attribute for the ID so I can perform is post event

But on the same page I have a repeater which uses the data that is being modified by the button. On Page load i bind user controls UC1, UC2 with selected value of radiobutton. But when i select new value in radiobutton it fires selectionchanged event, executes bind method but doesn't update uc1,uc2 values. Similarly I'm trying to get button commandargument when button is clicked and update usercontrols but it doesn't.
What could be causing them not to update even when bind method is executed?

May 13, 2010I am trying to add an instance of UserControl each time on button_click event, it works for the first time only. I am adding IDs to user control by appending integers from ViewState. Why does it not add work for subssequent clicks. Here is the simplified version with the same behavoir.
