AJAX :: UpdatePanel And ListView Events?

I have a usercontrol with listview control nested inside an UpdatePanel and Panel. Below is the layout:UserControl :: Panel1 -> UpdatePanel -> Panel2 -> ListViewUpdateMode is set to conditional. Panel2's visibility is initially set to false.In the containing page, I load the usercontrol and bind the ListView, turn on the panel2 and call the update method of the updatepanel (since action is initiated by an external button and not a child of updatepanel) which displays the rows successfully. However, none of the edit, select or delete actions execute the intended way. When I click any of those buttons, I can see the
UpdateProgress fine but the events seem to be not firing at all. Execution hits the PageLoad but not into any of those event handlers likeItemEditing, SelectedIndexChanging etc.

I have a ListView control on a page that I need to support inline editing and inserting. Before I put it inside an update panel, everything was fine. As soon as I put it in an update panel, I seem to lose theOnItemUpdating, OnItemCanceling events. The OnItemEding event still fires, though.I am doing all updating, inserting manually.

I have a ListView1 control that his <ItemTempleae> has a another ListView2. ListView2 is surrounded by <UpdatePanel> with trigger and also UpdateMode="Conditional". But, I don't know why ListView2 is not being update as it should, I need to refresh all the page to see the new data enter to ListView2 only. What is the problem? How can it be fixed? I think that the problem is something in the structure. There are about 10 ListView2 with updatepanel surronded them, so when I am looking to update a specific ListView2, it doesn't know which one to update because there are lots of them. What to do in order to solve that problem?

When I have a control within an UpdatePanel which is within a ModalPopupExtender panel, after the FIRST successful display of the modal (by clicking OK), the events of the control are not functioning. I have the full source code below of a working example of this. How do I get around this?In the sample, when the modal is first opened checking and unchecking the checkbox updates the textbox. Clicking OK updates the textbox in the outer UpdatePanel. Opening up the modal a second time will now prevent the checkbox from updating the textbox.

I have a web form for payments which consists of a DropDownList (credit card, purchase order, bill me). By default, credit card is selected, and the form (a ListView within a UpdatePanel) is loaded with the user's billing address. If the user changes the payment option, the form fields change -- for example, if purchase order is selected, the billing address + credit card fields disappear and a "Purchase Order Number" textbox appears. This is done using an AsyncPostBackTrigger associated with an event in the DropDownList.My problem is that when the form is submitted, I cannot see the user-entered values within the UpdatePanel/ListView, but I can see the original values loaded in the ListView before the edits were made. For example, if purchase order is selected, I can see the billing address from the ListView, but I cannot see the newly-entered Purchase Order Number from the ListView.Here's an abbreviated version of my code. I've bolded and commented two lines where the problem appears:

I have a CheckBox that is located inside a SelectItem Template. The CheckBox has Autopostback= true. Located outside the list view is a label. When the CheckBox is checked, I would like to trigger an the Updatepannel that includes the label. Instead I get an error message "'CheckBox1' could not be found for the trigger in UpdatePanel 'UpdatePanel3'. The code snippet is as follows:

One thing I really don't like about Updatepanel is that I have to rebind almost all components in the page.
For example, I have to specify Eidit (Update) index (for inline editing) after rebind Listview using Update panel (after partial update).
It was too much job to rebind all components, so I redirected to same page and used Querystring to pass values in order to avoid all components to be updated based on one value...
If I update Listview using Updatepanel, the datapager has to be updated as well based on new Select SQL statement results.
Listview is pretty simple to update, using "Listview1.bind()" does the job.
Datapager is also in updatepanel, but it won't rebind with new results.
After post back, I'm still getting same Datapager as the orignal SQLDataSource.
In orger to "refresh" Datapager, what do I need to do??
I used to use iframe to do partial page update, but I'm having big problem using Updatepanel since simple rebind won't do the job.

What I did is, I have made 2 user controls. One control is inside the other.
NoW one control has a buttton and a data grid and datalist in it. When pressing button I am filling datagrid while datalist visiblity false. This is working fine. But now when I press some link button in datalist data, it should call item_command event but it is not calling.
I have also used a Updatepanel as a wrapper(all controls are inside it).

I have a button that is within an updatepanel control. The button's click event has a function defined for it through JQuery. Once the async postback completes the JQuery event fails to fire when the button is clicked subsequently. What do I need to do to correct this behavior and maintain the JQuery event attachment to the button's click event once it has been refreshed asynchronously?

I have the following within an updatepanel. If i make a selection somewhere else that has its own updatepanel, this data gets cleared.

What am i doing wrong? each updatepanel has its own trigger assigned to it.. so why would updatepanel#1 trigger cause updatepanel #7 to post and cause the field to clear? Even if i tab out of the textbox before completing it, causes the field to clear..

What is the best way to ensure that events are rebound after an UpdatePanel callback?

I have got an issue after updation in UpdatePanel. The issue is the jquery events are not working/firing after the updation in UpdatePanel. At first time, the jquery events work, but not after the updation in UpdatePanel. If I remove the UpdatePanel, the problem is solved. But I have to use the UpdatePanel.

I have a page with a listview that shows something like posts. On each post there should be a "rate box" which works similar to the "Like" button in facebook. The rate box is a User Control, that has an update panel inside it.
If I put the control with some random values in the page it works great - but when I put it inside the ListView, where it should be located, it won't work. The method is being called, but nothing happens.
I simplified the code a bit to make it easier to understand:

While debugging I noticed the controls in the method "OnRateClick" are empty and don't contain the right values.

We have a ASP.NEt 4.0 project i just started. For some reason the ScriptManager, UpdatePanel and ListView controls have 0 intellisense, give me element not found errors and are really starting to $@#% me off. in 3.5 everything works fine. BUt in 4.0 none of these controls work (although they all exist in the toolbox). I do NOT have any Ajaxcontrol Toolkits installed for any previous version of ASp.NEt. I DO have the proper System.Web.Extensions dll referenced and it does exist.
My web.config is TINY though (is this new to 4.0?) i noted that in my compilation tag all i have is :

wheres in 3.5 in this were loads of references to the assemblies. Do i need this? I uninstalled and re=installed VS 2010 2 tiems today and its still the same.

i am using a TabContainer and at each TabPanel i have embed an UpdatePanel in order to update each tab alone.
this is my code:

the problem is that it makes several seconds to update each tab (the same time for every tab) and i asume that this is happening because it updates all the TabContainer and not the selected Tab.

I have two updatepanels on my site (upanProfileSearch and upanMemberList). When I hit the button in the upanProfileSearch it should bind the Data Items in the gridview in upanMemberList and here make a RowFilter on the text in upanProfileSearch. When I make a run to curser, I can see, it happens. It makes a RowFilter. but it doesn't update the gridview. Can anyone tell me why it doesn't update? I have UpdateMode="Always" and RenderMode="inline" on both UpdatePanels.

I have a dropdownlist, that causes a postback. On the SelectedIndexChanged event, is it possible to force a placeholder that is within a different UpdatePanel to change it's visibility?
For example, when the SelectedItem.Value of DropDownList1 is "1" then show Placeholder1, otherwise hide it.
What I am most interested in is how to configure the UpdatePanels to allow this.

I have a web user control with one updatepanel (pnlUpdate_2), some controls and one apply button. I display the web user control as a modalpopup in my default page. In my default page i have an updatepanel (pnlUpdate_1) with a gridview and I modify that gridview with the apply button of the web user control. The web user control is for made a custom search of the gridview data. I have a problem with both updatepanels. If I set the updatemode as always in one of them (pnlUpdate_1) and the other as conditional (pnlUpdate_2), the pnlUpdate_1 make a postback in the pnlUpdate_2; I'm not an expert on this but I think that's why the pnlUpdate_2 disappear and reappear after postback of some controls in that updatepanel (not the apply button, it close the modal after postback). I try all the combinations and the problem persists. So I put both updatepanels as conditional and in some way it works; now the problem is that when I click the apply button in pnlUpdate_2 to modify the gridview in pnlUpdate_1 the pnlUpdate_1 not made the postback I get the pnlUpdate_2 postback when I use some control inside the pnlUpdate_1.
How can I postback the pnlUpdate1 from pnlUpdate_2 with the apply button?

I'm using a listview control to do a survey stuff. Everything is working perfect to present the data questions, to be answered text with the different type of controls radiobuttonlists, checkboxlists, dropdownlists, etc. The admin can modify, create, change questions, answers, etc. on the survey.When it's select, edit, or insert it's easy to find the control inside a listview.However, I'm wondering how to post user's answers back to DB. How to find controls inside the listview to grab the entered data/responses from there using let's say the submit button that is outside of the listview.I believe there should be a way to do it as otherwise why we put radiobuttonlist on a listview that somebody could click it and then we should be able to get that entries. Or I'm too optimistic on this control?
