AJAX Doesnt Work / Click On Button "Button1" / Should Execute But The Whole Page Submits?

I have a very simple AJAX example that doesn't work.It is from the Microsoft tutorials on AJAX.

When I click on button "Button1" AJAX should execute but the whole page submits.

The following two controls on my page:

I set them during page load like this:

OpenLB.PostBackUrl = @"file:\webdocuments-emailsdoc1.docx";
OpenHL.NavigateUrl = @"file:\webdocuments-emailsdoc1.docx";

OpenHL works, it opens the word file.OpenLB doesnt work, when I click on it, I get a error pop-up that says:

Windows Internet Explorer Cannot find
file
'file://web//documents-emails//doc1.docx'.
Make sure the path or Internet address
is correct.

It looks like the url is different or something, how can I fix this?

AJAX :: Js: Document.getElementById("button1").click(); Not Working In Asp.net Ajax?

Before I use magic ajax, it was not a problem that if it's not ajax call, I can perform document.getElementById("button1").click();

However, in asp.net ajax extension, I can not do this and it reports a run time ajax error:

Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500

What happens is, in my code, I have a facility to check if the user change any data they just input every 5 minutes. If yes, I will do a save function without notifying the user. and all the things are done on client side. So I have to use javascript, however, I could not user button.click() on js anymore.Is there any other way to call a server side function (code behind) by javascript?

AJAX :: Button In UpdatePanel Submits Data Of All Fields?

I have multiple update panels with inside one or more text fields. Now I found out that when I update one update panel (with button inside update panel) all text fields are submitted, even them outside the update palen (and outside the validation group).

Is this correct behavior of the update panel?

How can I prevent submitting of all data? I only need the data of within the validation group.

This can be a huge performance issue when having an update panel in each tab (when using the tab panel).

VS2010 is showing no errors in my code and the page loads fine too, but the two drop down lists are emptycan anyone scan there eyes over it and see if theres any reason why it shouldnt be working?my code is the same as the tuts apart from it uses LINQ instead of SQL

In other words, I have button with code behind that needs to be excuted, but at the same time want to be able to have one of animation extenders be applied to it. I understand that I need to use the BeginRequest Event, I'm just not sure how, or which javascript commands to use to call the ajax animation so the postback will still occur.

I am very new in asp.net c#. I am trying to edit data from gridview button column click. the code is given below:

DataSource Controls :: Execute Stored Procedure From Button Click?

I've searched and searched for this all day, but can't seem to find the answer. I'm looking to execute a stored procedure by clicking a button. I've set this up in a code behind manner, rather than using a datasource.

The stored procedure doesn't return any rows. All I need to do is pass a variable through it. I think I have it set up correctly, however it keeps saying the stored procedure expected the @pin variable. Here's my code:

I've tried changing sp1 to pin and @pin, thinking that was the problem. Am I missing something?

In my local enviroment it just works. Iam no IIS Admin so ....

i try the following

My domain "http://mysite.com/" goes to my url provided by my hosting service (discountasp.net)

I want that this url goes to the root/mysite/ virtual directory but i want that the url stays on "http://mysite.com/". So i defined the following rule, but it doesnt work for me.

I am very new to WCF, I have read a lot and seen several presentations about it. I can get the basicHttp endpoint to work on my server but when i wanted to use https, I found that that endpoint binding doesnt work. I think through my research that the wsHttp binding is what i need. I can get the client to work but the service gives me a few different errors when I try to call the ssl endpoint.

Currently i get the following error:

The requested service, 'https://devwcftestsite.crata.ucf.edu/services/Person.svc/Person' could not be activated. See the server's diagnostic trace logs for more information.

If i split the statements up they work fine individually.But what im trying to accomplish is to pass in the column name that i want to select from my table.. ill pass it from the page as well as 1 other parameter.

I was looking and found some queries that will return the column name from the table but figured this may work.when i execute this,it returns the actual value in my SET @column line.so in the below code if i run it, it will just return the value "VideoLevel"
