I just installed Ajax Toolkit. The controls are available in my Toolbox, but when I insert them in a page, Visual Studio underlines them with the error message "unknown server tag".
I googled the problem and found several ideas :
check if the DLL is in Bin folder check if ajaxToolKit tags prefix is registered in web.config and make sure I'm not using a different prefix in my pages check if the DLL is registered in the pages with <% @ Register ... %>
Unfortunately all of this is fine, but I still can't get the controls to work. Is something else missing ?
EDIT : My environment is ASP.Net 2.0, Ajax Extensions 1.0, Ajax Toolkit 1.0.20229, Visual Studio 2005
I have got an error "server response error : Unknown server error" while uploading file using Ajax AsyncFileUpload, code behind function is triggered while uploading, but after code behind function executed, we are getting this error.
I was referred here by MSDN forums hope this is the right place - I have a custom control (:WebControl) that renders web.sitemap in a specific way. While it runs error free and produces the expected result, at Design-Time it complains
and have tried the SiteMapDataProvider Tag with and without the SiteMapProvider attribute.Does anybody have (a) any experience with this, or (b) any suggestions as to how to track down the problem?
I'm building a dynamic form using XML and XSLT. Anyway I'm using a custom asp.net control for CKEditor, it's an HTML editor.
When I try to add the controls from the XSLT using Page.ParseControl(<the-string-from-the-xslt-here>), I get a warning saying:
Unknown server tag 'FCKeditor.CKEditor'
And of course, if I remove the control from the XSLT everything is working fine and all the regular asp.net controls like TextBox etc get rendered to the string just fine. Does anyone know what I can do about it?
I'm trying to use a Tab control with 5 tabs inside a form view, when I view my aspx page in Visual Studio 2008 it displays a error message stating "There was an error rendering the control. Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make sure "AjaxControlToolkit.properties.Resources.resources" was coreectly embedded or linked into assembly ... " running the site just shows a blank page (as the control isn't rendered).
If I remove the tab control from within the ItemTemplate (or EditItemTemplate) and put it directly onto the page it works fine. Googling for the error suggests the references aren't correct, so I've reset the toolbox, and re-added the reference - this time referencing the file in my Bin folder (not the installation path of the Ajax Toolkit). Still it throws the same error. Finally I've stripped the code out into a page with the bare minimum (no code behind) and it still throws the same error. I'm sure I had this working previously. I'm using Visual Studio 2008 on Windows 7 and I'm using the 3.5 files from Codeplex (AjaxControlToolkit.Binary.NET35.zip) targetting .NET Framework 3.5.
I am developing a large dent in my forehead trying to figure out why my server control will not display the property editors, both image and URL navigation. I have done everything that they say on the different sites but the editors will not show up, here is my code:
#Region "Imports" Imports System Imports System.Collections.Generic Imports System.ComponentModel Imports System.Text
Ajax calendar control not working properly with content place holder of Master Page. Most of time Calender Control hides when mouseover with out changing date in content place holder of Master Page.same code works in normal aspx pages.
In my application i use iframe (to be more specific; Greybox tool). Sometimes i had an unkown error when i open page in iframe. Then i applied this fix : [URL] and that unknown error disseppeared. But i have another problem now:( I am using following script to focus to the first textbox whenever my input pages are opened in iframe.
aField = document.getElementById('txt_PID');setTimeout("aField.focus()", 50); After i applied previous fix, i get this error when i load page in iframe for the first time :
Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of type that does not accept focus. Here, txt_PID doesnt contain any ajaxtoolkit things. (also Enabled= true and Visible=true etc.) . Last thing, my current test page contains just 3 controls: txt_PID just plain Asp.TextBox ajaxHTMLEditor another textboxt with MaskedEditExtender. If i remove HTMLEditor from page; i dont get that error( Can't move focus...) and also i dont get first error which i applied that fix in toolkit.
I am experiencing problems with the Ajax Update Progress control.
My application is about writing some comments and uploading a picture and when the picture is the process of being uploaded I would like to show an update progress. This is my code:
- when the button is clicked I see the update progress message for a couple of seconds but the picture and the text are not uploaded- I need to click the button again in order to see my picture and text uploaded but in this instance I don't see the update progress message.
The user is geeting following error while uploading a file to the asp.net page. But when I try to upload the same file, I don't get this error. Is there a way to troubleshoot this problem? Also is there a way to capture exact error? I tried to have custom error page.
Description Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --><configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web></configuration> Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --><configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web></configuration>
I am using a ASP.Net Editor on the website I am developing. For some reason, it doesnt like special characters like german umlaut (ö, ä, ü) or "ß". It renders it allright during typing, but when I postback the page all I get back looks like this when I access the editor.content-property:
special characters:<br /> [....lots of square brackets....] <br />
using a different editor like freetextbox doesnt seems to have a problem with that. but I cant believe the microsoft-editor doesnt support that. its probably a setting in xml-configuration file or something like that.
One day I was developing my MVC app in Visual Studio 2010 and my computer crashed (flaky hardware - now fixed). But ever since then,in my app, whenever I have a view page or control editor up, the <%@ Page ... %> statement was squigley-underlined in blue with an tool-tip error message like:
/.../page.aspx: ASP.NET runtime error: Could not load file or assembly 'StructureMap, Version=18.104.22.168, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=xxxxxxxxxxxx' or one of its dependencies. The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT:0x80070057 E_INVALIDARG))
I deleted and re-added the reference to StructureMap in the References in the solution explorer, deleted and re-copied the actual StructureMap DLL, but the error doesn't go-away.I deleted the output directories and rebuilt, but still have the problem.
The application still builds and runs okay, but while in the editor, though I continue to have IntelliSense for the HTML stuff, for any C# code inside <% %>'s, the IntelliSense is gone.
If I copy the application tree to another disk or directory,or rename the root directory to a different name, the problem goes away. But if I use the same name or disk, the problem appears.Maybe it's some corrupted registry entry?
I am having a little problem with AJAX htmleditor, it works fine when testing on localhost, but after deploying it on server it wont work properly.
I have 3 different txt source for the htmleditor, and sometimes the texteditor just gets blank and even the toolbar of the editr disappear and after that doesn't matter which source i select the editor stays blank unless i reload the page.
