AJAX :: How To Update The Information Without Causing A Postback And Having To Re-show The Modal
Nov 9, 2010
I have a modalpopupextender and I want to be able to update the information without causing a postback and having to re-show the modal, normally I use an updatepanel and this is working in most cases but I have an issue with a repeater where the ItemCommand has been set but clicking the button does not fire anything, unless I set the repeater as a trigger but this then does postback and I lose where I am. Not the usability I want to provide.
I am having issue with my ModalPopUpExtender's OKControlID. I have a button inside an update panel that should do AsyncPostBack. The button works fine and runs server side code but it causes full page postback. How do I solve this issue? I want the 'OK' button inside the modalpopup to call the serverside code and update Label control 'label3' without causing the page flash. Given below is my code;
MarkUp:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <title>Next Gen Web Browser</title> <script src="http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/jquery/jquery-1.3.2.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
Below is the sample code on using the update panel. The page just has a button and a label. On button click it updates the label with the server time. Though the label is inside the update panel the page goes for a complete postback. in understanding why it is behaving like that. I tried the options of Updatemode, using different script references nothing seems working for this simple application.
I have a user control with linkbuttons (used for paging) and a repeater inside an update panel. The paging works correctly, but is causing a full page postback every time I click through to the next page.
The update panel looks like this:
[code]....
So far, I have tried adding an async postback trigger for the user control, which does cause an async postback but does not update the rest of the text in the update panel. In otherwords, the async postback occurs and the next page shows up, but the original text in the repeater is there as well just below it.
I have also confirmed that I have IDS set on my linkbuttons, since that can trigger a full postback inside an update panel.
I have tried changing the update panel mode (Always, Conditional, ChildrenAsTriggers, etc.).
None of it makes a difference - the only thing that actually causes an async postback is to use the trigger, but then the rest of the content in the update panel is not updated, so I get duplicate content.
I have the following tabpanel (it actually contains a bit more content, but that content doesnt influence my issue):
[code]....
When I remote the MaskedEditExtender and MaskedEditValidator, it doesnt show that (undesired) behaviour anymore. Is there something special these controls do that cause them to refresh? Is there a workaround for this?
I have a link button inside a template field of a gridview. The gridview is wrapped in an update panel. I want the link button to fire an async postback but it always fires a full postback. Why is this?
This is a similar problem to the one described in the link below. However, I have tried doing a RegisterAsyncPostbackControl in the gridview databound, but this did not work.
I have a label and modal pop up (ajax control toolkit modal popup) in my parent form. The modal popup is inside an update panel and it has a check box. Once the user is done making the selection I would like to bring back all the selected value and write it to the parent control. So I have a save button in the popup. Once the user hits save this is the code he runs through:
Protected Sub btnSaveClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
I have a gridview which has a checkbox column which are set to automatically postback. When a checkbox is clicked, a partial postback occurs, and the associated record is displayed to the user (this is the required function). My problem is regarding when a user clicks a number of checkboxes in quick succession. I have got ajax request queuing working fine, so each checkbox postback is eventually dealt with. However as the gridview also postsback, it resets its viewstate on which boxes are checked, removing some of the boxes which the user may have checked.I've attempted to take off the viewstate on the gridview which seems to achieve nothing, neither does placing the gridview in a separate update panel.
When an asynchronous postback happened inside update panel, another postback happens also for MasterPagenot only update panel embedded page .I want to prevent this MasterPage postback . is this possible ?think like i have a MasterPage and another page which is test.aspx which is content page of MasterPagei have update panel at test.aspxwhen asynchronous postback happens at this test.aspx update panel it also loads MasterPage Page_Loadi want to prevent this (it should not also load MasterPage Page_Load)
I have an ASP.NET button. When the button is clicked, I'd like a modal popup to display after the server-side code for the button runs. I don't want to use the ASP.NET Ajax control toolkit modal popup extender.
With ASP.NET Ajax, I can hook into the end request event. Is there a way to do this without ASP.NET Ajax. just jQuery? I basically want to run some javascript after the server side click code runs, after the postback.
I am using normal popup using jquery and css and I have one textbox and one button I need to validate that textbox but the popup is closing how to hold that popup even even if postback occurs?
I am using model popup to allow user to input there information . In this model popup . I am having two option Like OPtion-1 and Option-2 . When User will select Option-1 a panel should open on modelpop up to take Option-1 Detail .Simillarly When Option-2 is pressed another panel should open where User Can fill data. User Ca Fill only single option either OPtion-1 or 2 .
How I can do this without postback and without model disappear. I don't want to use radio or checkbox button .I want something good looking and with working function.
In my default.aspx page I have a PlaceHolder control within an UpdatePanel. In this placeholder control I will dynamically load a web user control, which is just a form with a submit button. On this user control, I have the form within an update panel and I have the "Submit" button's Click Event added to the triggers.
When I submit the form, the UpdatePanel on the web user control nor the update panel on the default.aspx page are capturing the post back, thus causing a full post back which refreshes my page.
how to capture this post so its rendered in Ajax and not a full post back?
I have a website where different comapny and users can login. Till now I have not seen any issue on IE 6. But in case of one account, when try to login the website, users are getting security information "This page contains both secure and non-secure items.
I can reproduce the same easily for the same customer but not happening for any other customer. I have "ReportViewer" control (gets rendered as iframes) on the page.
In this scenario, whether user selectes "Yes" or "No" button, the home page with charts loads 30% and other controls remains invisible. Though I see same out in "View source" for this and other customers. We dont change anything much then the data and charts for the users. We use https for this website and has few links with "http" in page. But then this is same for all the users, but it happens only in case of one customer.
I am using modal pop up and a div with two buttons(yes,no) to show pop up windows. In this scenario the user would select an item and click delete button.
Here the requirement is to show a pop up asking him "are you sure you want to delete?". IF he clicks Yes, the item should be deleted, If he clicks No, the item should not be deleted. To achieve this i have written a javascript function, which would be called on onclientclick event. in this function i am calls modalpopup.show(). In onclick event i have wired with server side event. But the server side event should be fired based on the selection the user made in modal pop up..But in my page, on the button click, client click fucntion is calling first and after executing this, it is automatically caling server side function. After that only the modal pop displaying..when i returned false from javascript funtion, server side func is not firing. I need the server side function to be called based on the selection user make in modal pop up..Is it possible?
what i want to do is that , i have html.actionlink and i want when the user click show a ajax modal dialog to it and get the data.
for example in my view INVOICES i have <%html.actionlink("Select Customers","actionresult","controller")%> and i want when user click the link , show the modal dialog who contain the list of customers. after the user click one customers come back to my INVOICES view with the ID of selected customers.
I have a modal popup with an image cropping tool I wrote in JavaScript and it passes the coordinates to the codebehind on postback. Anywho... for some reason when I call the Show() method the modal popup is rendered 3/4 of the way down the screen. I checked firebug to see what CSS might be conflicting but found nothing to be conflicting with it. If I enable the reposition modes it will adjust to the correct position on scroll or resize but not when it is rendered.
I'm trying to create a modal popup that has multiple buttons that a user will click to choose options. This is all well and good but when the user clicks an option it fires a full postback. The modal opens async, but I can't get it to hide async. Heres some code:
Ive used code that will allow me to find a modalpopup control through code behind and then show it to the user using the Show() method. The code works perfectly fine in some of my pages but not in others!Ive used breaks in my codebehind and it does find the popup and it goes into the Show() method but nothing pops up ?
