I have a modal popup that i use to play a video, works great.. but once you close the popup if for any reason you hit the enter key or refresh the page at a later time, it causes the popup to open again. There are 3 buttons within the page that can call this popup, so where within my code behind would i add logic to prevent it from popping up unless you click one of those 3 buttons..
View 2 RepliesI put loginView control inside ModalPopupExtender, the problem is: when I try to login with wrong user/password and press the login button, this button cause a postback and then the page reloads and ModalPopup dissapears, only when I press the button wich cause ModalPopup to show itself, I see the loginview control with the message "username or password is wrong"
What can I do to prevent ModalPopup from disappearing after wrong login?
I am working on a project at work and have been trying to implement the modalpopup extender. I have it set to display when invalid criteria is entered and the user tries to save the item. The problem that happens is that it will display correctly for about the first 3-5 times, but then after that the entire popup (messagebox/background) displays behind the content behind all the content, which are within panels. I have tried changing the z-index amongst the popup to something really high and keeping the panels' z-index very low, yet it still does not seem to work.

So when I click on the target control I will see the ModalPopup.Is it possible to display it without having to attach it to another control? Basically, the button click event will execute a few lines of code, and then it will display the ModalPopup.I ask because a button click event needs to do several processes before it asks the user for additional information. That's when the ModalPopup will pop up, and the user will enter the information there.

View 5 RepliesI'm using the ajaxcontroltoolkit htmleditor to create blog posts for my website. The editor works fine when entering a new article. When I click the Bold button, the text appears bold. When I hit enter, the editor creates a new line, etc. However, I also use the htmleditor when I want to edit a preexisting article. The problem I'm receiving, is when I bring a preexisting article into the editor, it displays a mess of html tags rather than the clean, formatted text.
For example, if I type the following into the editor:

Is there any way to force the editor to display this text properly when editting rather than showing the html tags?

However, the validation of the CreateUserWizard control causes a postback to the server, which closes the popup. I'd like the popup to remain open, even after the postback.

I want to get rid of that text, and display only the contents of my messageBody parameter and have the vCalendar file just attached to the mail message.How can i do this? Is this an outlook issue or a coding issue?
Edit: I'm only interested in displaying the message in Microsoft Outlook. I've looked into the source of the message (in Outlook right click > View Source) and the text i want to get rid of is within the <body></body> html tags of the message)
Some say it is not a bug it is default in asp.net. but for me it is a bug in logic. When you say refresh it should be reload the component that you are refreshing. But in asp.net i notice that they recalling all activity and viewstate like event and data that are triggered in the previous postback. My opinion it is a redo not refresh. this is only my observation on the issue dont hate me on this microsoft fan.

I am posting back to the server to check the DB to see if we hold a reference number. If the reference number does not exist I set two custom validators to invalid and change the ValidationSummary header text. The problem is that the background colour I set in the css class does not display. The font colour does display correctly.
When the validation summary is displayed using client side script the styles are displayed correctly. i am not sure why they dont when there is a post back.

This works in Firefox and IE 8 on post but not IE 6. Unfortunatly I have to support IE 6
I created a page that receives an html report from post data. This html is split up into pages and displayed in divs (as well as used to create a .pdf file but I don't think that is a security risk if the displaying it isnt a risk).
My concern is that I had to set ValidateRequest="false" in order to be able to do this. If the page somehow received malicious input with a serverside script or something, would the script run / could this be dangerous?
This is how I'm handling the request: I have a div with runat="server." Then, in the page_load event (i'm using vb.net codebehind) i set the div.innerHTML property to a modified version of the html received via post.
I need some help to finish of my PayPal page.
I am using Visual Basic in ASP.NET. I have been able to send items to PayPal, complete the transaction and then come back to my site. I have the been able to send and receive the token & auth code, and also the Payers details. (See code Below)
What I need help with is displaying the items that have been bought. If the user buys only one product then that is fine as I can just hard code for one item. BUT I want users to buy more than one item and displaying it has caused a problem.
I know that PayPal sends all the data back for the items, with the result being item_namex, quantityx, mc_gross_x. Where x is the item number.
This is where I have the problem. Do I hard code for item_name1,2,3,4,5...... 100 (which is alot of code) or is there a better, easier way to extract ALL items and display in a simple table.

I have the modal popup come up for searching something. Inside the popup (panel) I have a txtbox and a search button. I enter text and hit 'search' and the results are shown in a listview within the popup. Now every row in the list view has a button "Select". I want to click on one of those buttons to select a particular value.
Now on click of the button(within the listview), I tried calling a javascript function and doing $find('mdlPopup').hide(); , which makes the popup dissappear. But somehow the debugger takes me straight to Global.asax.Application_Error() and doesn't even give me a stack trace to see wht the issue is. And over that, the popup looks dissapeared, but the rest of the controls on the page are not enabled back. Strange?
I'm assuming, that the popup doesn't close as intended and it errored out (which took me to Global.asax.Application_Error() ), and is not enabling the rest of the controls in the page.So my question is, how do I assign multiple buttons in a listview to the okbutton (or cancelbutton) of a modalpopup extender?
I have a page.. which im trying to implement a gridview that allows you to select from it, it will open a modalpopup with a list of records linked to the selection.. now within that popup, you can pick a individual record so you can see full details..So my question is, can you have multiple modalpopup's open at the same time? If not then is there anyway to reopen the first popup with the list again so that you can pick another record

It works fine with FF where one cannot click any other place except the popup. However, in IE8, the window behind the popup is clickable and selectable as if the popup did not exist.
