Can any one let me know "Is it possible to use Both Silver Light Controls and ASP.Net AJAX Controls in a Single ASPX Page or not"? If so hw can it be achieved?

I have a main page that has been converted to silverlight and lot of controls that are still in asp.net 2, can anyone give me any information on how to host the ascx controls in silverlight?

View 6 RepliesI am going to start Silverlight application. I have VS2008. In template panel I am not able to see Silverlight application. Silverlight project and silverlight class library are there.
I have choosed silverlight project and compiled, it gives some assembly does not exist (system.silverlight,system.xml.core,system.agclr) message.
Kindly clarify what are the tools have to install to create Silverlight Application. How to avoid these errors. Also give the reference of silverlight tutorials. kindly let me know what can i do to create silverlight application.
I have update panel on the page to avoid postback and placed a dropdownlist control within that update panel. DrodownList is filled with Category names and also it's autopostback set to True.
Now whenever dropdownlist index change's on select, untill page loads complete  data it should show mesage as "Loading.... in center and middle of the page and background should become bit transparent". And when page load completely with data then that background and message should get disappear.
I am using a custom error page in IIS 6:<customErrors redirectMode="ResponseRedirect" mode="On" defaultRedirect="Error2.aspx"/>I want to disable authentication for the custom error page because the error being raised is related to an authentication module and I don't want to get into an infinite loop and I want to display a clean error page to the user. I have been trying the following configuration to do that.

Is there any way to compile just a single .aspx file from the command line? (I think that would suit the needs of my script) It seems that all aspnet_compiler.exe can do is compile at a directory level.

Is there a way to allow the designer to use ftp to upload a single aspx page (foo.aspx and foo.aspx.cs) without requiring the use of the VS2008 Publish feature? We're a small shop and haven't bothered using source control as it wasn't much of an issue with the web site model. If the designer uses the Publish feature my binaries will be overwritten. I know that static pages are compiled at run time so I thought this would be possible but my tests result in errors. I've clicked around for some guidance but come up empty handed.

Now in the settings.aspx i allow the users to add controls dynamically. For example the user can create 5 textboxes. When he saves it there, I need to get that controls to main.aspx.
So i need to move all the controls from one page to another page. I'm not able to think of a solution with user controls.

View 7 RepliesI have a stored procedure that returns 3 tables within the single recordset it returns. If I set a SqlDataSource to get data from this procedure, it works, but it only returns the first table. I want to have a GridView display the data from the 2nd or 3rd table using a SqlDataSource, but I can't figure out how to specify a particular table.
While there are some posts discussing this out there, I can't get a definitive answer about whether or not this is even possible (?). In a worst-case scenario, I can create another SP that only returns the 3rd table - but that creates a little maintenance headache that I would prefer to avoid.
For context: First of all, I am new to LINQ, as I have been using SubSonic for quite some time now.
I have two tables, Users, and Affiliates. They both have a very typical schema. The FK that joins them is the UserId field, which is in the Affiliates table. I want to create a LINQ query that pulls the Username from the Users table using the AffiliateId value. The AffiliateId is a primary key of the Affiliates table.
I have tried to accomplish this using many variations of the following code:

In the above query, I expect to get a single row result set. However, I instead receive the entire table of results.
How can I make this work? I have yet to see an example or article out there to do what I am trying to do.

In this page there is a Panel with ID : "ModalPanel".
There is a ModalPopuExtender on "ModalPanel".
I show this panel (ModalPanel) from code-behind. Works very well!
If in the same page I create another Panel "ModalPanel2" with another ModalPopuExtender : the second panel don't works!!!Why?!
The "ModalPanel2" is always visible! And don't has the behavior of a Modal Panel (like the first one).

My Question is related to access the rows in one page and putting conditions in another page.I need to check whether a datagrid has row in it or not. DataGrid is in .aspx page. Based on this checking i need to write a condition in .ascx page.the .ascx on which condition is checked is linked to .aspx page. View 2 RepliesI have a dialogue window that contains an Accordion Control that is dynamically built. The only thing that appears on my source page is the opening and closing tags for the control. The panes and the controls that appear on the panes are all added dynamically based on records in a database.
Now here is my situation, if a certian action is performed on one of the controls then I want to save that controls data and make it no longer available for use, this was easily accomplished by having the control hide itself. An issue arises though when I have hidden all of the controls on a certain pane, the header for the pane still exists and this is not the desired result.
What I would like is to be able to dynamically remove the entire contents of the control and then re-build it. Due to the timing of the events in the page post back sequence, a simple call to the method that builds the control will not work and if an explanation is required I will provide one. Also, looping through all of the panes and the controls on each pane will not work since after the first pass through the loop the panes collection is mutated, the enum table for the control is no longer correct since the initial pane has been removed, as a result the for loop throws an error.
Can any one come up with a way that I can clear out the control, keeping only the basic empty structure, and re-build it all in a single post to the server?
