MVC :: Want To Do Some Validation To The Data And Then Return A Error Message To The Page It Doesnt Work For Me?
Mar 10, 2010
I got a view that uses the ajax.beginform tag.This works great but if I want to do some validation to the data and then return a error message to the page it doesnt work for me.Here my code :
I have a customvalidator to validate the sum of 2 drop downs.. the validation code is working, because if the sum doesnt match my logic the page is not submitted, but if i select values that match my logic, the page is submitted.. so i know the logic is working, but the error message is not working.. and not sure why..
Some background, last week i had this working based on additional controls, but the business decided they wanted less questions on the form, so all i did was remove the controls from the validation and updated the logic to make sure it was only calculating against the existing controls. reminder that the validation is working( meaning that the page is not being submitted because it failed ) but the error message doesnt display on the page, so no one knows what is happening..
After this message is displayed , no pages is able to access ....
The error message is :
Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster
Protected Sub DropDownList1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles DropDownList1.SelectedIndexChanged Response.Redirect("memberlogin.aspx?d=" + DropDownList1.SelectedValue.ToString)
I have forgotte password page in my application,page have one textbox to insert email address,when user click on submit button if inserted email address (i.e. abc@gmail.com) does not exits in DB it will give custome error message like "Email ID not available".after that suppose user will enter inproper email address (aaa#gmail.com) than client side validation for regular expression will file "Email id not valid",at same both message be on screen,now i want only one message at a time.so please can you help me for same
When I add an update command to my page and run the page I get this error message
Server Error in '/MYApplication.

Is there a way to disable request validation on an action without having to add the line <httpRuntime requestValidationMode="2.0"/> to Web.config? I'm currently posting XML to a controller action and get the "A potentially dangerous Request.Form value..." error. Is disabling request validation the only way to get the post to work, or is there some way I can intercept and encode the value that contains XML between the view and the controller action?
I just want to add some client side (JQuery Javascript) validation in a web user control. I put an OnClientClick handler and the function gets called. BUT, even if I return "false", the OnClick method always get fired. What am I doing wrong ?
I'm with VS 2010, targeting the 4.0 framework with JQuery 1.4.2. and JQuery UI 1.8.4.
I'm new in using C# in ASP.net My code is causing Internet Explorer to run slow and return error message asking to stop running this script.
When I use the "Select *...", it return about 700 rows of records and it cause the error.
When I use another SQL "Select NOC0854....", filtering some records, it return about 300 rows of records and no error message appear.
How I can improve my code so that I can retrieve all records from my table? I think 700 rows of records doesn't seem a lot, maybe my code is not correct?
Code: //cmd.CommandText = "Select * from PTH3759"; cmd.CommandText = "SELECT NOC0854 from PTH3759 WHERE HID0019 >= TO_DATE('11/01/2014','MM/DD/YYYY') AND HID0019 <= TO_DATE('11/28/2014','MM/DD/YYYY')"; cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; OracleDataReader dr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); if (dr.HasRows) { GridView1.DataSource = cmd.ExecuteReader(); GridView1.DataBind(); }
Last year we created an application that creates folders for the records on our network drive. Everything worked til the new year.. then we had to update the code to create a new parent folder for the year, since then every other month it seems that the month folder gets created, but the individual folders under that month do not.
After a long process of configuring IIS inhttp://forums.asp.net/t/1622627.aspx ...In iis project the jquery doesnt work ...but when i run the same in vs2010...it works
If I enable client side validation in the view I'll get the error per the Attributes from the metadata class. If I take clientside validation out, error gets thrown from saving to the DB rather than return the view with an Error Summary.
This is the top portion of my view....
<% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%> <%: Html.ValidationSummary(true) %>
I've tried running without debugging (ctrl + f5) in debug and release mode as well as setting breakpoints and Debugging (f5) but it just seems weird to get Client side validation without server side validation. What am I missing here?
<asp:CustomValidator ID="QuestionValidator" runat="server" ErrorMessage="Please select an option" ClientValidationFunction="QuestionValidator_ServerValidate" OnServerValidate="QuestionValidator_ServerValidate" ValidateEmptyText="true"></asp:CustomValidator>

When I run the page, there is no validation and no error message. Please can you point out where I am going wrong, I'm suspicious it is at Page.Master.FindControl("form1").Controls.I have previously done such validation by looping through controls via form1.controls but this is unavailable as the page uses a form passed down via the master page.
How is it possible to add a custom error message to the ValidationSummary HtmlHelper? Can it be part of my model? It's for a sign up form and I need to validate whether the user already exists.
In my local enviroment it just works. Iam no IIS Admin so ....
i try the following
My domain "http://mysite.com/" goes to my url provided by my hosting service (discountasp.net)
I want that this url goes to the root/mysite/ virtual directory but i want that the url stays on "http://mysite.com/". So i defined the following rule, but it doesnt work for me.
here is my web.config that is placed in the root directory (generated by the IIS7 Remote Administration UI)
Above Resource Expression will give me message like "Fill Information.". What I have in resource file is "Fill {0} Information." which should show end user message like "Fill Address Information.".
I decided to use jquery validations because asp.net validation controls are so crazy inside the update panel.But I need to plase the error messages in the specified div whose class is putmehere ! I am unable to do that. here is my code;
