I am working on an app and have added masked edits to some of the textboxes. On Google Chrome v6.0.472.62 the backspace button is inoperative along with the delete button. I have found no method around this. It also functions incorrectly on the ajax toolkit website: [URL]
Chrome is fairly popular and I doubt I can use this code with this issue.
I'm using MaskedEditExtender for numeric field (i.e.%). In that field, user can enter the percent value between 1 and 100 and also decimals like 12.34. Doing this, I have used this code which is not working.

I have a situation. I know that backspace and delete don't work if we have asp textbox linked with MaskedEditExtender inChrome browser(may be other browsers have the same situation)but I've written some javascript to handle this.

and in KeyDownHandler I check if it is backspace or delete key pressed and do manipulation with textbox text manually soat the end I have real normal text.And During editing text in textbox everything is fine but as soon as I get focus on another control .. text changes back (as it was before editing)What should I do to change the real text in textbox ? Now I am operating with textBox.value property but It seems MaskedEditExtender save this value or something like this.I found some property in MaskedEditExtender - MaskedEditExtender._LogicTextMask but if I change this .. it works only for particular mask of extender.....
I have a textbox with a MaskedEditExtender and a MaskedEditValidator attached to it.
I would like to set the mask so that I can enter any email address which is checked by the validator.
I have the regular expression for the validator, so the only question is what would the mask look like?
basically all I need is a mask that allowes any number of characters, but if I set it to ???? then it allowes only 4 characters but I don't know up front what the length if the email address is.

View 1 RepliesI'm using the masked edit extender in one listview control for inserting new records. When the new record is inserted, two other listview controls are displayedeach showing one record from the table it's reading from. I'm using the masked edit extender in both of these listview controls. When I try to edit the record in the first listview, there is no problem. When I try to edit the record in the second Listview, I get a no source available error. In the error info, a path is displayed that I'm not familiar with. This path does not exist on my machine, it must be built into the control:

The debug source files settings for the active solution indicate that the debugger will not ask the user to find the file: d:hgactServerAjaxControlToolkitMaskedEditMaskedEditExtender.cs.

The two listview controls are not a master/detail view, just two records that related information.
How can I use auto-tab functionality with a masked edit extender?
I'm using a masked edit extender on a text box for inputting a date value, and I want to auto-tab to go to the next box once the date is filled in, but the autotab is always matching the javascript value since the mask is in the text box and tabs as soon as I mouse up any key in the box since the length will always match.
I have a masked edit C99999 as a mask and allow a "C" or "D" as the beginning character.This C or D is added to an existing number when that application is Denied or Canceled.The trouble is the masked edit is in overwrite mode and destroys the original app#.Can I make it INSERT or do I need to do an append of the original number to the newprefix in the update code?I hope this isn't another RTFM question... <BLUSH>

I have a masked edit extender extending a text box. I enter the date 01/01/0001 then change a selection on a drop down list inside the same update panel with the autopostback property set to true. The date is changed to 01/01/1910.

I have found a problem with the Masked Edit Extender when using it with a culture of Azeri (Latin, az-Latn-AZ). I have not found anywhere that states that the control should not be used with languages that is not included in the list of languages that the ajax control toolkit is translated.
The currency symbol for Azeri is "man." the first problem is that the mask displays this as "man," but the comma is the decimal indicator for Azeri.
Scenario 1
When the DisplayMoney property is set to "right" and the currency is removed by the masked editors script the resulting value looks something like "12,12," the second comma then invalidates the numeric value and all my compare validator which also acts on the same textbox keeps failing because the value is not numeric.
Scenario 2:
When the DisplayMoney property is set to "left" there is always a "0," added to the string because the the script of the masked editor removes the man then gets to the comma (man",") sees it as a decimal indicator and adds the 0 before the comma this happens on the first blur of the textbox each resulting onblur event will add another 0 to the value. But the value is already invalidated by the fact that it again has two commas like 0,12,12.
I get this result even with the Ajaxcontroltoolkit sample site, the changes needed to sample site's MaskedEdit.aspx page can be seen below.
For scenario 1, change the first MaskedEditExtender on the MaskedEdit.aspx page to the following:

Here if I enter wrong digit and want clean wrong digit it doesn't clean I mean I should select all digit and type again
i.e:
I want enter this number==500,256,325
if I enter 500,44 and want delete 44 and type correct digit(256) it doesn't clean it I press backspace but it doesn't clean it...
I notice a user tries to hit backspace of a field that is read only and they can't edit, it works like a pressing the navigate back button for some reason.

I have a GridView in which I have item,Edit ,Footer and Empty Item Template , and also a hovermenuextender to show Edit/Delete link on row hover. when my page opens if it doesn't have any data it show empty row , when user enters data and click on Add button it save's the data and load the grid. All works fine in IE and firefox but not in google Chrome.
After saving data in chrome all links stop working , but when i reload the page it workes fine if i remove the hovermenuextender it works fine in chrome also, So i think hovermenuextender creating problem in chrome when it's added at runtime(if empty grid comes hovermenuextender will be added after data saved)
ajax toolkit date picker is not working in latest google chrome browser. it works fine all browsers and earlier version of chrome but it doesnt work latest version. any body know the reason
View 2 RepliesI've had an issue with a javascript menu not working inside an Ajax update panel after the ajax postback. I was able to solve this in IE by calling the menu js function with a pageLoad() function which is automatically called by ajax. However I then discovered it doesn't work in any other browser.
Having search around I've only found two references to the issue; one where someone else has found the same thing and another where someone states that pageLoad isn't stable in other browsers.
Is there any way to solve this issue in browsers other than IE?
I'm facing an issue with chrome. I have multiview in which user control is loaded. This user control has one maskedEditExtender textbox (telephone textbox in ___-___-____ format). Issue is whenever the control is loaded i cannot see the masked feild but as soon i refresh the page I see it. I tried the script above but it didnt worked.

After implementing the same in the application , observed that working fine in IE and Firefox browser . But the same is not working in Safari and WebKit (Chrome and Safari) browser . In these browsers(both Safari and Webkit), while clicking on the top of the panel getting scrolled up .

The problem is that in Chrome when you click on the Image nothing happens. Though it works fine in IE and Firefox.

In chrome it is missing paste icon
in IE7.0 the editor itself is not showing up
I've got an AutoCompleteExtender on one of my pages, it seems to be working fine aside from this strange behaviour: Let's say I key in 2 characters, the suggestion list would display. When I press on backspace to delete those 2 characters, wait until the suggestion list to disappear, and re-enter those 2 characters, the suggestion list would no longer display (or sometimes would flicker for about a second after losing focus from the textbox) and I'll need to refresh the page just to get it working again.
However, if I do press backspace and delete those 2 characters but not let the suggestion list to disappear and re-enter new characters, it would continue displaying with correct suggestions. This behaviour seems to happen only in IE8, (although it works with IE8 using Compatibility View and Firefox)... My code is almost the same as the sample on this site except for the animations, and the service looks up in a database table.
