i have a problem with ToolkitScriptManager:
I have an asp web app contains ajaxtoolkit's controls. Everything is working fine on VS Development Server, but doesn't on IIS7 (win 2008).
The AjaxToolkit's scriptcombine sometimes is not working (resulted http 404 status code on browser). Maybe causes by long TSM_HiddenField query string on complex toolkit's controls.

What could potentially stop an AJAX call from working on the host server, when it works fine on the local host? I tried returning an error from the AJAX call, but all I get is 'undefined'. I don't think the actual page method is being called since no information is added in my log (and I've explicitly added a call).

I understand that probably this is not good forum for asking this question, but I'm a bit dissapointed, and I don't know where I can found answer to my question. Here is my problem. I've got a page that has dynamically loaded content with innerHTML like below:
[Code]....
Everything works fine .. since I wanted to have gif shown when page content is loading. But now I would like to after loading innerHTML content to execute javascript function to create pieChart of something. The problem is that I have to use document.getElementById()function, but it does not works with content loaded dynamically. I mean, Lets say that inside page loaded by innerHTML we've got a form which id="A" when instead pieChart() in above code i will use document.getElementById('A') it does not return my form. I've checked this in IE7 with no effect, ffox also does not seems to work. The only one browser that works at the moment is Chrome.

I've this set:
AutoCompleteExtender (4.1.4.0) in update panel in user control (ascx) and webservice under his ascx.vb and doesn't works.
So I've tested the same markup and webservice method in a simple aspx page and works, so I've some doubt:
- AutoCompleteExtender works in ascx file with webservice function under his code?
- AutoCompleteExtender works in an update panel?
I've always problem to create webservice method using wizard on the control, it return always: Cannot create page method GetCompletionList because no CodeBehind or CodeFile was found! - but I've CodeBehind file..sure!

As the title of this post already mentioned, I'm using a modal popup window to edit rows in the gridview. One column in the gridview contains an URL code. When I fire the edit button a popup opens and show the URL in a textbox in this format: [URL]
When I am using the Server.HTMLDecode function, the modal popup doesn't close anymore.
I am using the following code:
[Code]....
The funny thing is, when I change it to: txtURL.Text = row.Cells[3].Text; then I can close the modal popup, but unfortunately it is not decoded.

I am using Ajax Validator call out extender to validate a web form. The error messages are displayed as expected. But I am able to save the form with data that should not have been entered. For ex: for a number field, I type in "sdsd" and the ajax control displays a pop up displaying the error message "Numbers only allowed"..
but at the same time, I can click on the submit button with the text in the number field... at which time, the web page displays error as I am trying to insert a text in a data type int field. I either have to clear the field on pop up error display or not let the user click submit when ajax validator is active. whats the best way?

I'm using VS2010 and on my local machine, using web.config to map one url to another works fine, using the tag. However, as soon as I upload to the IIS6 server it doesn't work at all! Is there something about IIS6 that doesn't support this feature?

I am having some trouble with an ASP.NET website I've set up and it's very difficult to debug.Background Information:There is a page on my website that allows the user to upload one or many Microsoft Word documents. The user can then press a button, and the code is supposed to open the document(s), count the words, and then return the number of words in a table.This works perfectly fine when I am in Visual Studio running the debugger, however when I try to do it over the web from another computer, I get an error.
try
{
String file = this.lstFileBox.Items[i].Text;
// MicrosoftWordOperations is a custom class
MicrosoftWordOperations wordOps = new MicrosoftWordOperations(file);
String contents = wordOps.GetContents();
int numWords = wordOps.CountWords(contents);

I have ran into an issue that has me stumped. I have a jquery / javascript function that loads when my site is loaded. It calls a service in my project and returns a string of data.
[Code]....
The code that handles the web method is shown here:
[Code]....
This is something I have done similar multiple times. The problem however is the code works fine on the local devbox how ever when I move the project code to the prod box I get a response back with the following:
[Code]....
One note this is the first time I have done this targeting .Net 4.0. Is there an issue with relative url's using .Net 4.0, or VS 2010 that I have missed?

So, I've been working on an app that extracts a picture from an ole field in an old access xp db, converts it to a jpg picture, and saves it to a folder to be presented to the user.
After tweaking some permissions on the local iis, the application works fine.
In the remote one however, the application doesn't extract the picture as expected.
I'm using two dlls on there, although I don't know why it wouldn't work.

i have the following code. what i have tried to do is map a path which points to my R:/ - the value 'R:' is stored in my web.config file. this drive is on my server. what i then do is pass the file name and play in an embedded media player in the web browser. when browse the website everything works fine. however, when i browse the website on another PC, i get an error saying it cannot access the file. is this because the second PC i tried the wesbite on doesnt have an R: drive? i wouldnt have thought this was a problem though. is what i am doing wrong? does anyone know why i cant access the file on that drive?
fileName = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["MappedDrive"] + fileName;

I have used a dll named MARCEngine, which is used to read Marc data. I use a method named MARC2MARC21XML which converts a normal marc file to an XML file.
The problem is it works great on my local IIS, but when I upload it to the production server, it only generates the root node and not the child nodes.
Here is a snippet of my sample page :
[Code]....
Asp.net has the permissions to access the files geneated.

Here is my problem: I have created a login form on my local machine. I have tested it on the local machine and it works fine. But when I push it to production it doesn't work.
I set-up the web config file so that the system uses the production database even from my local machine. I used the Web > AspNet Configuration tool in Visual Web developer to add a user to the production database. I used Sql studio management studio to confirm that the user was in the production database and not just on a local database. I have removed all references to the local database. I even deleted the entire app_data folder on my machine so that there was no chance that I am using a local database.
To create the login, I dragged a login component onto my Login.aspx page from the toolbar in visual web developer.
Why can I log in just fine on my local machine, but when push everything to production and I try to log in as that user I get the error message "Your login attempt was not successful"

I have html editor on page, ajax 3.5. I can save Editor.Content to xml file without problem, after I publish to server machine, It refused to work for me.
my page directive set to ValidateRequest = false and EnableEvenValidate = false and AutoEventWireUp = false, no UpdatePanel used around Editor and update button. on code behind which is button click event.
Dim docInfo.Load(Server.MapPath(xmlInfoFilePath))
docInfo As
New System.Xml.XmlDocument()
Dim ndInfo As System.Xml.XmlNode
ndInfo = docInfo.SelectSingleNode("/info/business[@user='" & User.Identity.Name &
"']")
If ndInfo IsNot
Nothing Then
ndInfo.Attributes("description").Value = Editor.Content
docInfo.Save(Server.MapPath(xmlInfoFilePath))
End If
docInfo = Nothing
This button click generate an error on server side. I guess the problem Editor.Content have hidden tags, the server refuse to accept, but what is real problem.

I have a solution that has 2 projects in it... Project #1 is a class I created some time back to deal with the basic data connection and passing data back and forth.
The 2nd project is the new current project (web site).
Everything works fine in local mode but after I have compiled Project #1 and created a referance in Project #2 then compiled Project #2 and published to the server...
I am running on Windows 7 64bit, .NET 4.0, Access 2010, SQLExpress (loging only), C#... I have rebuilt Project #1 several times as an x86, AnyCPU, and x64... they all give the same result...
I get the following error when the web site is run.

I'm trying to make some calls to a WebService I did exactly what is described in this article [URL] Looking at the console of firebug I could see that my function was executed and returned the expected data, but my callback functions (OnComplete, OnError, OnTimeOut) are never executed. Whats wrong? Here is the code (same code of the article)

</Columns>
</asp:GridView>
<asp:LinqDataSource ID="dataSourceAnnoncer" runat="server" ContextTypeName="Namespcae.TheContext"
EnableDelete="True" TableName="Annoncer">
</asp:LinqDataSource>
Clicking the buttonfield deletes the record just fine. Clicking the LinkButton doesn't work. I get a postback and the grid is shown as empty and no record is deleted. Seems like an empty databinding. I have tried to create a custom OnClick, OnCommand event for the LinkButton, but neither are fired. The OnRowCommand isn't fired either.
I don't manually DataBind in the codebehind.
