AJAX :: Display Light Box Loading Image On Page When Update Panel Is Loading
Mar 6, 2013
I have update panel on the page to avoid postback and placed a dropdownlist control within that update panel. DrodownList is filled with Category names and also it's autopostback set to True.
Now whenever dropdownlist index change's on select, untill page loads complete data it should show mesage as "Loading.... in center and middle of the page and background should become bit transparent". And when page load completely with data then that background and message should get disappear.
I've got a working update panel which works fine when updating a label control, but I can't get it to work with an updated image (initial image loads fine - the problem is with the update). I think the problem maybe that the image name and location don't change, only the physical file. In other words, I've loaded the page, then updated the image (same name and location), but the image does not update with the label? Here's my code:

my application is running in visual studio 2005, i used ajax control toolkit for .Net framework 2.0.but now i want to use ajaxcontroltoolkit latest version which is for .net framework 3.5 in my application which is running on .net framework 2.0 and visual studio 2005.how to integrate or use ajaxcontrol toolkit ?because i have some functionality like there is one file upload control and when click button it will take 2 to 3 min for upload so i need progress bar with loading gif file.because of asynchronous postback fileupload control has not file.so i must assign postback trigger to button if i assign postback trigger to button than loading gif or progress bar not working.so i want to use AsynchFileUpload control of newly release toolkit.
is there any way to do it? or any other way.my client also not want to switch over it's application from 2005 to 2008.My code is below

I am using a master page which has a table that is used for layout. In one of the cells I have a Accordion control which holds links in each panel to navigate to the various pages. I have a few pages that take some time to load so I was trying to use the update panel progress control, however it seems that you cannot use a hyperlink or a link button as triggers for the update panel or if you can you cannot if it is in an accordion control.
So I am seeking advice on how to show a loading message when the pages load in the content panes.
I have a page that uses ajax scripmanager > progressupdate so I can display the user a message of "Loading, wait..". Now, my question is the following. I have the EnablePartialRendering set to true, mainly because if I set it to false my panel with the loading stuff doesn't display. When is set to true, then if I want to set the text and visibility on a row that is normally set to visible=false, it just doesn't happen. My row doesn't show. My "Loading" message will only display if a stored procedure exist, if it doesn't I just need to let the user know.

We have installed a web site written by others which is compiled with Visual Studio 2008 and hosted in Windows server 2008 R2.
The IIS connection timeout is set to 120 seconds. But for some pages, the first page loading fails with HTTP 404 error but sequential refresh can bring the page up. The same problem happens for some images which fail to load in web pages. We are not very sure it is network related issue or hosting issue.
We need to generate ajax loading image in asp.net like as [URL]. Is it Possible in asp.net? If possible provide some solution with example or sample url to develope this.

A portion of my site requires data from a web service, with takes 7-8 seconds. How can I load the rest of the website, show a Updateprogress for the data which comes from the service, than show the data once obtained trough a updatepannel. Some working project would be great.I need the server to retun the page before the data from service is obtained, and add that data later using ajax
I have a page that performs a long-running task (10 to 15 seconds) in the page_load method.
I have client-side javascript code that will display a decent "page loading" animated gif to the user.
I am able to invoke the JavaScript method from the code-behind, to display the "page loading" animated gif, however, the long-running task is hanging up the UI such that the animated gif doesn't actually display until after the long-running task is complete, which is the exact opposite of what I want.
To test this out, in my page_load method I make a call to the JavaScript method to display the animated gif. Then, I use Thread.Sleep(10000). What happens is that the animated gif doesn't display until after Thread.Sleep is complete.
