How in C# fill FileUpload control from session? I must save file from session!

i have a fileupload control.I want to stroe its value to any page level object
& then retain the value back to fileupload control after post back.
how can i do this..
it gives error that filename is read only type.
for e.g.

In my website,I have a home page in which by clicking on an image button,I get redirected to a different .apsx page .This page consists of a FileUpload control and 2 buttons(ATTACH,CANCEL).When a user selects/browses a file from his local machine and click ATTACH button,I display that file in a GRIDVIEW and also push the details of that file like Filename into a DATATABLE. The user in this way can browse multiple files and all of them are added to GridView and also pushed to DATATABLE.Now when the user clickes CANCEL button,I am sending the whole DATATABLE in a session object to the HOME page.Upon clicking SAVE button in the home page,the files in the DATATABLE must get stored in a physical location that I mention in the code. The problem that I am facing is that when I write

fl.SaveAs(dt["fileName"]);
The files are not at all getting saved in the location. However If I pass the FileUpload control using Session from the second page,
FileUpload fl=(FileUpload)Session["FileUpload"]
The files are getting saved with the correct filenames but the content of all the files consists of the content of the latest uploaded file.I know what the problem is but unable to get a solution. My Requirement is to save the files in a physical path only after clicking the Save button in the home page.
I have a user control in which i am using File upload control for uploading file.
I have used ModelPopExtender here for showing it in popup.
I am using javascript function for full PostBack. In Javascript function, i am using __doPostBack for PostBack. It is working fine when i use this control in aspx page.
Problem occurs when i use this user control in another user control. It does not find javascript function.
Inside gridview i am using the file upload control with update panel (ajax).
in save button file upload control null problem.
How to solve the issue.
I want to uplaod my images into the database.it works fine if my images are inserted into the database on postback,but when i put my FileUpload control in UpdatePanel the FileUpload.PostedFile property shows NULL.remember my scriptmanager tag is in master page.

View 2 RepliesI've got a fileupload control inside of a gridview so that each row (item from the database) can have an attachment associated with it. I've got a button next to the fileupload control (besides the default browse... button to select the file) to actually take the file and upload it to a file server. This works great if I use this button "Upload". However, underneath my gridview I have another imagebutton that is outside of the gridview, its just sitting on the form / page. The idea of this "Update" button is when end users make changes to the grid I can simply loop through the grid and update the values they have entered to the database. This also works great.
Now here is my issue assume a user has 3 rows in the grid view. On 2 of these rows he decides to add an attachment but he never clicks the "Upload" button he only uses the standard browse button to select the file. Now instead of clicking the "Upload" button that is on the grid view he ends up clicking the "Update" button outside of the grid thinking that it will save his attachments. So I decided to write code to grab the fileupload control from the grid using .FindControls("NameOfFileUploadControl") in my Update button loop where I loop through all the rows. Then I check if myFileUploadControl.HasFile property to see if there exists a file and if there does upload the file then continue with the code.
The issue is when I click this "Update" button .HasFile always returns false even though I can see the text string of the path in the fileuploadcontrol textbox (the standard one next to the browse button). Is it because this goes back to the page load event and checks if it is a post back? What causes this and how can I fix it? Im adding some code because im still confused with this

This works just as expected in dev on my localhost, but I get the error when I try it on my Winhost server.Is there an issue with the code or possibly with my IIS settings?
I have a FileUpload Control on the page with validation and it is working smoothly.
Later there is an important demand to have it partially updated so we enclose it with UpdatePanel.
Then problem comes up when user browse file and press upload button, no file is uploaded.
Is it we cannot do partial rendering with FileUploader ?

In my application Im saving multiple files(image,pdf,txt) to a folder. Suppose I have an image with name "image1", if this image already exists in the folder and if another user tries to add another image with the same name "image1" then, it should give message to change the File name.
I had used below code:

My <input id="FileUpload1" name="FileUpload1" type="file"> and country dropdown both are inside update panel , now on selectedindexchanged it do postback , which i am triggering in update panel to avoid page refresh .
Now the problem is when i select any image in fileupload and then select country , my selectedimage vanishes but its path stays in textbox .
