AJAX :: Combobox Inside A Hidden Container Does Not Work?

Aug 17, 2010

I have a ajax combobox inside a table row which is hidden (display:none) on page load in javascript.

When user clicks a hyperlink, i need to show this row. But when i make this row visible (display:block), the ajax combobox dropdown button and list does not show up.

If I make the row always visible, then the combobox appears fine.

I read about this problem of showing a ajax combobox which was hidden on page load, but not able to get a proper solution.

Ajax Toolkit Combobox Doesn't Work In Hidden Div?

Mar 28, 2010

I have a combobox inside a hidden div which I use css display = none to make it invisible, but when I make the div visible by setting display = block, the combobox just show the input and its button and ul list all have css as display = 'none', visibility ='hidden'.

I can tell it is done by combobox inbuild javascript because I tried to use javascript to set the css manually with no luck. It is a bug of combobox. I spent a week to solve this, and our team put a lot trust on the toolkit.

Below is the code to reproduce the bug. When you run it, you can't see the dropdown:

<%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="asp" %>
<asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" runat="server">

<asp:ListItem>d</asp:ListItem>
<asp:ListItem>f</asp:ListItem>
</asp:ComboBox>
<asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" Text="Label"></asp:Label>
</div>
<div ID="Button1" runat="server" onclick="show();">click me</div>

var d = $get('d');
d.style.display = 'block';
}

I set the width of the grid view to less than the width of the tab container, but the gridview is not inside the tab panel. It goes outside the tab panel lines. How do I keep it inside the tab panel and have the horizontal and vertical scrolls bars for when it is larger than the tab panel?

AJAX :: Controls Inside Tab Container Accessing Through .cs Code Behind

Mar 5, 2010

I've a web project where i've an Tab Container (ajaxtoolkit), and when i run the project it works properly. But when i debug it, it gives me erros in all the controls inside the Tab Container that i'm accessing through .cs code behind (buttons, checkbox, etc).

Visual Studio gives me "The name 'controlname' does not exist in the current context". This happen to all controls inside the Tab Container that i'm accessing in code behind, but the Web project is running with no problems! As it's the first time that i use an Tab Container, i don't know if this is normal or maybe of Visual Studio 2010 RC (or not).

AJAX :: Drop Shadow Extender Inside A Tab Container?

Mar 26, 2010

There has been a couple times now that I have tried to have a panel inside a Tab Page of the Tab Container. Each time I run into the same problem. The extenders drop shadow property wont work. The rounded property of the drop shadow extender works fine but for the life of me I cant get the drop shadow to appear. Every other time this has happened I have just given up the search for the answer and left out the drop shadows because it wasnt a big deal but this time I think it would really make my page look good so I decided it was about time i posted something about this issue. (run-on sentences are my specialty)

The following code will recreate the bug / problem I am having

AJAX :: Hidden Fields In Gridview Inside An Update Panel Not Refreshed?

Jun 22, 2010

I have a user control which has a gridview with hidden fields in some of the template columns. The grid columns are created and bound by code dynamically in each postback and not in design mode. The gridview is placed in an update panel. In my aspx page where i use the user control , there is a dropdown which fires postback and based on the selected value of the dropdown the grid data gets filtered. The dropdown in aspx is not part of any update panel.

After the postback of dropdown, the grid data gets filtered and the grid is rebound with fresh values. The values in the controls like label, button or link button are bound correctly. But the values in the hidden fields are not refreshed and always points to the values of the rows that was generated before the postback of the page (initial page load).

AJAX :: ComboBox Input / When leave The Combobox It Adds To The Combox List?

Dec 3, 2010

I'm try to add a combobox to my form which i have done and populate it with the infomation i need but i want to stop the user from being able to edit the first 5 character in the textbox part of the combo box( 1 is this possible 2 am i going about it in the right way).

I have 3 columns fro a db to enter ips ie 123.456.7.89 at the start if each number i want (SE1)(SE2)(SE3) which i can do at the momment . So I get in the combobox list 3 items with (SE1)123.456.7.89 OR just (SE1) depending of i a result is returned from the DB. However i don't want the user to be able to edit out the (SE?) part of the sting in the textbox. When editing i've tried used the text change event to try and capture the change and make sure the string.length > 5 , but the event does not fire also when i leave the combobox it it adds to the combox list. If I refersh it goes back to how it should be with only the 3 items.

AJAX :: Usercontrols Inside Accordion Panes Don't Work?

Jun 17, 2010

I have the following problem: I have a web form which contains ajax accordion. Each accordion pane contains a usercontrol. Each usercontrol consists of several textboxes and 2 buttons. All the textboxes and 2 buttons (inside these usercontrols) are wrapped in the UpdatePanel. Following updatepanels is the UpdatePanelAnimationExtender for some animation whithin each usercontrol. Each UpdatePanelAnimationExtender has a different animation id from other usercontrols.

Basically when i only put one usercontrol in the accordion pane everythign works. I have my javascript to clear textboxes and the submit button does a postback to server. However, when i put 2 of these controls in 2 different panes only the last one works. Since the last one works i assume it is because it was last to be parsed on pageLoad. So how can i make it that when user clicks on the accordion pane, the usercontrol is ->?re-initialized?<- so that it could work.

Here is 1st UserControl: uctl1.ascx

[Code]....

Here is 2nd UserControl: uctl2.ascx

[Code]....

when i click on pane and fill up the information in textboxes i click on submit and usercontrol should postback to server for processing.

Ajax - Gridview Paging Doesn’t Work Inside UpdatePanel

Jan 26, 2011

Altough questions somehow similar to this have been asked for a number of times, but the question is still unsolved. Here is the question: I have a gridview which is contained in a tab container ajax control which itself is inside an updatepanel. Gridview works excellent and its corresponding methods are fired accurately, but when I enable paging, (e.g.) after I click on page 2, the gridview hides itself. here is my PageIndexChanging method:

protected void GridView1_PageIndexChanging(object sender, GridViewPageEventArgs e)
{
GridView1.PageIndex = e.NewPageIndex;
GridView1.DataBind();
UpdatePanel2.Update();
}

Why paging causes gridview to stop working correctly? What can I do?

AJAX :: SQLDataSource With Parameters Doesn't Work Inside A ModalPopup?

Jun 8, 2010

although I've searched already, but here is the thing:I have a ModalPopup wich have a Textbox, a Button and a GridView inside. The Gridview is binded to a SQLDatasource object, and the Select query is something like "SELECT field_1, field_2, field_3, field_4 FROM Table_Name WHERE field_1 LIKE '%@Parameter_2%'".This ModalPopup is used (or gonna be used) to search for a field, so the parameters received by the Query is the text inside the Textbox, I've linked thid inside the SQLDataSource Wizard.The problem is that everything works perfectly fine... inside the panel WITHOUT the ModalPopup Extender, but whe I add the Extender the filter function doesn't work.Here is my code:

[Code]....

Notes: I have a ScriptManager inside the MasterPage, so I don't have to insert one in every page. Also I've tested the code in a new page (the one I use for testing), and it works fine, it filters and everything, the problem is when I add a ModalPopup to the panel.

How To Pass Unit Of Work Container Into Constructor Of Repository Using Dependency Injection

Jul 23, 2010

how to complete my implementation of the Repository pattern in an ASP.NET web application.

At the moment, I have a repository interface per domain class defining methods for e.g. loading and saving instances of that class.

Each repository interface is implemented by a class which does the NHibernate stuff. Castle Windsor sorts out the DI of the class into the interface according to web.config. An example of an implemented class is provided below:

[code].....

As pointed out in a previous thread, the repository class needs to accept an unit of work container (i.e. ISession) rather than instantiating it in every method.

I anticipate that the unit of work container will be created by each aspx page when needed (for example, in a property).

How do I then specify that this unit of work container instance is to be passed into the constructor of StoredWillRepository when Windsor is creating it for me?
