We are in the process of implementing a CMS for our project which currently extensively uses asp.net master pages and css. Also the application is data-driven and controls like gridview and listview are used. After a little search we zeroed on two CMS dotnetnuke and umbraco. Now my question is:
Which one of the two CMS is best suited and easy to use?
Do they support integration of existing code and UI's
provide links for further reference.

This seems like it should be easy..... I am pulling some results from a database and then comparing them to a checkboxlist ... if a checkbox item within a list of checkboxes is within this result list, then I want to check that box...this is an 'easy' version of what I am trying to do...

I've got an ASP.net file, and I'm trying to include dynamic code which was easy in classic ASP.
Here is what I have tried so far:
<%@ Register TagPrefix="TagPre" TagName="header" Src="alg/classes.aspx"%>
and
<!--#include file="alg/classes.aspx"-->
But neither of these seem to work. The content of classes.aspx is:
<script runat="server">
' Square class
Public Class square
Public sqRows As Integer 'Numbers of rows this square has
Public sqCols As Integer 'Number of columns this square has
Public sqArray(,) As Integer 'The square array
' Initialise square array to match size of canvas
Public Sub initSqArray(ByVal canvCols, ByVal canvRows)
ReDim sqArray(canvCols, canvRows)
sqRows = canvRows
sqCols = canvCols
End Sub
End Class

Here we have a function The 'ConfirmDelete()' which is executed each time a click event occurs on the page.
2. Then we use a logic that to find which element was clicked on i.s we append a word 'DELETE' to the ID of the control.
3.And finally check if the clicked element having ID is 'DELETED' , then the javascript function will be execute to ask the user about his/her confirmation.
JavaScript code:

Anybody know of any easy way to generate random distinct colors (preferably the same random each time). I am trying to create a MS Chart stack graph, and each series is based off of a service order type, but that list can grow, so I'm creating my series in a loop based off a distinct query and want to assign a color to them dynamically at run time. It would be nice though if they didn't change every run.

I'm trying to use ADO .NET to select data from this table in excel. I'm not sure at this point if I need to modify the table to make it more easy to select data from it. Here's what the excel table looks like
I guess I don't know where to really start. I'm pretty much trying to grab the numbers in the middle(design pressure) based on Mull length in inches and opening width. so the user will input the height and width of window. then if it's going into concrete or wood.. if it;s wood then in the clip to opening row if he uses (2)A or 3(b) he will have a DEsign pressure of 170 if mull length is 42 and opening width is 70. in the same 70 column if he uses (3)a 0r 3(b) his DP will be also 170 in this case.. So I will have a user interface and ask the user for a width of window and height of window which will be the Mull Length and what substrate(wood or concrete) based on that I want to display if u use this amount of screws A or B u will get this DP.

am looking for the best approach to using NHibernate and MVC.net. I have gone through http://www.codeproject.com/KB/architecture/NHibernateArchitecture.aspxSomeone has pointed to the use of Castle project Active record. My aim is to eliminate the need for any nhibernate dependencies within my domain. I want a quick and easy domain model that is persistable with NHibernate.

The project, once done, will provide a "portal" into a limited portion of the client's database. All clients are using a SQL database, but various server software products are involved (MSSQL, MySQL, and others).
My question, however, has more to do with the "look and feel" of the finished product. We want to be able to integrate our 'portal' easily into the client's websites and have it look as seamless as possible. Obviously, placements of logos, etc. -- but also colors, fonts, etc.
Client sites tend to be simplistic in design. We envision the customer placing a link to our site from theirs, and our site will be running on IIS on their server. At least that's the plan.
The goal right now would be to make as much of this "parameter driven" as possible, so that a lot of the install can be accomplished through some simple settings, isolated in one or two files such that at installation time we can tweak those settings and be up-and-running in a short period of time with a site that integrates reasonably well with the customer's.
But I'm uncertain as to whether there is a better approach. Obviously, we could try to redesign our site with each install with the basic design of the customer's, but this would be cost-prohibitive in some situations. So, I'm thinking about a "second best" alternative that may be adequate in most circumstances.

I have urls like this in my application: [URL]
Iphone, Ericsson, LG, HTCDesire are simple products and that is fine. It is the tabid/61/Default.aspx
I'd like to get rid of so that urls would look like these instead: [URL]
what kind of coding needs to be done here because I have a .Net open source CRMsystem that is native with these tabid/61/Default.asp but I'd like to override it with added VB.net code

I have a about 6 or 7 text boxes which needs to be validated to make sure they are not empty from server side code. So how I usually do this is, check each textbox 1 by 1 to ensure that they are not empty. Are there any other efficient methods to do this? I have searched on SO and have found out that adding all the textboxes to a list and using a for each is a much better method. Are there any other ways that this can be achieved? Thanx a lot in advance :)
