if my menu bar doesnt appear on IE 8 and above? How to solve that, "Without using compatiblity view setting" ? I think, can Asp.net solve that problem? Because, for make user friendly website..so, no need configuration first.

I have a VS2010 Web Application that uses the AjaxControlToolkit. I am able to build the Debug configuration. When I build the release configuration I get the following error message: Error 89 Could not load file or assembly 'file:///S:My CodeLibrariesACTMay 2010AjaxControlToolkit.dll' or one of its dependencies. The location of the file is correct, and I just downloaded and unzipped there the Ajax CT. I have always built this app correctly before upgrading to VS2010 and ACT May 2010.

What I don't understand is that my .menuItems works perfectly good...For the "hover" style, if I try with ".menuItems:hover" it will work but I don't know why ".menuItemsHover" doesn't...What am I doing wrong with this code? I followed a lot of tutorial but no one seems to work...

I need a help in creating a vertical oriented Menu control with dynamic url's set in there Navigate Url property.Also i need to set the menu items as enable/disable in two different modes say edit/new.
I am trying to develop menu usings the hover menu extender. I have nested menus - in other words, if some items in the drop down menu (hover) have menu items that are displayed next to it (using another hover menu extender control). I am trying to keep the original menu displayed when the sub menu is displayed, but with no luck. I have tried using animation, but that doesn't seem to work.
View 9 RepliesI am having slight trouble with the menu control on a website which I am developing. In IE 8 the text doesn't appear in the dropdowns. This is intermittent between two different nodes. :S I have added the z-index: 1000; fix, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. The site is currently here: watercress.lukestratton.co.uk , please don't pass the URL around. This is fine in ALL other browsers. I think it may be something to do with my CuFon font conversion scripts.

I have a menu (linked to a sitemap) wrapped in to a panel surrounded by a round control extender. The menu has StaticMenuItemStyle, StaticHoverStyle and StaticSelectedStyle. The first 2 works like a charm but not the StaticSelectedStyle. On click of the menu item the screen is redirected to appropriate page, but the menu item cssclass is set back to StaticMenuItemStyle. The background of the menu items are images. I tried some of the solutions from other posts, but no use.
View 8 RepliesI have designed a menu control in master page. But its dynamic sub menus are hide behind the images whice is in content page called home.aspx. It shows the submenus at development phase but not at hosting time. Here is my code for a menu. Is there any problem in my code. One more thing is that when I open the website in mozilla it shows every submenus not in any version of internet explorer.

I have a rather weired problem with ASP.NET menu control. It stays expanded (displays all menu and sub-menu items) until the page is loaded completely. Once the page loads, the menu returns to its normal position and sub-menu items are not shown. This issue is seen on IE, Mozilla, Chrome, so cannot be browser specific issue I am using AJAX control toolkit, collapsible update panels on my page.

I have an external JavaScript in an asp.net 3.5 project. While writing different functions, sometimes the JavaScript is loaded into FF and sometimes it is not (based on FireBug) and the JavaScript does not run.
Even if there is an error in the JS it should still load or be visible to the browser, right?
What is the logic behind when it is loaded and when it doesn't load (or is accessible to the browser?)

I'm working on an ASP.net web application. I'm getting errors on some of my pages where I get runtime JavaScript errors. I've narrowed the problem down to a single ASP Menu control on the master page. I created a blank page with just the ASP Menu control. The ASP Menu control is bound to Web.sitemap. The page intermittently gives runtime errors. However, if I refresh the page, the error may or may not appear on any given page load. Sometimes, it works; sometimes, the browser throws runtime errors when loading the page or when I mouse over the ASP Menu control.
When I catch the error in Visual Studio, the message is "microsoft jscript runtime error 'sys' is undefined". When I Google for this message, I find that it is usually associated with AJAX. However, the ONLY thing on the page is a single ASP control. There is absolutely no Javascript on the page except for what gets generated by the .net framework. What could be causing this problem? UPDATE I've found out that my environment actually has load balancing with a web farm of three servers servicing the URL. When I access the application on any one of the servers individually by IP address, everything works fine.
To clarify, I understand that when a user hits the public-facing URL, it resolves to x.x.x.1. x.x.x.1 is the address for a switch which routes the request to either x.x.x.2, x.x.x.3, or x.x.x.4. When I use the public-facing URL, I find that some of the axd file requests are intermittently rerouted to Error.aspx! WTF? I'm told that this is the result of a security feature that is meant to protect me from cross-site scripting and other assorted bad stuff. What can I do? Update After taking out some error page auto-redirects, I get a more meaningful error message: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load.
I have developed a website(using vs 2008 with framework 2.0) used css in it, Website is running perfectly in development server but when i deploy it in iis7 css and images does not load at all.
View 2 RepliesChanged the framework in VS2010 for the project from 3.5 to 4.0, did a build, and the error is pretty basic, and just says "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found. Internet Information Services (IIS)".
I made sure IIS is set to 4.0, and have a separate App Pool. Any other tricks to get a 3.5 site to 4.0?
